OP Logic: If VC investments don't increase per quarter infinitely, then the next year is going to be boring/the "hype" is dying.  Roll Eyes

So solely based on capital coming in and exchange volumes you're saying 2016 won't be the most ideal year for Bitcoin? Those two things are just the tip of the iceberg... Being the halving next year a big chunk of that iceberg and miners another big chunk...
There is more exchange volume than ever before.

In 2016 we will see the first results of the VC invested in 2013 and 2014.
First sidechains, LN, OpenBazaar, Winklevoss ETF(?), SW, halving and many more to come.
To say it will be a boring year just because we saw one quarter with less VC investment is dumb imo.
VC money might come in in waves. The first bigger wave was last year and this year. Now it's up to the companies to deliver.
When the first results are promisimg there might come more.Have a bit patience mate!

I could show you all a million and 1 stupid stunts and moronic crap they have posted.
My all time favorite is they ran a story with the headline "Coin cloning is good for crypto ..the more the better" (or similar)

OpenBazaar  LOL
Yeah let's do silk road crap and think it's going to end well HAHA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

you guys here make my eyes roll until they fucking bleed.

@OP.. i agree.

2016 look very promosing for bitcoin, the price is already increasing, 2016 will be the launch pad for a skyrocketing

I'd rather ask one question:

Will BTC grow in 2016?

If 2016 brings more BTC users and more BTC transactions, it will be a good year. That's all I want. Growth. Market will take care of the rest, with more stores and more opportunities to spend BTC all over the world.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

If more users will use bitcoin in 2016 then the buy orders will be increased which meant that the price should normally increased.
And by this more transaction will be made, more bitcoins will be available even though the block reward will be 50% less.

Nice timing OP, price is recovering really good, it seems like everytime makes a FUD post after a correction, the price starts going up again, quite hilarious to see. As for 2016, I can see the scaling debate being settled and new exciting BIP's being deployed, not even to mention sidechains... the future is brighter than ever.

I think the op is wrong China mainly flooding market as most coin is mined there. It is still early years for Bitcoin and as more and more retailers accept Bitcoin more and more people will use Bitcoin, prices will rise

Don't really trust this graph. We haven't even reached the halving yet ? At this point of time its very unpredictable to get to any such conclusions.According to the number of articles flooding on these blogs about bitcoins, they all are saying it will be a great year for bitcoinners and yeah bitcoin got accepted as the official currency of some country I don't exactly remember.

I feel the projections for this year have been somewhat realistic following the previous year’s price fluctuations. At the time, the possibility of one Bitcoin being worth $1 million was not considered impossible, but now more than 60 percent of the community believe this is unrealistic.

User adoption is the most important for the bitcoin growth. More user, more use means higher value for bitcoin.

yeah but the problem is the market. it doesnt matter if there are more users, if there is no market, there will be no growth.

Exactly the market will play a key role in the year 2016, if people have money they would surely think to invest into bitcoins and if they don't they would surely avoid the option of investing into bitcoins, but yes if adoption is good then there are chances that bitcoin will grow or else it would surely fall down.

More users IS important.  But, my feeling that the key is more merchants accepting Bitcoin.  They supply Bitcoin demand!  If they take BTC, then more people who have BTC will spend (and presumably replenish their supply).

Also, the premiums I see currently see with paying by BTC (providentmetals charges 1% more for BTC vs. sending them a check) might come down some due to competitive pressure.  Lower premium would increase customers paying with BTC...

Same stuff was predicted for this year 2015 and we are not so bad.
We started touching a price of 200 usd and today we have an average price of 380-430.
Some said boring, I disagree, more and more people is accepting Btc as payment..

OP First of all thanks for sharing your information and opinion. I get tired of seeing all the trolls on the forum that add little to no value to the conversation.

I'd like to challenge though what in your opinion makes for a boring year? Are you saying the value of bitcoin will remain unchanged through all of 2016? Even with nothing changing I feel since bitcoin and the technology is so new it will remain volatile for many years to come.

To me if the price continues to climb or drops like a brick that keeps it from being boring. To me the only way it would remain boring is if nothing changes. As others have stated with the creation of openbazaar and the halving alone will make for a very interesting year. I can't wait to see the opportunities that openbazaar creates for entrepreneurs and small business owners to be able to start accepting bitcoin. Hopefully I'll be able to think of a way to capture this opportunity and be an early adopter  Grin

all the speculation and panic selling and buying due to the comming block halving will make 2016 a high volatile year. definitely not boring. people will go nuts 1 month before the block halving. it will be a fun year.
