Generally speaking canabalism not an efficient way for DNA to guide the utilization of resources.  It does seem to work in some environments.  When there is a high diversity of more primitive oranisms and discrimination is a challenge (e.g., big fish eat little fish) it is common.  In higher vertibrates I think that some solitary males will eat the young of the species if they can find them.  Bears for instance.  This probably relates to population density factors.

I find the 'CJD' class of prion diseases super interesting in their own right, but also because they seem to have an affinity for 'same species' conditions.  I wonder if, ecologically speaking, the condition itself is not selected for in order to in a subtle way discourage consumption practices which may make sense in corner-case situations from becoming more wide spread than is healthy for a population at large.

I won't eat humans because it's a sin, not delicious and it's not good for my body.  Besides, I can't take my consience if I'll do that. Even I'm in an island, I have I friend, I'd rather to die than to eat him/her. Let's not think about cannibalism, it's for animal term only.

Let's put one thing straight here, when we are talking about these extremes situations we aren't talking about killing the person to eat him/her. At Andes' the survivors didn't kill themselves for meat, they took it from those already dead from the crash.

According to theoretical studies of scholars, human meat is very harmful to humans. digestive system is not designed for this type of diet.

I think you are watching too much movies or reading books that have this kind of story or having this kind of knowledge. If this thing that you were saying is true, then, by now there would be already a lot of people having superpowers that we can see maybe in the sky flying like Superman and has a big body structure like Hulk, or like the other super heroes on the Comics. I guess you are also not getting enough sleep because of having this kind of nightmare, which is creepy to be honest.

There is no such thing like this in our generation, maybe way back on B.C.E and 1st century it is true, because there is a lot of people that day that worshipping Satan, which they believe that will give them supernatural powers and other creepy stuffs. Well in desperate times, you can't eat your morals and principles and mist likely you will die if you don't know how to adapt to extreme desperate situations. What if it's not just your life at stake? What if there's a situation where you and a loved one are in a very dire survival state and you can choose to eat a human cadaver or starve yourselves to death? There are times when survival, nit just for ourselves but for other people, may lead us to make decision gat are against most of what we believe in

If it was my enemy's son and we've been in war with "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" scenario, I will definitely it his child. The other way I will eat human if it's the only thing left for me to survive, I will do that. But for the secret to long life, world domination or what ever great magical power that it will give me, no way - there is no thing like that.

I've seen Venezuelan cannibalism (thanks socialism), it's not pretty, and it didn't look like the cannibal was really enjoying it either, looked like he was doing it out of absolute necessity, taking little nibbles out of the recently deceased victim.

I do have a morbid curiosity to know what people meat tastes like, but there's a moral side of me that's far too strong to let it happen--and it's not as if I'll ever be in a position where someone just happens to have some cooked people meat, unless of course they don't tell me it's people meat in which case I'd probably vomit upon realization.  If there's anything I hope I never have to do, it's eat human.  I wouldn't even want to eat monkey meat.
