Without any preparations? hell no, I'm not the animal.

There are only two ways to cook any piece of meat. Hot and fast, or low and slow. Anything in between is liable to end in toughness.

But what about this.

You're on a desert island, nothing around you but sand and the help is arriving in 10 days and let's say that you can survive only 7 days and there is a body next to you. Would you eat him to survive those 10 days?

I can cook him in the sand, it is a low and slow method. Should be good.

Well unleast someone's being realistic here, not referring to the cooking itself but to eating the human meat. Since, if you've seen the previous replies, a lot of people said that they wouldn't be eating the human meat even if they starved to death. I'm seriously hoping that they don't end up in any similar situation just to see that they were very wrong.

Never ever even when someone offer me a million dollars for this task. Eating flesh of human is disgusting thing, it is also unhealthy and forbidden in all the religions i know so far.

The idea I was thinking of was that in humans more nerves service the muscle fibers (which is believable given our much larger brains.)  This makes it less easy to contract all muscle tissue simultaneously.  I will say that when a jolt of adrenaline hits humans can achieve impressive feats of strength.

You seem to be of the relatively antiquated idea that humans are not apes.  I learned that we are, and it makes perfect sense to me.  In fact, I'm of the understanding that humans and chimps are more closely related than are chimps and gorillas.  That is to say, the divergence was farther back time-wise on an evolutionary tree.

As for the 98% similar genome, I believe that a 0.1% change would be perfectly sufficient to produce a vastly different muscular pattern.  The function of DNA in protein synthesis is such that genome percentages are not a terribly meaningful metric when it comes to defining physiology.

Currently it is in vogue to shit-talk humans, consider ourselves inferior in all ways, and generally engage in self-loathing.  As I understand things, humans are uniquely good at long duration running and it is probably and artifact of being evolved for 'endurance hunting.'  That is, running game such as large ungulates to exhaustion.  From a physical fitness point of view I find that 'something to be proud of' so to speak.

It would be a hard decision because it's your survival at risk. You might die when you don't eat the human flesh or something. There could be other ways to survive but if that's the only choice, I guess that's the only one to do. It would be disgusting but you will never know your mental state there for not being able to eat for a long time, you will become desperate.

Even then there would be people who are willing to die rather than eating human meat. It depends on the individual. Some of them would eat human meat in order to survive, while some others will never do it. For them, death is better than eating human meat.

Under life threatening circumstances i.e starvation I believe that anyone would eat another human. Perhaps not kill them and later on eat them but if they've already died I think anyone would do it.

I am not sure, I see your angle yet. I claimed, that apes and human beings are close to the point, that to expect vastly different muscle structure is preposterous (now, the way those muscles are distributed through out the body is different matter). Then you go out of your way to tell me, I consider humans too separate from apes. What the fuck? What is your point then?

There is different muscle structures even among human beings - reflecting different body mass, height and even density. However, neither of those influence the "taste". Neither do nerve endings.

Between various primates you might find differences in taste based on their nutrition and age, not because of nerves or mass.

It was in the history of the cell earlier, but it will not happen again. Civilization is moving forward and it is unlikely that we will ever return to cannibalism. But I am almost certain that this is happening in remote settlements of Africa

You keep bringing up 'taste' which has nothing to do with anything.  Your original story had a Russian doctor who looked at (what was probably a) cooked human and wanted to puke.  Not because she tasted the thing but because she recognized the muscle tissue as unusual.  In particular, finely striated.  My point is that if it is the case that more nerves serve a given mass of muscle in humans compared to other apes (and especially other commonly consumed animals such as bovids), a finely striated structure would be expected.

Who told you that the animals are cannibalistic? The incidence of cannibalism is very rare among the animals, and it has been recorded only from a few species such as the chimpanzees. On the other hand, cannibalism was widespread among the humans before the spread of Christianity. It was practiced in the entire Latin America, along with much of Oceania and parts of Africa and Asia.

In my entire life, I never eat human and don't have any plan to try.  Even somebody offers me bucks of money or  power and even in the situation of life and death, I will never eat.  Since childhood I don't eat pork because it is consider unclean in the bible and haram in Muslim and even my friends and relatives tempt me to eat that I never did how much more eating human? I will never ever eat human.

You won't be eating yourself, you will be eating another human, therefore you will not taste your own flavor. Who knows if different people has different tastes right? It probably depends on your diet and self cleanliness
