There is no limit to how many times a horse can be picked.  However, miners can only pick a single horse. Smiley

Picks are now closed for the contest.  The block finding bonus is valid for all blocks found before midnight east (5 hours and 20 minutes from now).  Good luck to everyone!

Nyquist wins the 142nd Derby.  PPOC, if you find a block before midnight east, 2.42BTC is yours.  Everyone else, there is still 1BTC for finding a block.

Well in that case I'll have to put in a serious rental for next 4 hours. I'll put up 3BTC worth unlimited on both sides at .0029

That should yield pretty decent odds.

Tell you what... sure... I'll extend it the three hours.  Your bonus, should you hit a block, will still be 2.42BTC until midnight PST.  Everyone else, should they hit a block, 1BTC.

EDIT: Damn... over 11P... gotta love those infinite hash orders Smiley

Amazing how fast the coin burns. May not need the 3 hours at this rate.

Well, there is about 19PH available on rentals. Doing 31 on both sides now so figure I should be able to get 15-16 of that. Almost top on both sides excluding fixed. Something cool about having all the hash on the rental network.....I know its costs a tad more but worth the screenshot!

As long as pool lucks stays as good as it is, should not loose anything even if I don't hit the bonus.....

Well I gave it the old college try, hit a bit over 17PH and ran for 5BTC worth. I'd say thats as good a try one can give. Can't win them all but at least I did pick the winning horse! There's alway the next promo!

Funny that Kano got 2 blocks during my rental  Wink

First: I'd like to thank you Jonny for recuring and fancy promotions.
Secondly: We kinda started expecting promo every day, but I think it's time we give something back.
Third: I'm not best in profits maths (of pool op) but obviously Jonny is throwing a lot of BTC for every promo and I don't think he is Satoshi (with milion coins to throw)

The point: I dare everyone competing for bonus to set proper donation level (permanently) to support Jonny's bonus fund.
IMHO mere 2% it's least we can all do, and you get nice symbol at stats to show off!
Me done:

PS
I do not expect that he will be obliged to continue this pace of bonuses - it's give back for what he done so far.
He may though make special promo for donators Wink

@PPOC: you most certainly did give it the old college try Smiley.  Let's find that block shortly!

@LASERminer: Thank you for your support, and your generous gesture.  I certainly appreciate the donations, and you are right, those funds are indeed used to help support the promotions I run (as well as server costs).  You are also correct in that I've funded every promotion out of pocket.  LOL... I am definitely not Satoshi, nor do I have millions of coins (or dollars for that matter since I didn't win the PowerBall last night Tongue).  I have, however, been lucky enough to make some coin in the past few years I've been mining, and during this pool's existence.  Because of the pool's luck thus far, I've been fortunate.  Just to give you an idea, since the pool has started I've personally spent well over 75BTC in rentals and close to 10BTC in promotions and contest giveaways.  I have received just over 1.3BTC in fees and donations.  I'm not stating these numbers in an attempt to boast, but rather to show the kind of dedication I have to support the pool and all of the miners who are putting their faith, and their dollars, here.  Besides the coins, I have spent many hours of time ensuring the best mining experience.  That comes in the form of writing code to enhance the mining software, setting up servers in multiple geographies, ensuring redundancies of the coin daemons and database, providing local stratum servers, fighting off DDoS attacks, and more.

So, please, let me say a heartfelt thank you to all of you.  It is because of you that this pool exists and continues to grow.  I look forward to the future and am glad you are all along with me for the ride Smiley.

Johnny you definitely go above and beyond for us here at the pool and that's why you've won my hashing power =) I'm sure I speak for others when I say we're extremely grateful for all the hard work and dedication you put into the pool! I am personally so glad that I found you and that you made Bitcoin mining extremely fun instead of just a piece of Hardware running in my closet.
