So this is ~90% of hash power against a contentious hardfork.Awesome!
That's a clear statement I would say.

I've wondered if any of them have any experience with large scale production systems at all-- esp any that must have multi-vendor interop.  It's unbelievable.
From what I've seen so far none of them have adequate experience when it comes to technology. Most of the time they are talking nonsense or just hanging on the threads of propaganda that they've heard somewhere. It is quite unfortunate that the community became this toxic.

SegWit is almost ready and we support its deployment as a step in scaling.

It is our firm belief that a contentious hard-fork right now would be extremely detrimental to the bitcoin ecosystem.

Bram Cohen , Inventor of bit-torrent, shares his opinion on the CEO of coinbase not listening to his CTO on technical manners:

https://twitter.com/bramcohen/status/697705876337995776

So this is ~90% of hash power against a contentious hardfork.Awesome!
That's a clear statement I would say.

    F2Pool — 29%
    AntPool (Bitmain) — 20%
    BitFury — 17%
    BTCC Pool — 14%
    BW — 8%
around 88%

I am sure these attempts at trying to create division are far from over. Waiting to see the next implementation. Glad these contentious HF are being squashed earlier and earlier these days.

@ BitUsher

Regarding Bram Cohen: Well that's a straight and honest answer I would say. Cheesy
I totally agree with Bram. I mean hasn't Armstrong said Coinbase will always follow the longest valid chain?
Now we see it right! Furthermore Armstrong needs to speak with his CTO as he is having a completely different opinion.

Unfortunately, I believe this drama will only temporarily go away. There were indeed many genuine XT/UL/Classic supporters but there were also many shills/trolls/  agent provocateurs supporting a contentious HF. Bitcoin is competing/undermining against some of the most powerful states and corporations and we should prepare for a vicious and difficult fight ahead.

Part of this is educating people towards the true principles of bitcoin, as many are still advocating code be written under the governance of democracy which would be tragic and goes against our current meritocracy consensus based development framework. As we grow our ecosystem this will remain a constant challenge we must overcome as most humans have been programmed to believe democracy is the best form of governance available.

I removed my previous comments after actually reading the article, I jumped the gun and tl;dr after seeing the we need bigger blocks bit.

I still think the author is suffering from herd mentality.

This doesn't even make sense.

F2Pool — 29%
AntPool (Bitmain) — 20%
BitFury — 17%
BTCC Pool — 14%
BW — 8%
around 88%
So 88% hashpower is against the Bitcoin "Classic" contentious HF. Classic is now left with 12% (at most; best case scenario) hashrate. Now seems like the time to pop the champagne people.

Makes a toast , takes a sip with a nod of approval, places glass down and prepares for much more difficult battles that will confront us, without fear or apprehension, but a resolved and determined realization that this struggle has just begun.

We are no longer being ignored or scoffed at , but actively attacked and we must recognize and not underestimate our enemies.

I was talking about Classic in particular. Never have I implied that this is the end of these controversial HF's. Toomincoin has been officially 'defeated'.

Seems like Gavin has joined the dark side.

Perhaps I'm rambling incoherently, it matters not. What does matter is the good news that the latest hard fork got bent.

Still unknown and we shouldn't unjustly insinuate, but the fact that he worked with and partnered with Hearn and the fact that he was trying to push through a contentious HF with such a low threshold which is very dangerous should make people concerned and slightly suspicious.

Hopefully in time he can redeem himself to the community, and admit he made some mistakes.

More like he is a statist piece of shiet.

CIA meeting, MIT (eg USG) payroll, pushing contentious hardfork using (NSA) social media engineering tactics, and also he has been on the town council thing of Amherst mass for years. He is literally a politician. A big polished TURD.
