Sin or not, it is stupid if you try to make a fortune out of gambling. Same goes for killing people, stealing stuff, being a liar... You don't need them to be sin, they are just bad habits. :0

For the record, it's not a sin for Christians as well, it's dictated by the intent of the actions, as are most things like this. You can't tell me it's a sin to wager a nickle between friends over some small binary option of little consequence.

Yep, i'm siding with this. Betting on its own won't impose the activity whether it's a sin or not. The nature of the action, why he did it how he did it would actually determine if it's a sin.

Why would it be a sin, I consider gambling as fun and enjoying and its not a sin at all, maybe if its forbidden by your religion its a sin but other than that its not.

Actually it is a sin in christianity too. Gambling and greed goes hand to hand. You may aruge with that and say the otherwise but it doesn't matter. Gambling equals Greed %90 of the time. And i know greed is a sin almost in every religion there is.

In islam yes, gambling is a sin. That's why i never gambling.

This is a free world and there are things that you could decide what to do. Gambling is one of them. It can be considered a sin, but we commit sins everyday of our lives. Just don't gamble too much and just do it for fun and everything is still good.

Gambling is fun and you can play it for entertainment, so I do not think personally that it is a sin to gamble.
If you are addicted to it and you have a family you have to take care of and you gamble all day then I do think that it is wrong.

Yes it is 100%, and it is a very bad sin, and if you are into it you should stop and get out of this game, below are some Noble Verses from the Noble Quran:

"They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus doth God Make clear to you His Signs: In order that ye may consider-  (The Noble Quran, 2:219)"

I don't consider it a sin. This is the free world. Let people do what they want with their money and time. If you kill people it is a sin, but gambling? Greed is just a human emotion, it's can be bad, but a sin? Nope.

Gambling is not a sin but if it is done out of greed then it is a sin. When your family has no food to eat because you gamble then it is a sin. When you dont give to charities but you are addicted to gambling is a sin. When you dont pray but instead gamble then it is a sin. Gambling is not a sin when its done in entertainment, not out of addiction, and not eating your allocations for your family and charity, not eating your time for God and Humanity. Its not a sin if its not too much.

You are right in the most of your comment but You really mixed the things at the end which gives another direction.Gamble is sin and we can;t say that it isn't, it is addicted, consumes time, money etc.

Yes bible didn't say anything about gambling because gambling is not really bad, it is depending of who are playing gambling if the player starts to be greedy then it should be a sin, and gambling is bad for the people who cannot control their mind and body.

I think that you don't see some of the people who actually run the full of life with goodness and they were very avoiding to sin. How are you doing is sinful and can negatively impact your life in true nature

I think so gambling is not a religion and it depend on player thinking, if somebody aware of risks and disadvantages of gambling than he will never play on gambling sites with their hard earned money, but I think gambling is not sin if we are not addicted of it.

It is not a sin. Gambling is sin for me if you gamble your money that you use for other needs or it is for school expenses, bill in your house, electric bill, water bill. That is a sin if you gamble that money. But if you gamble your excess or dont need or money that excess in your wallet it is not sin. Because in that money WIN or Loose you didnt use the money that reserved to pay your bills.

in life we really have to gamble because sometimes you choice to go to shortcut than walk with the longer one  but i can hardly relate this in a game because if you gamble for game for me yes it is a sin because it involves money i guess

i dont think any constraint is mentioned in bible or hindu religious book that Gambling is a sin , i find only islam which says gambling is haram (sin).
what i feel is that till the time you are doing gambling for fun it is good but the time you tend to do it for living it become haram(according to Islam).

yes bible has not say any thing directly about gambling but there are are so many clues in bible and Quran where you can easily understand that gambling is a sing and Allah forbid us to play gambling.

I don't think gambling is a sin at all, but I'm not religious anyway.  There are so many religions around that you're going to get 1000 different answers to thos question.  And can't we please leave religion out of bitcoin?

I don't know man, some say it's a sin, others say it's not. In my honest opinion, it's not a sin unless you play for profit and unless you gamble because you love money. I do gamble too and I'm a Christian, and I'm not doing it because I love money, and I'm not doing it especially for profit. I am gambling with nothing basically (faucets), so I don't even know if I can even call it 'gambling'. I am doing it because I love the community I found there, it's just amazing to meet so many great people in one place.

In some religions it is considered a sin. But you have to judge a human based on it's doings and if he is a good man and gambles for fun or excitement, I don't see any reason why it is a sin.

yeah for my religion is a sin, but I believe most religions forbid gambling, as well as several countries mostly prohibit gambling because it's sin and have a bad impact.
