Is Ethereum a bubble?

Is it just me, or does anybody else feel that ethereums price is largely the result of manipulation?

After the reality check of the risks of how dumb (as in complicated switch dumb) a smart contract is, the price should be way lower than during the skynet and worlds biggest supercomputer hype. The ethereum price during the comedy caper act of white hackers and such, looked completely unnatural. Even the current price doesn't seem to reflect the realization of the risks and limitations of ethereum.

Also the transition from code is law to a permissioned/censored system with a fork should have had some influence on the market, or is that just me being delusional in thinking a fundamental change in philosophy is a kinda big deal, maybe even an existential one?

I think ethereum is not a bubble, because the volume of ethereum is big. If it is just bubble the volume is not too big like this. But it is just my opinion. Always there are risk on Investment.

exactly the opposite is true.
one of the indications of a bubble is the huge trade volume which has gone up suddenly. and this is true about ethereum.
the volume suddenly rose up to a big amount out of nowhere and this is because of the pump, a pump shoves the price up and others will join in (more volume) then the price goes higher and the pumpers pump it more (more volume) then other newbies join in on top (more volume) and then the dump begins (much more volume)

So its fluctuations are controlled by a lot of users. Yeah I see that its price is really high and it is now at the top 2 in price if bitcoin is 1. So as long as buyers will stay this coin will also stay right?

Well not really. There are a lot of factors that can be noted here. Market and media for one. This activity is mainly due to users but nevertheless, they do not comprise the market alone.

So it is just the movement or the fluctuation that buyers and sellers can affect to, right? Media? By that do you mean the popularity of it? I dont see it news or anything I just see it rarely in some advertisement in the world wide web.

The Ethereum price rose over 50% in the last few days after the successful hard fork. It seems a bubble is forming.

I think it has some important functions, but I don't see a good reason to pay 14.5 bucks per coin atm.
I see many places accepting BTC, the same does not apply to ETH. The moment to buy, maybe, is after this bubble phase.

And who accepted bitcoin when it was 14.5 $ ? That one released many years ago and it still isn't widely spread / accepted with a bloated chain. Plus, ethereum's value is backed by technology / dapps / potential mostly, and less by usability as payment system.

Currently eth is definitely in a bubble mode. People are just happy for the successful fork and there no serious reason for such an increase, while in reality the eth founders are getting their money back. The only question now is , if and when the whales will decide that they don't want to participate in a centralized system any more.

I think you need to wait until the end of the August at least. The Hacker can manipulate his coins after early September.

Somebody said the Ethereum Foundation is short of development funds at the moment. So it might have to sell the ETC.

Somebody said the Ethereum Foundation is short of development funds at the moment. So it might have to sell the ETC.

That could be the reason for the reason for the recent price drop of ETC. The ETC price is just 10% of ETH now.
