Two things:

-Funny that this projects talked about IoT and then explded on 10tps. Not good.

-I'm still baffled that there is no team in place, at least an amplification of the dev team. It would be trivial to find good help on credit, since so much money will be available in a few weeks/months.

Why is this still a oneman show (on the tech side), it looks like a joke. Get more people/eyes/brains on this thing NOW.
terms of escrow make it a straight jacket. they should have incorporated first and then borrowed against btc assets to hire developers for the pre launch phase.

As a developer who has worked on dev teams for the last 17 years I know that when you need coding/whatever done to finish a project you do whatever is necessary to hire people to get it done.  Put it on a credit card, or go to a bank loan officer and show the 6million in escrow to get a loan to get more developers, anything.  We would freak out for 1 client.  For this there are hundreds of investors waiting.

This is too long, btc halving coming up.  A release date of 4/11 would have been primo.

My last question - when has anything ever been released perfect? There are always bugs.

Catch-22.

You need to hire today right now professional developers to get this done. One man working 12 h/day will not be able to do this. The funds may be locked up in escrow and inaccessible at this time. You need to borrow real money against it and pay for real developers immediately in order to get this done.  Every blunder is a black mark ever step of the way. We are at 3 now unless some real initiative to solving these problems is displayed nearly everyone will be so quick to dump this once it goes live, and never return, you can kiss this dream goodbye.

i think its time for panic mode. this project will fail, you see it. sell your ico coins now for any price.

guys get your thinks together, the boat is sinking!!!!

Agree +100.
Dev,please.set-up a refund for those ones interest to have btc back.since ico rulse were differents.
It's legit to ask refund if anyone is not anymore confortable with those delay. Some investor are getting nervous.
Be legit, and refund who need btc back.

Many investor invested a lot considering launch was planned on april 11, and just in WORST case(your words dev "WORST CASE"), april end.
Now it's MAY END.
Some investors are unable to invest in other crypto due to btc locked on lisk ico.

"Pre-launch Development Plan

Security

To improve the overall security of accounts, we are implementing the BIP39 scheme for first and second passphrases, i.e. a string of 12 words. By additionally salting the second passphrase we are aiming to prevent rainbow table attacks. Additionally, users who are using multiple Lisk accounts with the same second passphrase will become more difficult to trace.

• Enforce mnemonic checksum (BIP39) on passphrases (1st & 2nd).
• Salting the second passphrase with the public key of the first passphrase.
• Fix recently discovered XSS attack vulnerabilities."

Dose this related to the upcoming Lisk clients only? or also to our validated ICO addresses??

I never had a second passphrase, just the 12 word key I generated during the ICO

The "12 word key" generated during the ICO IS your first passphrase. The second passphrase is optional and can be configured later in the client against a small network fee. The words in the "12 word key" are called mnemonics. The checksum makes sure that the specific format (12 words) are used. The generated passphrases during the ICO already follow this principle, which is explained in the BIP39 (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal #39).

So you don't need to worry about anything. All is OK. If you ask yourself why we do this. I saw MANY passphrases cracked at Nxt, because people chose easily passphrases. The BIP39 passphrases are extremely secure and uncrackable in the next centuries. Wink

Also shouldnt they have tested it before and then announce a date? I feel like this is going to be the most dissapointing ico of 2016.

We thought that the Crypti code base would be more robust. We already implemented a lot of improvements and Lisk is not just a Crypti fork anymore. It's a completely new "beast" now. Smiley

"As planned", "Delay", "promised release date",…

Am I the only one remembering that all given dates before were ESTIMATIONS? They never promised anything, up until now. May 24th is the FIRST release date that they are firm on.

Correct.

So let's skip the FUD and discuss some bottom-line facts.

What broke the Lisk 0.1.4 network was 600 transactions in a minute or 10 transactions per second (10 tps).

For years, Bitcoin has been limited to 7 tps until changes made to cope with its DDoS attack last year.

https://blog.blockcypher.com/a-bitcoin-spam-attack-post-mortem-s-la-ying-alive-654e914edcf4#.mypx90hpi

http://fc16.ifca.ai/bitcoin/papers/BHMW16.pdf

@liskhq : What tps figure is the new and improved Lisk 0.1.5 network designed to support?  What tps figure has been demonstrated in testing?

A major change made by BTC has been modifications in their transaction queueing system that stores excessive incoming transactions for processing during later blocktimes.   Basically they store on the machines of individual miners those transactions that cannot be processed immediately.  The miners then resubmit those transactions for processing at a later time.

What is the buffer size in Lisk 0.1.5 among the 101 Active Delegates (both in bytes and in transactions) that stores "excessive" transactions for later processing during future blocktimes?

We successfully tested 3 full rounds with 50tx per block, i.e. 16200tx per hour. We are certain that later on there is much more upside potential. We are just taking the more reliable/secure route right now and set the limit to 25tx per block. The new version will be 0.2.0 because it's quite a big update.

Regarding the "buffer size" which is called payload in Lisk, I'm not 100% certain. Better ask Oliver later on the Lisk Chat or forum. However, a regular transaction requires 117 bytes (without 2nd passphrase). The payload maximum size is currently 1MB. That means (1024*1024)/117=8962 tx. This can obviously be increased. As I said, better ask Oliver for this. Smiley

I just quote ETH tps to make a comparison:

How many TPS does Ethereum support

between 20 tps to 45 tps. possibly more.

With CASPER and future iterations what will the block times and tps be?

1-2 second block times and 115000 tps.

You know it's marketing. Same as BitShares 100000 tps and in the end they can handle 1000 tps. Our numbers look small in that regard right now, but (1) much volume will happen on our sidechains only and (2) we will gradually increase our supported tps. Smiley

yes i am little bit worried about this too. you should have hired developers as soon as ico was over wasnt like they asking payment upfront. also this exploded on 10tps only thats a bit worrying. i think it was great it happened now if it happened after launch this would fall faster than a hooker knickers. also it was 2 years in the making why now was it not tested before am kind of worried because you worked on something for 2 years and it collapsed  and you rushing it to be fixed in a matter of weeks hope no more problems or weakness arise. this is gonna get alot of people spooked and the fud now is gonna be terriblle where is cannabanna when you need him.

if anyone is wanting to sell their lisk ico funds PM me.

Agree
- 2years development without appropiate test
- Rush for ico with approx release april 11
- Delayed 2 times with code bug to be fixed and tested (why not tested during past 2 years, or before ico start?)
- Millions usd and doesn't hire new developers right after ico end, only 1 marketing guy from forum.

That's crazy and not professional. Sorry.
Good luck everyone.

I dont beleive this!

https://blog.lisk.io/official-lisk-release-2efac0ea3b3#.3s6aisy8e

The Lisk release will be on May the 24th, 2016?

Can I suggest not to give more release dates as you lose credibility by failing to keep to your dates, best thing not to gives dates instead if you dont stick to them. It is not professional.

Refunds should be allowed to whoever wants them. The micro climate changed drastically from 11th of April to today and delaying this until end of May means everyone gets shafted big time.

^Swedish is correct 100%

LMAO wow what a shit show.  So you're telling me these big shot coin devs of this HUGE ico coin where they have unlimited btc and possible resources have to delay already???  Roll Eyes - Like I said, a coin and dev like WBB gets major work done month-to-month, week-to-week and him and his guys work hard with small team and NO huge ico money!!!  Yet they come thru, even if delayed it's very minor.  LISK should have no excuses for this kinda thing.  THey have so much btc they could hire help if needed (which they won't because they are cheap like that probably).  No to mention I guess that's what happens when you buy up TONS of your own coin.  Where do you think all that btc came from?! lol.

Even WAVES looks good vs. this now haha, and I'm still not convinced with them....YET.
