Here is Augur's marketing video....It explains it pretty well.  It's more of a decentralized prediction market that utilizes a token to incentivize reporters to report accurately.

Augur is not competing with Lisk, Augur has a bigger fish to fry called: Google Surveys:

Lisk on the other hand, just needs to boast a Dapp store superior to Ethereum's Dapp directory to be considered a success. Lisk has already won half of that battle thanks to the ease of Javascript & to Crypti platform that's been in development for past 2 years.

BTW, since Augur is built on Ethereum blockchain, I'm pretty sure someone can build a similar Dapp on Lisk.
