At the rate bankers are jumping out Windows and the cabal's failure to hijack Syria's banking system and oil,  I wouldn't use USD to hedge value at this point in time.   Gold fluctuates, but retains value through the ages.

Jep, the delegate nodes maintain the network, they forge the blocks, similar to the miners in bitcoin, but without the hunger for resources.
Only the 101 highest voted nodes become active delegates.

I will vote for a delegate who splits the profit or a part of it with the people who vote for him/her.

Did the same at NXT.

Any takers. Cool

so over 7mil was raised in the ico..   which a portion will be used to fund development of lisk.
may i suggest the devs hedge its value incase of bitcoin catastophy.

possibly something like this would be good idea.

50% vautoro gold
50% slit up over USDT, ETH, BTC.

just a thought..  as wouldnt want a btc crash, to also crash development of lisk.

Fuck no! Gold, USDT, ETH are way too volatile to invest our hard earned BTC in !

I suggest they convert 25% of the 7M to USD right now to get the ball rolling with new staff payroll & and keep 75% in BTC, only because BTC is supposed to rise this summer with halving.

ETH for investment, Silver for Long term investment, Gold for hedge. Drip BTC to USD or convert amounts where needed for fiat expenses. Payroll in BTC where possible. Avoid holding a lot of fiat where possible. ETH investment pays dividends twice - once with inevitable rise in price, second as I have feeling positive ETH market sentiment will have positive effect on LSK trading.

There's a great Dapp idea that does this. You would be able to control your delegate profits and share them to those who vote for you.

For now, if people were to do this, they would need to do it by hand.

I think it is possible to do it with a simple script using api calls until there exists a real dapp.

Just thinking out loud:

The delegates aspect is great! Crypto democracy, voting for the best candidates, candidates campaigning which is good for marketing, visability of Lisk.
Keeping people to actively participate.

- Do you guys think delegates should also be chosen by geographic location?
- And use different servers:( AWS is the biggest with Dash masternodes I think), maybe Lisk should use many different ones, to decentralize the most...
- Is the setup similar to a masternode setup?

I think if Lisk will get the ecosystem up and running faster than the competition (ethereum, augur, ...) it could be a game changer.

Not directly I think. May be with some tweaks using iisnode and expressjs. I'm also trying.

The team is preparing itself for a successful launch. Once Lisk is launched (hopefully successful), funds will be released to the devs.

The community and the devs are working on PR for Lisk in the meantime. It takes some time, but it should be soon.

Global Position should be taken in to account when voting for nodes. Latency for confirmations and concurrence will be important when there are only 101.

I would be cool for someone to create an interactive map that allows people here to position a pin to their general location, and make note of their hardware and possibly some type of voting mechanism until Lisk comes online. If you are using a cloud service then place your pin where the VPS is being hosted.

Additionally, I think, for whatever it is worth that the node election should be dynamic based on: vote count, density of transactions occurring to the nodes geo-position and a custom algo that measure previous reliability/performance akin to sections B6/7 of Delegate Handbook.
