So is Augur like the Nxtty ACCI:

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/the-chameleon-project/?PHPSESSID=2s3lk280iui6oc32okl4u52rj4

A composite index for predicting value?

2 things that made Augur trading so interesting (related to possible Lisk trading):

1. As others have mentioned, Gatecoin did trading with IOUs
2. If you wanted to trade on Reddit, one of the developers would actually act as escrow to change the ownership of who owned the keys for the REPS

Even before it's officially launched, it's already drawn quite a bit of attention.  It sounds like this isn't possible because of the ability to reclaim Lisk through email accounts?   I hope I'm wrong. I'd like to know if there's a way for us to trade prior to the release of Lisk. I like option #2 better than option #1. There's a lot of trust required at Gatecoin.

Great!

However instead of this our devs are trying to block pre-sale threads.

ya... i just hope the devs help their investors make cash off this and not just go on holidays now that their paid ;\\
once an exchange hits they can take all the time they want, but they need to think about their investors who had faith and give us something to do with this lisk while they work

I love Augur and was happy to be have a little invested early on. However, I am focused on Lisk as you mentioned above. I hope the developers see the value of early investors much the same way. If not, oh well, I made my investment and happy about it.

Also, take node.js in account!

That was my point - server-side web and desktop apps written in JS are 99% based on node.

Too many people treat this like American football teams, I rather look for the win/win.

Go Vols!

("Vols" is short for "Volunteers".  In American history, Texas was settled and defended by people from Tennessee.)

I am curious...what is this "win/win" of which you speak?

Attracting developers to work on Lisk doesn't mean work stops on Ethereum. It might grab some attention from people in Ethereum to diversity their holdings.

How come the ETH platform offers a better approach?

Here is Augur's marketing video....It explains it pretty well.  It's more of a decentralized prediction market that utilizes a token to incentivize reporters to report accurately.

There are a lot of innovative projects that can be realized with a complete turing functionality.....Lisk has huge potential with such a large developer pool from which to bootstrap a massive community participation.

I'm sure we will see some developers in ETH ddaps also take on Lisk for their projects. It's like a game company only making exclusive games for a console, It only happens if there is huge incentive to do so or else they will try for release on all consoles to maximize their potential profits.  Because, it's not really their problem who wins or loses, as long as they are using at least one of the winning coins.

I hope so too! Back to my question (which is the only reason I brought up Augur in the first place).

Will it be possible to sell our ICO holdings prior to the release on the mainnet?

Lol, Lisk will never go or be on Kraken ... c'mon guys !

Why not?

ETH is on Kraken and it accounts for 50% of Kraken trading volume:
http://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/kraken/

You don't think they'll noticed 2nd largest ICO ?

Lisk was the second largest ICO?....Really?  Are you sure it was bigger than the Augur crowdfund?  If it was bigger than the Augur ICO, I'm gonna have to start questioning my decision making skills here....Hmmm?

you're full of shit.

Augur:

Over 18,000 BTC and 1.1 Million Ether

Augur is dead.

wtf is Augur?

LOL...He said, "wtf is Augur?" http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/augur/

Bought in at around 66 cents USD per share....Huge crowdfund!  Sorry you missed it!  At one point each share was selling at 0.9+ BTC on https://gatecoin.com/   It is far from dead!

It will be interesting to see what type of press they generate prior to Lisk hitting the exchanges.
