- Dapps are some sort of apps. People know apps but don't know why there shoud be a network surrounding them and why this network needs things like wallets and coins.
- The coins are the fuel of the network? Why?
- Give me an example of a dapp that needs a network (blockchain) with expensive coins in order to make things work.
Your average Joe.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IOAvXidA5tIJU4ods3_W_SWszCsry4xiW29ChOTQly0/edit?usp=sharingThe first person to create a Lisk sports betting dapp becomes a billionaire. Average Joe again: Bets = shady = like bitcoin and funding terrorism and Ponzi-scheme stuff... Next please well I think the biggest issue is still that nobody knows the real price so we can't really do stuff that requires price calculations without totally just guessing. It might very well turn out that this coin is NOT an expensive coin. What about some sort of voting app where the dapp has control over issuance of registration tokens that are paid for in lisk. This question is hard because you can basically say this for any coin. The benefits are that the processing of transactions are lightning fast and it does not waste energy because of the streamlined block reward system. Basically almost everything ethereum can do, Lisk can also do well. the possibilities are endless and since it's new, it's your opportunity to build something you would want to use. You mention Ethereum, that doesn't ring a bell to average Joe. You have to have good arguments to counter opinions as: - If I want something online, I pay with paypal/mastercard. I ay and get it instantly. Blockchain speed does not interest me, average Joe. - Services for which you have to go to a site you never heard of (like poloniex), trust them with your money in order to get some coin while the graphs of almost any coin suggest a volatility like Nasdaq on steroïds won't get many people motivated. If they want to bet/buy/game, they'll use mastercard/visa/paypal. Bitcoin has been around way longer and if I talk to people around me (educated ones), the most they know is that it was internetmoney that boomed, then crashed with some shady stuff in between. - Speed is a good argument indeed but then again: if I want something, I just pay for it with the known alternatives (see previous point). - local markets (as a dapp) could be interesting for fast money transfer between people IF they don't have to go to a place like poloniex. I think adoption could be found in games, donating small amounts of money for sharity, donating a 'thanks with some juice' to (for example) an artist/journalist/...or in avoiding taxes (but then you're messing with powers you don't want to meet who will do anything to destroy you and your blockchain). yeah, you are right. I mean, there's really no reason for anyone to use lisk or even bitcoin vs. Credit Cards. This is still a speculators game and I don't think lisk or any altcoin will find mass adoption until bitcoin does first. So we develop little by little. Rome was not built in a day.

I think that many many people forget tahn voting is not free : 1 Lisk. Many people will not vote at the begining...
you can vote for 33 people with 1 Lisk as long as you vote for them at the same time.

The average Joe doesn't know what the Internet of Things or future disrupting techs are. He's going to know what they are AFTER it has reached massive adoption; he will just know how to use them. For any crypto-currency to reach mass adoption, it needs to be combined with emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, among others. Lisk is a platform that runs decentralized applications, so combining the Lisk platform to the IoT is very possible. Blockchain technology has evolved past its terminology of "digital money", it's much more than that; it is capable of connecting billions of devices with higher efficiency and lower fees.

From BitShares, the idea was if delegate pay became high enough, delegates could become their own mini company hiring people to help bring value to the product.

Speaking of delegates, the community should:
1. Have a central location where delegates should report what they are doing to add value to the system.
2. Set minimum expectations of how often delegates should update the community.
The most annoying aspect of DPoS was getting updates. As a community, we should not have to track down updates. It should be the delegate's responsibilty to communicate.

but this is not something you can enforce. Now if you got a group of people together who will only vote for people who participate in your system it would be good at convincing some to join up.

Hi guys! how and when to claim the signature btt bounty? thanks!
If you participated in the signature campaign and have invested in the ICO, you may PM LiskHQ your LISK address and he will record it down for you. If you didn't participate in the ICO, then you have to wait until LISK launches.

Hi guys! how and when to claim the signature btt bounty? thanks!
Send PM to Bigcabrito with your validated LISK address. If you don't have one, you should wait the mainnet launch. BCT Signature Bounty Rewards
THIS BOUNTY CAMPAIGN HAS ENDED! Hey Guys, The BCT Signature Campaign Bounty has been updated as there were duplicates in the data. Minor mistake, it's been fixed. Good news is, if you participated in the BCT Signature Campaign Bounty, you will now receive a bit more LISK! Here are the new numbers: - If you had the signature since Week One, you will receive a total of 1011 LISK
- If you had the signature since Week Two, you will receive a total of 809 LISK
- If you had the signature since Week Three, you will receive a total of 607 LISK
- If you had the signature since Week Four, you will receive a total of 404 LISK
- If you had the signature since Week Five, you will receive a total of 202 LISK
Remember, if you participated in the ICO and have validated your Lisk Address, you may send me a PM (if you are on the list) with your address to receive priority on collecting this bounty after the launch. Same procedure with the Facebook bounties, as I h ave begun collecting addresses through Facebook. Twitter and Newsletter will soon begin. Thanks for reading! And sorry for the confusion. (Thank you bob75coin for noticing this ) Joel

but this is not something you can enforce. Now if you got a group of people together who will only vote for people who participate in your system it would be good at convincing some to join up. I recommend the Lisk community really taking time to study how the dynamic worked in Bitshares. When delegates refused to update the community on what they were doing, voters would put pressure on them to either show value or get voted out. For the most part, it worked as intended. Nobody rides for free. I'm not talking about some type of central code nonsense, just a recommendation to the community to set standards and vote accordingly. I went through about about 2 years of their threads on DPoS. Lot of lessons learned, it is in our best interest in the Lisk community to learn what went right and wrong and apply the best practices. I'm not a DPoS expert, however, from everything I read here, there's still a LOT of misunderstanding. The OMG eyez will be rich by running a delegate is missing the point. If delegate pay is high enough, it will allow those delegates to hire workers to help build the ecosystem.
