I always store it on a cold storage wallet. I can never be sure if my btc is safe on those exchanges like xapo or coinbase. They can still be possibly hacked and time will only tell when.

I guess it's more secure when you store your bitcoin in a cold storage wallet. It protects your wallet from unauthorized access, cyber hacks and etc. because it is not connected to the internet. And as for now, I am planning to store most of my bitcoin in a cold storage wallet.

Which should have been your wallet right from the start. I store most of my bitcoins in a cold storage and I have the assurance that it will never be hacked unless someone barged in my house, pointed a gun at my head, and made me give him the wallet seed. Obviously the chances of that happening is really low because people in my place don't even own a gun and everyone knows each other. Plus, bitcoin is not known in my place.

Leave some of your bitcoins in an online wallet so you can cash out right away without having to connect your cold storage wallet to the Internet. Leave some coins to trading sites in case a major altcoin goes down and you want to trade. One important thing is to have a good security for your computer. I suggest that you run a Linux OS instead of Windows or at least do a dual boot. There are tutorials out there about that.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I prefer to use Electrum wallet.I had been using it for the last two years. It has user friendly options. We could set the transaction fee manually as per the market situations. At the time of opening a wallet,a seed of twelve words is generated which could be used for recovery of our wallet if lost due to system fault. But it should be downloaded from the official website Electrum.org instead of fake websites.

I stored my bitcoin in online wallet like xapo because i used it for a years and i like xapo because no transaction fee and very safe here. Some online wallet are the payment transaction is so high. I think some only here used online wallet but i think is more safest than to offline wallet.

Cold storage wallets are a good "obsession" for everybody who manage bitcoins, hard->paper wallets may be my second choice, btw never put all your eggs in the same basket should be another one obsession for everybody...

so, How do you store your bitcoins?: in many different ways and trying to distributing it between all of them, yes, paranoid mode on... Tongue

IMHO #1.b of suspects, Hal Finney is/was S.N.

I divide my coins into different wallets but the most secured one is with the huge amount which they called "main Wallet" as far as I know . And it is in my desktop . The more offline your wallet does the safer it is so a cold storage is the safest so far .

I use blockchain wallet  and an online wallet called coins.ph, I used it when exchanging my coins to my currency .

I use more than wallet to store my bitcoins, for example i use Blockchain wallet , but also some exchange services that offer the wallet service like Coinbase and Xapo, and also using the paper wallet. But you can also download the blockchain app to more secure your bitcoins.

I store my bitcoins in a number of places which I usually visit in the period of a week at least, like I really like to gamble so I have made accounts on various gambling sites. Also I have a fully verified account on poloniex where I usually trade bitcoins for either litecoin or Monero, or other potential game changing coins so I also store my bitcoins there, and for regular spending I have a blockchain wallet setup and for saving for future I have an electrum wallet.

I use a mixture - I have some paper wallets stored in a safe

I have a few bitcoin on my main computer using elctrum wallet

I have .4 ish bitcoins on my Iphone

I have almost a bitcoin on blockchain.info

I figure its good to spread it around (it helps me sleep safer at night)

I store my bitcoin in just one wallet. Is it okey to store it I just one wallet or should I have multiple wallet for safety precautions. How about in my iphone? When you have different wallets is it not hard to monitor?

Just online, you want a extremely huge chunk of bitcoins to discover benefit in storing them offline or purchasing a components wallet for them, for small amounts I think a computer wallet or an on-line wallet would be decent but Personal computer wallet is better IMO if you can protected your pc.

Hello everyone as the title says ^
Do you store your bitcoins online or on a wallet on your computer, perhaps cold storage?
If I keep a coin in my wallet and tend to rely on a note application in order to be able to anticipate the existence of a lost key at any time. More to take advantage of his own personal Android phone.

I personally keep my bitcoins in many different kinds of wallet as especially having a hardware wallet to save my big percentage of bitcoins and profit after doing some trading. Storing bitcoins in a safe and secure wallets is very much needed of a bitcoiner.

I save in a lot of wallets, can be wallet exchanges or wallets offline, because I often do trade, and I do not always move on the wallet. it's just easier and not too much cutting costs when I just use to trade.
