For anyone who has bothered to learn about all the candidates before making a decision, Bernie is the only reasonable choice (of the remaining candidates)

FYI: the prediction markets for 2016 President give very slight, super-longshot odds on Elizabeth Warren winning the Presidency. See the entry for her in "2016 Presidential Election – Winner (Individual)" in the middle of the above-linked page.

According to a report I just read, Michael Bloomberg is expected to announce he's jumping in as an independent candidate. Any chance of Sen. Warren doing the same?

I am certainly open minded about potential 3rd party candidates as well, but I don't think anyone has officially announced yet

I think the green party will run Jill Stein again... She got around 500,000 votes in the 2012 election... Currently the record for a female presidential candidate

If 2+ females run as independents, they could steal a lot of Hillary's votes... I hear her votes are 80% women

Green parties all over europe always support socialist candidates. Since a lot of europeans already contributed to bernie's American campaign, and are planning to vote for bernie illegally, why not? He cares for global warming.

Maybe - but it won't take away her black support. You do have to admit, she running as the standard-bearer of "Obama's Third Term" did help her.

The weird thing is, PredictWise's implied percentage for the Democratic candidate to win the Presidency is 64%. It's weird for two reasons:

  • It bucks the prior odds: the only "Incumbent's Third Term" candidate out of the last six to win was George H.W. Bush in 1988;
  • The handicappers in that particular market have roundly ignored Donald Trump's dominance and Hillary Clinton's "superdominance." They seem to care nothing about his popularity or her past.

In the abstract, the markets are favouring a long-shot result that the raw "prior probabilitiy" places at 5-to-1 against.

Bernie Sanders is the only candidate who cares about non-billionaires...

Bernie has a 50 year track record of standing up for the middle-class, African-american rights, gay rights, etc

Hillary has a track record of standing up for corporations, banks, and billionaires who give her money...

Trump has a track record of being a greedy, hateful bigot, who only cares about himself

Of course but Trump makes them laugh.
Trump is just like them. He's greedy as fuck and blames the migrants.

Why would they think 2 mins about the fact that it's simply WRONG that one's got to take a 200k$ loan to go through his studies. That it's simply WRONG to have your retirement assets played by private companies on stock options. That it's simply WRONG to have a totally free market allowing companies to make higher profits every year while tightening the wages.

Exactly!

People who want to blame outsiders for their problems... vote Trump!

Blame the Mexicans, blame the Muslims, blame the gays... Sounds just like Christianity to me, no surprise he's winning the republican hate-vote

Bernie has pointed out the people who are really to blame, and its the insiders... the establishment... don't let Trump misguide you
But it doesn't do any good to push the Bern.  Listen, I FEEL FOR the Bern, because of the way he's getting kicked on and laughed at by Super Delegates and coin tosses going to Hillary.   The corruption of the Democratic party is right out in the open here.

Also, the corruption of the Repub party is right out in the open.

Don't worry.  After the last gasp of the Bern, you will still be welcome in the Trump tent.

I keep telling him/her/it the same thing, the focus should be against harpy clinton now, TRUMP later. I have said the beautiful 24k Gold TRUMP doors will always be open to them, after...

The anti TRUMP / anti harpy rhetoric ratio from the OP is telling. That is why they are losers: they could not see who their real enemy was.

... Because the free bernie college does not provide Sun Tzu studies...

 Cool

What you don't understand is that Trump represents everything we hate.

He's a selfish greedy freak.

Give me one thing he ever done that is good for the people, for America.

I do not think you have that right.  If you believe in politicians and not businessmen, that is a problem in and of itself.  There would be virtually nothing in America if not for businessmen.  You'd be looking at herds of buffalo and a population of a few million, at the most.

Post #56 is a masterpiece of ignorance, a chocolate fountain of liquid brain cells, kept gently at room temperature by a hot plate of bad historical revisionism... no wonder bernie has so many supporter like him/her/it.

******************************************************************************

It's called indoctrination...

Did you grow up in America?  When I went to school... every single history/social studies class promoted the idea that socialism/communism was evil... they did not give specifics as to why, it was simply slandered to death... Socialism was made to be such an evil word, that nobody wanted to go near it...

This was not for any logical reason, besides America being in a cold war with socialist countries... Gotta hate the enemy or you can't get troops to shoot them with their guns...

Socialism was demonized in America for 30+ years... and again, for no reason really... no specifics were ever given besides, "it's evil, like those commies in Russia and China"

Now that America is starting to wake up, and people can do their own research on the internet... they can see socialism is not such a bad thing, and has some really decent ideas... a mix of socialism and capitalism would be beneficial for everyone

I don't know if this was discussed, but if Bernie Sanders doesn't win the nomination, do you think he will run as an independent?  I think there is a good chance that Trump would do so if he doesn't win the republican nomination.

Yes the establishment in both parties is corrupt.  They are all bought by the corporations and the wealthy.  This year, there may be a slim chance that a third party candidate could win.  Still unlikely.

No, he won't. Everyone knows that Ralph Nader's Green party candidacy in 2000 all-but put George W. Bush in the White House. Had Mr. Nader not run, the 9/11 President would have been Al Gore.

Already, the handicappers & political junkies have said that Michael Bloomberg getting into the race will help Trump and hurt Hillary. Sen. Sanders running as an independent will only make things harder for Hillary - and easier for The Donald.

I'm sure Sen, Sanders knows this, and has already decided not to run as an independent on those grounds. Re-igniting The Bern would prolong the fun, sure as shootin', but it would only be a campaign of & for "beautiful losers." That's what the "Cold Equations" imply.

Even though Trump is bullying his way to the republican nomination, I'm not sure that independents will vote for him in the general election.  He has said many extreme things in this campaign.  There could be room for a third party candidate to get some republican votes, some democratic votes and most of the independents.

According to the various opinion polls and sample surveys, Trump's support level is higher among the independent voters, than it is among the GOP rank and file. His huge margin of victory in Nevada was mostly attributed to independents enrolling in the Republican caucus, and then voting for him. The same happened in New Hampshire as well.

(still flying the Bern flag)

Here's a keep-the-faith link for ya:

Quote from: David Dayen
No, Bernie Sanders’ moment isn’t over: Why his gargantuan impact can’t be erased by a Super Tuesday drubbing

While polling shows Sanders bracing for what could be critical losses tonight, his movement will live on regardless

For most of the past year, the traditional media has waged a determined campaign to pretend the Democratic presidential primary doesn’t exist. (The DNC certainly did its best to help with that effort.) Bernie Sanders upended that studied neglect by raising more money that any presidential hopeful and battling presumptive favorite Hillary Clinton to a draw in early states.

Now Clinton’s blowout in South Carolina, and the expectations of more lopsided victories throughout the South on Super Tuesday (and perhaps even in expected Sanders strongholds in the North), has led media types to exhale, secure in the knowledge that Clinton will storm to victory, so they can turn their attentions to the Donald Trump auto wreck for a while longer.

They should resist that temptation, because as interesting as the slow-motion detonation of the Republican Party has been, Democrats are engaging in their own self-reckoning that will prove just as seismic in the future. Sanders’ biggest accomplishment, if it holds, will come in getting Democrats to dream again....

http://www.salon.com/2016/03/01/no_bernie_sanders_moment_isnt_over_why_his_gargantuan_impact_cant_be_erased_by_a_super_tuesday_drubbing/

All a 3rd does is give the election to #1 or #2.

So go ahead Bern.  Be #3 and help out Trump.

He has made it very clear that if he loses the Democrat primary, then he is going to support Hitlery. Remember the argument: "both of us are much better than any of them (republicans)"?

And talking about #3, it is most likely to be Marco Rubio, or Mitt Romney. How that is going to help Trump?

The only Rubio 3rd which could happen is one funded by the Saudis backing Hillary, in order to effect a Hillary win.  But that boy does not have the staying power for such a thing.  Neither Rubio or Romney would ever go outside the Republican party to get elected.

Trump would because he knows what a farce they are.  But he's promised not to, IIRC.

That's why I hate America and its corruption. Americans seriously believe that businessmen have built a better world. They seem to forgot that they didn't, workers built a better world. Businessmen just happenned to manage it and keep 90% of the profit that's all.

Not saying they're bad. Just that they're not the most important!

The world could go on without businessmen. But wouldn't go far without workers.

Seems like America forgot where it came from.
