Its officially on now, thats a big step forward for Bitcoin when a big company start accepting it. If more big other companies will implement it too, plus the halving taking place the price should be on the rise (it is already, near 500 USD per bitcoin now). Good days are coming for the Bitcoin users and more beautiful days for the holders.

This is going to benefit them both, people that use Steam might get interested in Bitcoin and might even invest in to. It also goes for the other way around maybe Bitcoin users go over to Steam and buy a couple of games.

Not everyone has a mastercard, bitcoins are easier to get, but there are other options that are more convenient (like paysafe, because you can buy it everywhere), thats the thing all those bitcoin startups were supposed to do but didn't.

It is perfect that Steam is going to accept Bitcoin because you also see now that there will be more people that is using Bitcoin as their payment method and that is nice for Steam itself.
So you are making it both more popular so that is nice but the value have also to rise.

Not if you have a credit card.

BTC exchange rate is calculated by averaging BTC price @ major exchanges, will be displayed @ check out. So I guess yeah.

m so excited for this, I didn't believe it at first, because the creator of Valve (Gave Newel) said that he didn't want Bitcoin on Steam not a long ago, so now if he has really changed his mind, you can expect millions coming to Steam in Bitcoin form because its way more convenient than messy credit card payments.

It's already in Steam for week maybe, a lot of videos on youtube about - "My first paymebt with bitcoin" or smth like this. So go to steam and try to get smth with bitcoin!

As long as you mine your own coin, I suppose. If you have to buy BTC, I don't think so.

Exchange: must provide personal info, pay fees, wasted time (hassle of funding, which itself may involve additional fees).
Localbitcoin: Hefty premium over spot, safety risk, time.
Bitcoin vending machines ("ATM"): Hefty premium over spot, time.

i have to reveal my ID to the exchange but not to Steam or any of the 100 porns sites which i (maybe) visit  Wink
and the good thing is: Bitcoin price went up and i get 40% more for my money now.
