Micon welching on a bet... Who would have thought?

I think it's time to invoke the escrow holder since Micon is clearly not honest enough to actually pay up voluntarily. Not that it is any surprise from that sleazy character. He doesn't call himself a degenerate for nothing.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

The WSOP is an all encompassing time of ultimate busyness for poker players.  Its like trying to get the attention of a CPA the week before April 15th in the USA.

I don't think the winners of this bet are at any risk As if it goes too long the escrow will settle it, and it is not unreasonable to expect some time for Micon to research the claims.

If you do ask the escrow to settle it you should expect he will have to do the same research.

Well, that's fine and all, I just... I mean, how long does WSOP actually last for someone in Micon's position?

About ten minutes, given his poker ability.

You are so very unpleasant.  I would never have anything to do with your business.  You know lots of us feel this way.

Excellent reminder of why never to do biz with BFL.  It's run by convicted criminals and represented in public by an Internet troll.

Also, there's an escrow who can release the funds if it takes too long.  And the escrow is trustworthy.

I'm satisfied that I lost the 150's.

Crazyblane, mrb, sgtspike please email me:

micon@sealswithclubs.eu  and I'll reply with the code.  If you need a more cryptographic transmission of the code let me know how you'd like it.  [obv don't trust bitcointalk PMs IMO]

glglglgl / IMO I'll win the 350's vs. MrB & sgt spike, about 100 coins back for me, plus I settled earlier for 75 coins with Mr Teal.  All in all, good gambling fun IMO.

congrats to the winners, tell 'em where you got it from!

WSOP day 2 tomorrow, gonna get some sleep, will ship the codes when I wake up or at worst tomorrow after the day is done.  I value a quick payment when I win, so I strive to provide the same to the other guy when I lose.

Congratulations to the winners!

Companies claiming they got hacked and lost your coins sounds like fraud so perfect it could be called fashionable.  I never believe them.  If I ever experience the misfortune of a real intrusion, I declare I have been honest about the way I have managed the keys in Casascius Coins.  I maintain no ability to recover or reproduce the keys, not even under limitless duress or total intrusion.  Remember that trusting strangers with your coins without any recourse is, as a matter of principle, not a best practice.  Don't keep coins online. Use paper or hardware wallets instead.

Just to clarify, I had no 350 MH/J bet with you.

Here's the initial 40 BTC bet:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135914.msg1468693#msg1468693
The additional 200 BTC bet sent to the same address:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135914.msg1833042#msg1833042

Both are 150 MH/J bets.

yes indeed.  It's nice to see people gambling like gentlemen, IMO.

I emailed you Micon.

sent the 200 code, I anticipate receiving the 80 coin code in 17 days, so small money back on the loss for me.

you are correct, I'm sending you the 20-coin code as well at the 200 I have already sent.  Congratulations on your win.

I have yet to hear from crazyblane but will copy-paste his code via email or any other method he wishes from WSOP today when he replies.  I only come out slight loser in this one, having settled one bet with Mr. Teal for 75 coins, if I win the 80 coin code from mrb it looks like I'll be down ~80 coins or so on the deal.

a sincere thank you to Mike Caldwell for making the Btc-address tool.   I will be using this in all my future escrow'd btc gambling dealings.  Furthermore I will be using my 2011 Casascius coin as a card protector for day 2 of the $2500 Stud tourney today.

glglglglgl all

so when's the outcome?

As of Jan 28, we have bet 80 BTC (40 each), sent to the escrow address calculated by casascius' cryptographic escrow app (casascius himself is the escrow). Terms of the bet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135914.msg1460806#msg1460806  Escrow address: 1Btxe5E8E4jCWfDhQMr683sVYnLgNLbA9z

As of Apr 16, we made a second bet of 200 BTC (100 each), sent to the escrow address (dooglus is the escrow). Terms of the bet: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=135914.msg1861384#msg1861384  Escrow address: 1Dtf7TrZrQr7QooVGoKfd99rxHNoikQ3EH

As of May 5, so far, here are the potential datapoints that could determine the bet winners:

User Mhash/Joule Proof
enmaku 191 (at the wall) 5-second average of 5720 Mhash/s while measuring 30 Watt
gigavps 188 (at the wall) 5-second average of 5650 Mhash/s at 30 Watt (not sure if he measured himself)
kano 169 (at the wall) 5400 Mhash/s while measuring 32 Watt (he visited BFL though, excluding him from one of the bet terms)
grnbrg 156 (at the wall) 2-second average of 4065 Mhash/s while measuring 26 Watt
hdsolar n/a 5-second average of 5100 Mhash/s (unkwnown power consumption)
canton n/a 5500 Mhash/s (unkwnown power consumption)

--oOo--

Below is the first draft, first attempt to defined a bet...

Micon and I expressed willingness to place a personal 1:1 bet between each other, identical to http://betsofbitco.in/item?id=665 , that is:

Quote
Butterfly Labs ASIC is real and will achieve 350+ Mhash/Joule

At least one ASIC-based Butterfly Labs product will demonstrate 350 Mhash/Joule  or more, at stock frequency/voltage, at room temperature, for a sustained period of time of at least 60 minutes, with appropriate current-measuring equipment on the device's power input(s). Power consumption shall be measured by adding up current from all the device's DC inputs (12V jack, USB cable, etc.) It will not be measured "at the wall". The purpose of this bet is to avoid wildly varying efficiencies of power adapters and computer hosts. This bet applies to all ASIC-based products that Butterfly Labs will deliver to the general public. This includes the "SuperComputer" family (Jalapeno, Single SC, Mini Rig SC), as well as possibly any unannounced product that the company will be shipping by June 30, 2013.

This statement is true if, for example, the Single SC achieves 40 Ghash/s at 114 Watt or less (40000/114 = 351 Mhash/Joule) as measured with a clamp meter on its 12V DC input and 5V (USB) input.

This statement is false if all Butterfly Labs products fail to achieve 350 Mhash/Joule, or if Butterfly Labs fails to deliver any product at all.

mrb: agrees with the above statement.
Micon: disagrees with the statement.

Valid codes received, coins swept. Thanks Micon for not dragging the bet on, and thanks to Casascius for developing a great escrow tool! Good experience overall.

Why would I apologize for it?  It was true at the time and was meant to spur him into action and it worked. I have no doubt what so ever that if it weren't escroewed, he would have welshed on the bet.

Besides, I have yet to see an apology from him for calling me and BFL a scam and for all the ridiculous claims he's made over the past few months.  Why would I apologize to a sorry, pathetic little man like Bryan Micon?

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Note Josh Zerlan the troll and scammer's generous provision of yet another example why nobody but a moron would do business with the scam operation BFL.
