I went with 2-5% but that's being optimistic, realistically I think bitcoin ownership will stay under 2%. Even if bitcoin ownership increased by a magnitude of 10 it would still be less than 2%. We are still in the early days.
maybe I will be optimistic bitcoin users would probably only reach 2-5% of the total world population. if you want to see 90% of the world population using bitcoin. it will take the next decade That number is too optimistic, when half of the human population have problems accessing water when one third don’t have electricity, I don’t think we are anywhere close to reach a number like that, if we reach one percent before this decade ends we should consider ourselves lucky. electricity and the Internet has become a major requirement in the world. so I think it will be developed to become more sophisticated so that electricity and the Internet will continue to exist so believe electricity will not be cut off in the future Electricity and Internet come hand in hand. If there is no or little supply of electricity in your country then basically Internet is also limited then bitcoin used is limited as well. So the number of bitcoin user correlates to countries that consumed a lot of electricity. My guestimate is that bitcoin users will more likely around 2-10% for me. I agree with some saying that bitcoin is still in its infancy, so its still young and needed to grow more in the coming years to reach its potential in year 2020. I agree, I think that Bitcoin's adoption by 2020 will not result in it magically being a mainstream currency and my view is that arguments for Bitcoin becoming worth a million dollars or something are nothing more than weak hyperbole and a facade of optimism. The usage couldn't be more than half because less than half of people have regular access to the Internet. The people who will have good enough Internet will be much fewer than that, and beyond that a lot of people with stable currencies will not automatically turn to Bitcoin if they are in countries with stable enough currencies that they feel are better for spending in their everyday life. True. Why switch when you're currency is good enough? There are some people that I talked to on Slack that are converting their fiat money into bitcoins because they are using it as an investment and because they use bitcoin to pay for services/goods online. The people that do not know what bitcoin is will not go to trouble to learn all of these because their current situation is good enough for them, obviously. Most people that have an online job because of bitcoin is from third world countries wherein the minimum wage is just a couple of dollars. Online job is far better than doing hard labor for the whole day and earn less.

Actually it is speculated that by 2020, 65% of the world will have access to the internet, but even then, that does not mean that all of them will use bitcoin I mean right now the ones that do have internet access don’t know what bitcoin is, they don’t even know what PayPal is.

No one can make an accurate prediction. Quite a lot of people still doubt to invest in bitcoin and rumors about the fall of bitcoin can scare them away. My opinion is 10-20%.

Even your predictions on my view are very overpriced. The fact is that you can take for attention the number of people who use payment systems on the Internet in general. These statistics will show the real numbers of those who work online and earn.

I've been running a poll for some time now about the value of 1 bitcoin by 2020 and it's safe to say a lot of different opinions and guesses are made. This poll completes the other one and i'm really looking forward to everyone's input in this. Tnx for your input I would say it was too early to predict the future value of bitcoin by 2020. From my own perspective, I went with 40-50 because I believe that the coming 2020 many people will recognize and use bitcoin and it will be more familiarize. I am looking forward for the positive outcome of bitcoin.

I think the percentage is it may increases i will say it could be 60 percent because it become familiar to the people and recognize. I believe that many would bitcoin because it was a good investment. And at the year of 2020 many that have an internet access around the world it may increases the percentage of people with bitcoin and who are investing..

nearly 35% of the population will recognize bitcoin, and bitcoin users 25%, 15% active users of bitcoin. but this is just speculation from me, but the demands of the modern world makes people have to wear crypotocurrency.

60% of the total population or an increase of 60% of the current estimated users? Please clarify it because if you do mean that 60% of the world's population, I would say that is too unrealistic. Bear in mind that we are still less than 5% of the total world's population now and although we are growing but it's not that fast, you can tell that when the price started to neutralize or stabilize, now it's full of manipulation by the whales.

voted for 10 - 20%, bitcoin popularity is increasing every other day I have seen many people are getting interest on online income (instead of working from physical companies) using bitcoin as a payment method, so if this continues in 3 years bitcoin will become more popular and widely accepted as a payment options.

I voted for 20 to 30% although it seems a lot of improvement on to the percentage people own at the moment. I believe by then it will be somehow well known and adopted among mid generation (at least) therefor safe to estimate the outcome by at least some where within the range of 1/4 although it varies from each country and how they are in terms of technology and stuff.
i voted for 50-60% in my own predict because day by day many people know bitcoins and because of technology people that work on physical will be turn on someday in online and they will know how bitcoin works

By taking into consideration we have 7.5 billions people living on Earth, I vote for 2-5% maximum. Why? Because people are generally resistant to change. No matter how easy a life can be by adopting new techniques like Bitcoin but still people are happy living life as it is. For example, take Digital money like Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking have been implemented all over world for more than 20 years but still only 20-25% transactions are carried through it. Thus, we should not expect more than 100-150 millions Bitcoiners by 2020.

So we have right now 220 million transactions in the blockchain. A number of 500k unique adresses used currently: https://blockchain.info/charts/n-unique-addresses?timespan=180daysWith an increase of only 25% last year. And we of course now that many of those transactions are made by the same person, same of addresses used. I've checked my old wallet and with the new one, adding a few on localbitcoins and other wallet I have used more than 100 alone. I really doubt it could reach more than 200 million users by 2020.

You are absolutely right. Still, a lot of people are not addpted to Net Banking and credit card transaction because they are afraid to do transaction with this process. If any mistake happens where to go, they don't know. Now some countries are addicting to digital currency. To avoiding black money the govt only entertaining this digital currency in the there country. But just for 3 years, we can not expect more than 2 or 3%.

Yeah we cannot expect that each and everyone will start using bitcoins in next 3 years as bitcoin has not reached everywhere yet and majority of people have not even heard about the bitcoins so it will take long time for bitcoin to reach to each and every person.

The number of people who use Bitcoin will not increase much more. Its actual adoption in the world, while you can't calculate it, is just a tiny fraction of one percent and it's not going to just jump through the roof, especially since Bitcoin isn't scalable and isn't the most convenient method for transactions. It has a specific audience and purpose and those groups will continue to use it, possibly more often or more widely but that's about as far as I expect it to go.
