Not sure I've ever seen an automotive blade-type fuse mount for a circuit board, but they DO make sense and should be cheap if they exist, and the fuses themselves are quite common in many ratings (specifically including 20 and 30 amp).

This could be a candidate, trouble is they don't specify the rating of the socket. |

Nice put in a 25 amp blade and safety all around. Yeah I know the tweakers will want to put in a 30 amp blade but still make spec with that socket. |

Nice put in a 25 amp blade and safety all around. Yeah I know the tweakers will want to put in a 30 amp blade but still make spec with that socket. That is also a troubleshooting technique called "smoke testing". Put in too large of a fuse and see what smokes. Then replace it. If the larger fuse still blows, replace with larger fuse and repeat.  |

Nah. Fuses cost money. Just make a jumper and let the PSU or wiring between it and the load be the limiter...  edit: Hmmm, along those lines, has anyone looked to see if the IBM PSU's have an internal adjustment to set the OC limit? |

Amps should be 30 not 20. Stock 25 amp,fuse with 30 amp,fuse as the over clock option. This would allow 270 to 325 watts per board on max . Maybe 2.2th to 2.4th max more like 2th. If you do 2 boards per s-1 shell maybe 4th pulling 440watts. A lot nicer then the s7 pulling 1449 watts. Buysolar and I have quite a bit of s-3 and s-1 waiting for bitfury boards. |

Current rating is too low, we require 25A minimum with 30A (for overclockers) as ideal. Also cartridge fuses ( eg. any AG or SFE) suck at high currents, biggest problem with them is the contact areas on the clips and cartridges, get the slightest bit of oxidation and problems start happening fast.

I can tell you your item is less work and pretty good quality, but 2 usd vs 17 cents I think the 17 cents deal would be picked. now if you found that 2 dollar item for 50 cents it would be good since it is less work the the 17 cent deal. and sidehack may still prefer the 17 cent deal . I have not done as much of this work as he has. he knows a bit more then me. |

Just sayin' that is also a good point . lets say for the sake of argument . 500 bitfury boards get built and that nice looking 2 usd item is available up to 150 pieces then no more can be had. even though it is a superior item it may only be 50, 100, 200 of them. Would be nice to try to source it in bulk at a good price. 10 gauge wire can handle 30 amps no sweat. |

Just throwing this out there, but I won't use that part unless I can't find something that was actually designed for board mounting instead of spliced inline on a wiring harness. Heck of a big hassle, not worth talking about.
