Using is a relative term. If you're holding your coins in your wallets for whatever period of time, then you are in fact making use of Bitcoin in form of an investment. If you consider using Bitcoin to purely be focused on the spending (currency) aspect, then you should have a wider view on what Bitcoin is being used for. I agree this threads' author because let's write trust and say that bitcoin = money, please don't be fanatic about that. And when you have money, yes it's good to invest in something, make business and do a lot of profitable stuff but when you have money, at the same time you must use it. Our life = time = money. I find a lot people here to be very hypocrite as they say that people should start spending their coins, but not do so themselves as they don't want to spend their coins as they believe the price will increase. People are free to do whatever they want with their coins. If one person wants to hold its coins for 5 years without using them, then it's fine. If other people prefer to spend everything they have, then it's fine too. But only let people focus on themselves instead of telling others that what they do is wrong, while in fact that's exactly what they themselves are doing.

in that case you should not be wasteful of money (bitcoin in this case) which means spending it only on things necessary not just buying random stuff which you don't need or just spending for the sake of it.

People would really not spend their bitcoins since its a money and has a value and people dont like to waste any cent of it. You are right its not really ideal to spend bitcoin on useless things because of this kind of matter. Spending it only when you are in need and on some important things.I admit that theres really an importance to spend bitcoin in able to circulate on its ecosystem in able to grow but most people will surely hold.

There so many transactions going on all the time and saving is a good idea for the future rather then blowing everything you have at the present time save for your future. Even people who hold for a long time take out investments so that creates transactions. In fact every one like to save some money for their future, or at least for some time so that they can use it in emergency or for the future and education of their children therefore as bitcoin is money and there is even no restriction on fiat currency to store it or keep it for a long time therefore there is also no restriction for on bitcoin to store it for a particular duration.

It is obviously not against bitcoin, people sometimes say that if everyone hold their coins it might affect the price of bitcoin as it will hold a part of coins in circulation, but i don't agree with that, not everyone hold their coins at the same time, they use them also.

Well i think it will not going to damaged  even you are just holding it. since impossible to happen that there is no people who do not use or spend bitcoin. that is why many stores and company are accepting or paying in bitcoin right now because they know the potencial of bitcoin in the future that it can be use widely.. that honestly we are using it right now widely and few more adoption are needed and more country that can accept bitcoin locally..

Your comment is funny but its true if storing bitcoins is bad to bitcoins then storing dollars is bad to dollars. Storing and selling bitcoins and dollars are natural to both fiat and cryptocurrency, it is how the natural movement of the market. There is no wrong with storing bitcoins but if all people store bitcoins and not even 1 satoshi is being released and sold inthe market then bitcoin is dead.

correct people have their own right to do as they wish, but if you want to contribute more to bitcoin growth , bitcoin development then you should consider to no just hold it as investor only. but actively spend it everywhere so you really help spread and introduce bitcoin to this open world.
