I think its asked from the wrong direction. An experienced Trader can crawl a market and pick some oportunities, because he can read between the lines, he is more or less up to date with the news and to a certain extent, knows who plays witch role in the game. Best would be FIRST to understand some Cryptos and then invest in those. Engaging by helping some altcoin-maintainers with their work is a way to have a rapid learning curve and a opportunity to earn some money too. For example there are tons of "Bountys" out there to gain some money and to get some feeling about, how to deal with the freaks around you Wink. You should at least have seen one or two altcoin failing (you will not loose to much time with that task, lol), and one or two rising and you should try to understand, why they did so. Knowing, you will now, after reading this, give a shit of it and jump into trading (because we all did). Try to remember my words after the first half Bitcoin, that has been converted into scamfood Wink

good luck
have fun Matthias

I made 22BTC from 0.7BTC (I was late to the BTC party) trading shitcoins, every one of them has a similar cycle unless it fizzles out before it's first jump.

You do need to watch the threads closely though as a single holder will crash the tiny market, so you might not get much sleep.

Insiders will usually get out during the initial rise, sometimes they will keep the scam alive for a few pumps, just don't get caught up in the technobabble they spew or cultish behaviour of the "communities"

Once you decide to trade on shitcoin (random and strange altcoin) it's equal to you do gamble.
Shitcoin could turn 10x price up and could turn 10x down, it couldn't analyze at all, just put your money for a couple weeks and see that Shitcoin turn on what.
Trade on things like this not needed big amount to start, $100 more than enough.

I would think it is not worth the exchanges time to deal with anything less than $25.
The terms & conditions should tell you as each site are different.

The thing with trading is, if your going for dust profit then you could just start with any amount but if you want to see at least some good amount of profit, then start when you've got 1 BTCitcoin at your disposal but also have this in mind to not jump into the feeling of pro trader and start with smaller amounts than going with larger one's at start.

Depending on the exchange, the minimum transaction limit is usually the equivalent of $1-$5 and that's how little you need to get started.

If you want to learn how to trade it's best to start small and increase your size as you feel more confident.
Just be aware that it is much more difficult to trade with the larger sums as emotions may start to get in the way, once you risk losing the amounts that actually matter to you.

If you are not feeling to confident, or your trading is not going to well, decrease your size again, until you start feeling the market again.
Never try to make back your loses with ever larger trades - that's the best way to ruin yourself.

If you trade on an exchange like Bitfinex, you can use leverage to trade with more than you own.  If you just want something to do in your spare time you can get started with ~$100 and make a few bucks easily on a good trade.  I'd personally start around there and use the profits you make to be able to trade more.

If you are trading altcoins then you can start with a small amount and if you are lucky you can really make some BTC, be aware that there is a lot of manipulation with the altcoins.

Do some research in this forum on the coins that peak your interest and of course only risk what you can afford or are not to upset about losing.

What is the minimum amount to start as a trader?
If you are talking about bitcoin trading or altcoin trading i think 1k+ USD will be good to start if you know the risk and market moves.

But if you are noob i suggest you just to gain some knowledge about trading doing some test trade with small budget.

I suggest you to start small, not more than one Bitcoin, and do some trades to gain some expirience. After you see how it works you can hop in more seriously. Most important is to you do all possible researches before trades and never risk more than you can afford. Trading Bitcoins and other Altcoins is more or less gamble if you are not some big shot and have insider info before news are released.

I think it differ from each platform you use, I am experimenting with https://1broker.com/ and it works out fine. You can see a layout of their fees here : https://1broker.com/?c=about_fees and as you can see the Minimum margin to open a position    0.01 BTC and the Minimum deposit amount is no minimum and the Minimum withdrawal amount    0.01 BTC

So with them 0.01 BTC is supposedly the minimum to start with.

Outside from having a bankroll to start trading.. Op you should map out your risk assesment.

Just incase if your route of TA (technical analysis) fails you or whatever. And how to eat up that loss and carry on or make it in another way to continue trading - or else you`ll be out really quick.

Start will smaller amounts that you can afford to lose, justw to get the feeling how is everything going and to  feel the market. With time, whenw you maybe enlarge your starting capital with some earning try bigger amounts. Experience is important, but the luck can't damage too.

What is the minimum amount to start as a trader?

The minimum measurement of a certain currency!
1 Satoshi
1 Cent
1 Pence

Why else would these small measurements exist if you couldnt use them for trading?

I started trading altcoins with exactly 1 BTC. The minimum allowed is much lower, but you have to think that the less you trade, the less you will gain (or loose). So, it's more about how much risk you're willing to take.

If you want to trade stocks, you need more than that.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

What is the minimum amount to start as a trader?

First you need to trade with low amounts to understand some trading concepts, the low amount i consider 0.1+ then increasing the budget time by time would be good and starting from 0.5-1BTC i consider the minimum on trading, by this time you almost understood how to trade and there is a lower risk.

i dont think there is a minimum, i have traded less than a bitcoin buying altcoins for a few satoshis and then selling them for hundreds, but i suppose its all about your appetite for risk.
