The big advantages of starting starting with the least amount would be as the starting a trader will not have enough experience so they will be trading with the least amount will give them mental freeness like not worrying about big losses.

True as long as the amount can buy altcoins why not start to trade , you can start trading with small amount of bitcoin and if you're great with trading you can grow your bitcoin with short term trading just take time to see the graph always which alt coins are good in that time. not sure about this because in this conditions is need to be extra careful because the price of bitcoin and altcoins is not yet stable and if we are in rush then get ready to get loss. but for minimum amount to start trading, i think you should take a look in minimum buy+fee in one market then its should be a minimum amount to start trading.

for example, in poloniex, the minimum we need to buy altcoin is 0.0001+fee, but i don't know with other market exchange, maybe its different than poloniex.

Trading is not easy to make a good profit.. unless if you stick in one crypto currency like bitcoin bt if you are choosing altcoin we do not know if what is the best altcoin to hold for a long time that can gives you more profit.. like ethereum we are seen few weeks ago from $14 to $7.
So for me if you want to to invest a large amount stay with bitcoin and invest few bitcoin into other altcoin..  that you can see in top 20 altcoin in coinmarketcap

Scammed? i think trading is always depends in you how you manage your own ways to make a profit in trading altcoin and bitcoin..
You can be scam if you buy an altcoin without using escrow.. or if you buy a shitcoin that there is value right now and sooner it become dead and no one will buy it because it is scam coin.. many altcoins out there that there is scam coins..

I think it varies from person to person because I know some people ( well, they were friends earlier but now they have earned attitude ) who invest like 2-5 bitcoins when the price is low and sell at higher prices.
But usually you should start with a capital based on the risk you can take, like if you are a risk taker in this trading business then even 0.05 is fine but safe trading means at least 0.25 should be there to cover any loss in the beginning.

I think that the minimum needed to start as a trader would be 100 times the fee that would be when buying or selling. Because if you invest $1, and it goes up 30% but you gotta pay 9.95 to sell it you would be at a net loss. As opposed to if you invested 1k and it went up only 10% you would still be a net gain.  However, when buying crypto curriences, the fee is much less. take yobit for example they only take .2% of the total of your purchase which than it would be reasonable to invest only $1. Although their btc is artificially inflated because you gotta pay .2% to buy/sell it and than 1-6% to withdrawal your cash.
