I know that just about everyone on the forums knows that bAsic is dead but it appears that the site is still up and taking orders:

https://www.bitcoinasic.net/

Huh?

Is it just me or did Tom / the bAISC team forget to take down the page when they folded?

Taken straight from bitcoinasic.net

Transparency
We strive on a daily basis to keep our customers updated every step of the way and our focus is to provide premium customer service, customer support, and customer contact that is rivaled by no competitor.

Tom hasn't posted anything since January 23rd.  He should be held accountable to that.  Paying back BTC isn't hard.  If he wanted to, he'd just buy more from the funds he received for his initial orders and it should be even easier since he's only refunding the USD value and BTC has climbed so much since we ordered with him.  I'm sure a lot you would like the choice of putting your coins towards avalon or someone instead at this time.

While I'm not at all happy with the way Tom is handling this, I also think the comparisons to pirate are unjustified. Intent is clearly missing as well as most of the harm.

At this point he is exactly like pirate...
Unless we start seeing BTC refunds...

Well, I don't remember Pirate refunding 2/3rds of what was owed before running off with the rest, but I could be wrong.

What does it matter how much Pirate he is.
The fact that he refuses to communicate with us itself is unacceptable and should get him scammer tagged (as we don't have a "maybe not a scammer but don't do business with" tag). Till he refunded us we're still his fucking customers. What kind of business refuses to communicate with it's customers? Srsly, wtf is this shit. Not even a small "btc refunds might take x more days cause y" post (not that I would put a lot of trust in it but still).

This is becoming more frustrating as each day passes and no answer from him. Even if this turns out not to be a scam, its totally unacceptable. I did get an answer from Dave though, however he once again explained he doesn't have direct access to the BTC purse, so there goes our chance for a refund.  I think this is it. The end of this week is pretty decisive and with all this money involved, Tom better be prepared to run or be gone already. Thats all I'm saying.

Looks like no BTC refund after 13th of Jan.

Requested a refund on 12th, received response from Dave on 17th -> "I'll submit these refunds to Tom in today's batch."

No sign of refund yet.

Status: Refund Requested

Well, I don't remember Pirate refunding 2/3rds of what was owed before running off with the rest, but I could be wrong.
Even assuming he wasn't lying about the proportion of payments, those 2/3rds were credit card payments, which means that most of the customers could've got their money back via chargebacks. Now when that happens, Tom's credit card processor is forced to pay out from their own funds and get the money back from Tom, meaning they'd lose more than enough money to justify legal action against him. They also have his name, address and ID. Bitcoin customers tend to be a lot more reluctant to sue and a lot less capable of doing so.

Don't bother replying to idiots who still think Tom isn't a scammer.

Because of these idiots, this community will get scammed again and again.

If all of you work together, you can pay a small sum for PI to find exactly where Tom is.

At first all these ASICs manufacturers were not scammers since they were also FPGA developers
and they did deliver!
Now, i wonder....
