I think that instead of giving coins to an army of beggars, devs should do an ico or at least allow coins to be pow/pos mined. Would help the project a lot.

I think no one is giving coin to beggars. Those who are collected XRB , are doing it in a hard way by claiming through the faucet and i tell you it is not an easy work to claim the coin through faucets. This is a unique feature of this great coin.

+1 on that!

This whole 'hard work needed to claim coins' argument is flawed because there are solutions that solve those captchas automatically. I don't want the devs to waste their time on this stupid faucet but to concentrate on making raiblocks better because I'm convinced it's going to be a great coin. No need to stick to this particular distribution system if it doesn't work. An ico would additionally give them a nice financial boost and allow them to hire more devs/do some marketing.

An ICO next to the captcha thing would be nice to give the dev some headroom for developing this further. I understand this is done by a single developer?

I generally dont like ICOs but if that is the way to solve funding issues to fix this coin then i am cool with it. i might even put some money into it if that crowdsale happens.

Now the price is even worse because of Solvemedia captchas. Better revert back to Google ReCaptcha v2 or this coin will lose its value even further.

How could the type of captcha affect the coin's market price?

My thoughts. I think what's more detrimental to the coin is that about 90% of the threads conversation about it is about the faucet.

Well... I just recognized you. You are the person who created a special browser. I think that a person who takes 5% profit from offering his special browser in a free license should not accuse the devs of being greedy. And anyone who created such a special browser should have realized that, the more people use the special browser, the higher the threshold would become.

Anyway, changing the type of captcha from reCaptcha to Solve Media is apparently trying to eliminate suspicious claimers.

hey smart guy, the coding took me 1 month, the support took me 5-6 hours daily...  this time i NOT claimed.. so shut up and dont talk about my "profit"  , because i lost thousands and thousands of MRAI if i am using this time to claiming when i tried to HELP to others....
you must be ultra clever and know everything!   I am pointing of one problem of the devs and now you are changing the point/topic and offending me...   so shut up

He's mad because he's loosing profit. I respect your work, but respect this unique project. Imagine how much time coding did they spend to create it and to support it. They can do whatever they want with RaiBlocks and I support their every decision!

Yes, do an ICO. This captcha thing is becoming lame.

same thing happen with me mate that's why I'm not very active claiming the faucet right now, i wanted to make sure that my wallet will be fully sync before doing it unless taking the risk of using bitgrail wallet address and claim for the whole day to make sure that I'll be able to meet the required
numbers of Mrai.

Same here.  Been trying for last 2 weeks.  Says error initializing node and fails to start.  I asked around a week ago and didn't get much help.

The hard usage of wallet is the largest block for the growth of XRB.

But...
Is it so bad to stop the faucet now?
And send the remaining coins left for distribution to anyone who already owns some xrb, proportionally to their holdings.

I.e. let's say I have 1% of current xrb in my wallet, I get 1% of the remaining coins to be distributed.

I think it's fair to anyone and devs can work on raiblocks without having to deal with these daily faucet things.

They want fair distribution. And this idea is great and it's actually fair. You farm yourself or buy from farmers.

If this scheme doesn't fit you, it doesn't mean it is bad. Some projects finish distribution in 1 day and in 30 days it's a dead project with no community...

I created an extension to facilitate the use of solvemedia, with it you do not need to take your hand off the keyboard to change the puzzle.

Google Chrome Extension for "new puzzle" of solvemedia with "CRTL" key

https://www.dropbox.com/s/w0vbkjnd9j7xo35/solvemedia.zip?dl=0

Attention!
The Extension is not a captcha cheater!
It is a help to change the puzzle if you can not read the current one, without having to take your hand off the keyboard.
