Can someone please explain the purpose of WCT in more detail. Is it a good idea to hold these?
This has been discussed at length in this thread so here, fam, I'm not going over it but here's the initial press release. The short answer to your question is yes, fuck yes you should. https://blog.wavesplatform.com/waves-community-tokens-e9e8b5db0b49 If I lease my waves do I still receive monthly Wct distribution? since your WAVES stay in your wallet, you till receive WCT as normal on the 15th

WAVES doesn't need POLO Exactly, we don't. Look at Lisk, it's on Polo, also a promising project... Now compare prices... And soon, with the improvements coming for DEX, we won't need a centralized exchange at all.

SASHA should tell us which assets are valuable and can be traded, even if there is only 1SATOSHI. I do not want the assets in the wallet to be worthless, that is tantamount to rubbish.

Every asset in your wallet can be traded on DEX, all depends on supply and demand Those "spam tokens" endorse the power of Waves, everyone can create a token in 2 clicks on the Waves platform. This low-treshold makes the Waves platform very approachable for new projects. Ofcourse right now it may seem a bit like a "plague" but soon there will be a filter option in the wallet and it's no loger an existing problem. Some of those "spam tokens" are already becoming successful, like MER, RBX and WaaH

I have been leasing a bunch of waves since last week. However, since a couple of days I cannot see my leasing transactions anymore. The Regular/Effective/Generating overview is still correct. I also checked the node owner's website (wavesnode.net) and it shows that the leases are still active (looking fine).
Anyone experiences the same problem?

I think it's a known issue that's taken care of in the next release of the Lite Client. There's an update almost every week now so won't take too long, I expect.

@Turing. Yes, I was checking the slack channel and see more people mentioning the issue. It seems that the issue is beeing addressed. It could be quite and urgent problem for some people who need to cancel their leases to free up waves, but are not able because the leases (and cancel option) are not mentioned (at the moment).

remember mt-gox remember cryptsy centralized exchange, just like central banks letting them hold fund leads to total loss with out the ability to ever get back your coins.
cryptsy still has 9.6 of my dash coins no way to get them back they deleted all account files so even if I make a claim I have to prove that I had an account with I have no way of doing
Its a matter of time before bittrex goes the same way as cryptsy.
that's why I am loving the waves dex this Is the first time in over a year that I feel safe about using an exchange love the project hope to see great things to come.
Is DEX the unique feature of WAVES? If no, which one else has the similar function?

Is DEX the unique feature of WAVES? If no, which one else has the similar function? DEX is one of the features of Waves, also a "non Turing complete" programming language coming, so we can see smart contracts like on ETH and Lisk, not to forget a crowdfund / ICO platform, etc. And ofcourse a new "Bitcoin-NG" like blockchain structure that allows a lot more transactions than it does right now. https://blog.wavesplatform.com/waves-updated-roadmap-2017-f5d75c8f33c7

Is DEX the unique feature of WAVES? If no, which one else has the similar function? DEX is not Waves specific. Other DEX exists already, but they are not -instant- like the Waves DEX. Peoples were not using a lot other DEX because they aren't fast enough, you must wait for the confirmations. With Waves you don't, it's almost as fast as Polo or other centralized exchanges.

per mx on Slack.... mx [10:27 AM] they need to resync again, we will be going through forking issue till desired tech base is in place which will take some time, there are too many significant changes happening with different releases to avoid it, we can only mitigate and improve fork handling in time

And the best part is, coins stay in your wallet until an order is (partially) filled. So no risk of loss or theft, at least not a larger risk than keeping it in a random password protected wallet.

After a bit of chatting with others who were facing the same issue, a helpful dev offered the following temporary solution (they will put it in the faq probably): - download lease/unlease tool from wavesgo ( http://www.wavesgo.com/mining.html) - find tx id - open unlease.exe - follow instructions and bam your transaction is unleased Worked like a charm for me.
