Many here are discussing and speculating that ETH will drop in price after DAO and that's fine and all but really, the DAO is a very nice concept with huge potential considering slock.it. We don't really know for sure how both the DAO tokens and ETH value will behave, if many millions of USD will be split back to ETH before the proposal (making the DAO tokens more scarce and therefore more valuable but hurting the proposals). I tend to agree that many people who bought at $9 just to get in on DAO won't be seeing many benefits in the short term.
But you all have to keep in mind that many invest BTC and some weeks ago BTC was around $430-440, Ethereum price had a quick drop from $14-15 to below $10 but other than that it had remained pretty stable and always aligned and adjusted to BTC fluctuations.
I think some still dont understand, DAO is not a cryptocurrency. Its a token (a share) of a fin-tech company distributed by the coin ethereum. Its an assett not a coin. You cant pay with it. You did well. You can pay with anything not just currency and all crypto currencies are tokens same as dollars ,pounds etc. |

most people have by now probably decided whether they are in or out. personally i'm almost certainly out.
i wonder how long people who are in think it may take to see a tangible return on their investment?
Two years or so: that's my guesstimate. About as long as both Augur and ETH itself (more or less.) |

I am sure slock.it will get funded because slock.it and friends own so much of TheDAO but what if some other proposal proposes the exact same thing as slock.it and offers equity in that company? I think that is a way better deal.

I like that word better yes, "equity" i have to admit after watching that video interview, i am still not that clear on this whole plan of theirs. i understand the votes, splitting, and such, but it's still.... "Where's The Beef?" idk if it was just the excitement of the dude interviewed , but it was confusing and hard to keep along with the whole thing, with random goings off, "what was the question?" I was about to send ETH to buy DAO token and i'm currntly on this page. it says "Send the amount of ETH you want to use to create DAO tokens to the following DAO contract address:" do they mean that if i send my eth to the eth address they prompt to me, i will also receive my DAO on my eth address? Did you happen to see it? what were your thoughts? i personally think they could have done better, and was kinda surprised to have only 40 people watching it with me kinda thought it would have been a bigger interview , more professional, and that they would explain " THE DAO" perfectly. none of those happened imo ;p guess i got caught up in the hype haha |

So I am confused.
There apparently is an option that if you buy Dao, you can simply turn it back into the equivalent ETH once it launches? So if you do this, is that Dao that you were supposed to have destroyed?
Also, can you take turn the Dao into ETH at any time or just at the launch? And what happens to your Dao (and the total supply) when that happens?
