why would people pay 10X at launch when they can buy it today for X?

Why people buy lisk now at 10x when they could buy 10 times less during ico?

the Lisk ICO closed many weeks ago. in the time between then and launch further demand grew organically.

the DAO closes and then immediately launches. everyone who wants to be in it has the opportunity to be in it at X. there is no wait period after it closes for further organic demand to grow.

FOMO, though I doubt very much that it'll go to 10x the final ICO price. Maybe 2x.

Best that I can determine, getting your ETH out requires two votes. The second vote allows you to split off your portion; the associated smart contract sends your ETH to your personal address. So, in your calculations, a month-and-a-half seems reasonable as a start. My own admittedly non-techie intuition says that hardly anyone will go through the procedure, as it's much much simpler & quicker to simply offload your tokens onto an exchange. Doing so, of course, will not affect the ETH still held by The DAO.

10x the various ETH prices on its way up?
10x the final 1.5x ETH price in the last five days of the DAO ICO?

And if there are any worry-warts in the house, here's another one for the worry bump: ETH has gotten really whacked, so 1.5 ETH ain't the same as 1.5 ETH back in the happy-happy days when ETH was $13 - $15.

I think people who bought in for the 1 ETH price will see a nice, small increase but people who buy into the ICO today (1.5 ETH) will hardly see any increase in the short term.

Most successful ICO will definitely have the most successfull launch!
Often do many people realize the true value of a coin only after it appeared.

It is, again, the money. For DAO.security Tual estimated 125,000 ether. Of which include 60,000 the salary of the team, the rest goes to Bug Bounties, external audits and the first update of the DAO framework.

Hasn't ever been a launch like this. With DAO being a concept primarily, built on ETH.

I'm really curious how it'll affect the price of ETH, as folks can trade DAO for ETH and there is no set limit of the amount of DAO created I think it could lead to some downward pressure on ETH but it's a crapshoot. It'll certainly be neat to see it unfold.  Wonder what price it'll be at first on the markets.
