After 6 months of hard working development we are ready to launch the first 100% fully automatic Lottery System based on the Bitcoin Blockchain, we have been testing it for 3 months so we think is pretty robust but we know there is always room for improvement.

For this reason we are looking for 100 reputable members of the community to review the system and let us know what they think.

IMPORTANT
We are closing the Beta Testing Program until all beta testers have played the FREE BTC.

We will contact the beta testers that already left a message but couldn't play, to try our site in a few days, but for the moment we won't be accepting any new beta tester.

In order to qualify you should:

- Have at least 500 posts on BitcoinTalk
- Be willing to leave a review of the site on this thread

Conditions

- If you meet the qualifications please reply to this post with the bitcoin address where you want to receive the FREE ฿ 1 to play.

- You will play at BitMillions.com from the same address where you received the FREE ฿ 1 to play.

- You should play ฿ 1 altogether and as an additional Grand Opening Promotion, the site will automatically give you 1 free play.

- The site can generate the numbers randomly using the transaction hash or you can pick your own numbers.  If you decide to let the system choose for you, you will send just ฿ 1, but if you choose the numbers yourself you may need to send additional decimals to the transaction, as the numbers you pick are equal to the decimals in the transaction. For ex. if you want to play to 10 33 87 56, you will have to send ฿ 1.10338756 and the system will refund you ฿ 0.00338756, but keep in mind that it will automatically take the 0.10 as an additional play.

- After your ticket is completed (all your plays have been played) you will have to leave a review on this thread about your experience or whatever comment you want to leave about the site.

- You will keep all the winnings you get from the ticket. Even if you hit the jackpot you’ll keep all the bitcoins!

If you have any question about the system or how it works, please leave a message in our site post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=138047.0

** The site is open to the public, anyone can play & win! **

Well, I don't meet the post requirement, but as the owner of http://betwithbtc.com I think I have some credibility.  I just updated the "news" section with a post about your site, as well.  My address is 1FX22c76vybHJSJdCCjKHDHhcMDhDX87nw

UPDATE:
The site looks and works great.  I was happy to see everything was labeled through blockchain.info. I sent BTC1 to 1HSDNZYfcevZBNCZjj4y5wyxzbc79a6y32 and won with 2 of the 11 tickets I received.  I got two BTC0.09090909 payments back.  I can see BitMillions.com becoming very popular in the gambling community.  My only feedback would be to make some kind of a profile page where users could look up their address and see statistics.  Great site.  Excellent launch.

The timer seems to have reached zero.

It seems that the clock was set with the user timer.. The correct time is Eastern time, 2:41 hr still to launch.

We are finishing some details, we'll launch soon!!

I don't know what's happening.
I sent 1 BTC + 0.001 BTC fee to that betting address and nothing happened.

EDIT: Both blockchain.info and blockexplorer.com are down -.-

Hi Carlos, thanks for the complements on the design! Smiley
I am the lead developer of the project.

The system uses the first transaction input address as sender, in your transaction
http://blockchain.info/tx/d34c8c35e02417ef828fbda3f6454f7ab608159eacdf80e597093ef956468f93

The first input address is: 17zkBmfGEUHTEXQuV2z3hcM7r7LqQzuxN

If you search on the site by this address you will find it:
http://bitmillions.com/tickets/d34c8c35e02417ef828fbda3f6454f7ab608159eacdf80e597093ef956468f93

For more accuracy you can also look for transaction id on the search box, so you can avoid this kind of confusions.

We still have a few small adjustments to do in the front-end, mostly cosmetic, but the backend is been performing very well for the last 3 months we been testing it.

Any other question, please let me know.

Charly

PS: I am on FreeNode IRC on the #BitMillions channel ( and also in #bitcoin ) is you need something.

Hey cool, thanks for the chance to test this service (and the chance to win).

Because you stated I needed to send it from the exact address I received the 1 BTC on I made a new (empty) wallet to be able to make sure this would happen. However of course there is no money for the transfer fee so I transferred a Bitcent to the address to cover that and will be able to find out whether I win after that confirms.

So far I have taken a look at the site and it looks really smooth and user-friendly. I especially like the linking to third-party operators for buying the needed Bitcoins (widens your target audience I think). So far I have read the FAQ. I must say I had to read it a number of times (can be the time) before I got that the pools were the actual prize pools for regular play based on the number of matches. I initially thought it was a bad beat jackpot or something Tongue

Furthermore

* What is the exact house edge? (10% on losing bets, but what amount of bets wins)

* What are the minimum amounts for the different pools?

* Small mistake: "That tweet generates a tweet ID which you can see in this chart, the tweet ID is used as the key for making a new HMAC SHA-512 HASH of the first hash which finally, gets the last hash. " 'This chart' doesn't point to anything (I wanted to look up how Twitter generates the id).

* Free plays and high roller bonuses was explained well

* After the transaction and entering my address I could immediately see the bet was received but still needed to be confirmed

Edit: it confirmed while I was typing, it is currently playing Smiley (this updated automatically on the "my address page"

Well good luck. I still have 3 out of my 11 rounds left. First 8 were a fluke.

So this is my review of bitmillions. I am not a gambler at all, but it was fun to pick numbers and hope to get one of them. I only won one number, it was cool to see it popup. The design of the site, is very nice and some good UX. In the beginning I was confused as where to start, but as soon as I sent my bitcoins and it confirmed I was able to easily watch my ticket and see how many bitcoins I was winning or losing. I also like how they use many different sudo random numbers to get the winning numbers, from the blockchain and twitter.

Overall great site and I could see it really taking on Satoshi dice as a little more user interaction.

I agree w/ your assessment of the site as with my first comment above I didn't know where to find out if my ticket won or not.  The site can be overwhelming at times but once you start to get used to it things seem to fall in play.  Also, when you click on the payment address to pay I can't "x" out of the ticket - I'm in chrome. Minor but annoying but can't complain never won anything in my life! lol  Tongue

Forget this assessment DO NOT USE THE WEBSITE!

Ticket has being completed! I didn't win anything from the 11 plays (I could have if my TX confirmed a bit earlier!), but the design of the site is nice. I like how you show that you indeed can pay out the jackpot Smiley

Beta tester:

1JR66i29FDEDZ1rJfWZnNaN6ourw1Uzmxu

EDIT:  Ok, my first comment:  I was confused as to what I was supposed to do after sending money to my ticket.  I didn't want to close the "Purchase your Ticket" dialog, because I wasn't sure if I needed to keep it open until something happened.  Turns out, I didn't need to do anything but close it out and add my transaction ID to the end of the URL.  A bit cumbersome.

My suggestion is to have your site actively search out a transaction to the particular address, and as soon as a transaction is detected, use some AJAX magic to create a very obvious link to the winnings page (http://bitmillions.com/tickets/1498ae78a6eb231b0512f942409f80e6f6ee1fefb1044429e99f4d3665eff9fe)

If not that, then at least say something along the lines of "As soon as you send payment, close this dialog and search for your address to find your tickets"

Also, I tried finding my ticket by searching for the pay-to address.  It says "0 tickets found".  (EDIT2: just figured out that I have to search for my send from address)

Also, the address page (http://bitmillions.com/address/1HSDNZYfcevZBNCZjj4y5wyxzbc79a6y32#) says "5 Free Plays Found! Some will expire soon! Click Here to Learn How to Redeem Your Free Plays!", but when I click on it, nothing happens.

All of this said, it's definitely one of the most polished Bitcoin-only sites I've seen at its launch.  Nicely done!

Ok i sent 0.10 BTC to the address however i did not put in any numbers so i think it went to waste

I figured out how to find my ticket with my Wallet Address this was no problem

I now see you click on the QR code and it brings up the numbers and the buy ticket button

After i sent 1 BTC i have worked out how to play, its fun and enjoyable and it has a very professional feel to it very well done sir  Cheesy

I agree with everyone's comments about the site being very well polished from the beginning. I don't qualify for the post count and therefore don't expect anything, but I plan on trying this out as soon as I can simply because it promising. Thank you for presenting us with this game that combines not only transparency, fun, and automation but also professionalism and cleanliness.

The game and its structure might be fun and all, but the site has some problems. Page loads take upwards of fifteen seconds on average, and sometimes I waited well over a minute. Not fun.

The FAQ's got workable explanations, but why does the home page say "send any multiple of .10"? There's a tiny explanation of what to actually send beneath it, but that top line is misleading.

Specifying that the order of the numbers doesn't count would be nice, otherwise there's no real indication for a first-time player that sending .99110123 gets you the exact same pick as .01112399, just with more draws.

Overall, it's cluttered and kinda annoying to use. Why so many ads? And I mean, ads for the site itself? Why? Is this a thing?

* What is the exact house edge? (10% on losing bets, but what amount of bets wins)

* What are the minimum amounts for the different pools?

* Small mistake: "That tweet generates a tweet ID which you can see in this chart, the tweet ID is used as the key for making a new HMAC SHA-512 HASH of the first hash which finally, gets the last hash. " 'This chart' doesn't point to anything (I wanted to look up how Twitter generates the id).

We don’t have house edge. We have a house fee of 10% only in the losing tickets. We have developed this system as a long term and profitable business. We have seen many sites that after a few months had to close down or even worse, we have seen the administrators go away with all the funds. We earn money when people play and win, we charge a house fee not only for profit but also to ensure that the site will have all the security measurements needed and on top of that we will be responsible for replacing any lost BTC in case of any security breach.

Winnings don't have house fees or any deductions for pools. For ex. if you match 1 number, and your ticket price was 0.10, you'll receive 0.10 as we will also cover the transaction fees. The same with the other pools, if your win any of the pools, you'll receive the pool prize + your ticket free of any deduction.

------

Minimum ticket is 0.10, and that will give you 1 play. There are discounts for high rollers, listed in the homepage. The more you play, the more free bonus plays you'll get, meaning that your ticket instead of ฿ 0.10 can be as low as ฿ 0.050. Keep in mind that this is not a multiplier site, it is a lottery site, where you can win a Jackpot of ฿ 1,000 with only ฿ 0.10!

------

About Twitter, now you can see it in the draw page ( for ex http://bitmillions.com/draws/219276 ) when you click verify numbers (bar code). Click "Verify TwitID", you'll go to twitter to the specific tweet used for the calculations where you can find the tweet id on the url.

------

Thanks for your review! Let us know if you have any other question. You can find us on FreeNode IRC on the #BitMillions channel ( and also in #bitcoin ) if you need something

When will you be paying back the 1 BTC?

I think you misunderstood the conditions..

-----------------------

-----------------------

This is done this way so there is a nice and transparent track of the beta tester tickets. Yesterday we sent the first 10 bitcoins to play, today we will send more.. but the beta testers have to wait for the Bitcoin we send to play..

I can send you a BTC to play as a beta tester only if you are willing to play it, I can't do anything about the BTC you already played.. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Alright, here we go...

I received my free Bitcoin to play with http://blockchain.info/tx/ad3cfea9118f3ea94ffe8f270953f0c49da6ff395656fa4d3e3edea53a793c25
And sent my free Bitcoin to play with from the same address http://blockchain.info/tx/dfe2ba7eba28faf38a64a73fdbb3bc138a8ef26c2e48333e4a32b67b1ae43885

The UI is very elegant, and I enjoyed it after getting the hang of it. It isn't too flashy nor tacky, and not plain either. It has a certain sense about it being just right. So I first clicked the address to buy a ticket, and sent my free Bitcoin there. Like SgtSpike, I also left open the pop-up window waiting for it to confirm. From here out, I started to get a bit frusterated trying to figure out what to do next. I read the FAQ over and over again. Perhaps it was the fact that I was playing well after midnight, and maybe a bit tired. I started to worry. "Well this is dumb, just lost a Bitcoin, and didn't even get a ticket." "This should have some sort of login" "How does it even know that I was the person that sent the coin?" "What if someone else is claiming my ticket and using it right now?" But after a little while, I noticed the "Enter Transaction ID or Address to find your Ticket" in the search bar towards the top left. Just entered my address, and bam there was my ticket. But 5 draws were already played, so I thought someone already used it at .2 BTC per draw (Yeah, I was pretty tired). I came back to the page a few minutes later and noticed 6 draws were played. Then the whole thing started to click in my head, and I felt like an idiot lol. I waited until the end, and ended up with 4 extra Free Plays. I couldn't figure out how to use them, so again like SgtSpike I tried clicking the link that says "Click Here to Learn How to Redeem Your Free Plays!" and the "Use them before Expiration!". But it doesn't look like those links are setup yet. A quick check of the FAQ showed that I'd have to send in four more Bitcoins to use the extra plays. Which is a cool concept to draw more people into the game. "4(10+1) = 44 plays" for those of you that are into math. Shortly after the whole ticket was played, I started to recieve my earnings. One by one, they started showing back up in my wallet (I assume it's 6 confirmations for each draw). I lucked out, and got a total of  BTC 4.89285964 if my addition is correct. First time gambling, and won. Woohoo!

Was using Google Chrome Version 24.0.1312.57 m with Windows 7 (64bit)

In short: it was frustrating at first, but I eventually got the hang of it. Granted of course, this is the first time I have ever gambled in my lifetime. But I'm pretty tech-savvy, and didn't expect this much difficulty. Perhaps a better explanation and shorter FAQ might help some future users from having my same problem. But very impressed to see a fully functioning bitcoin website with little to no problems!

Review:
+ Fair play and pools that you can view the balance in.
+ Perfect balance of UI! Not tacky. Not plain either.
+ Safe. Secure. No login or username is needed!
+ Snappy loading. Fast paced.
+/- Easy to use... once you get the hang of it.
+/- FAQ is big. Maybe a bit too big.
- Some links didn't work (i.e. "Click Here to Learn How to Redeem Your Free Plays!")
- Webpage is a bit bland at the bottom. (i.e. "Home | Draws ..." looks like very simple HTML?) Perhaps make it compliment the upper half of the webpage.

EDIT: Didn't have the loading issues or ads that MPOE-PR said he had. But the coins falling sound is a bit annoying. I personally hate websites that make hidden backround noises.

Thanks for your review!! Glad to see more winners!!

We still have a few small adjustments to do in the front-end, mostly cosmetic, a few links, etc. but the backend is been performing very well for the last 3 months we been testing it.

Thanks again and come back within a week, most of this minor details will be gone.

When will you be paying back the 1 BTC?

I think you misunderstood the conditions..

-----------------------

Shoot, looks like I did misread it.

Well, I did post in this thread to receive a free BTC to play.  Guess I'll wait until I get that.

[01][06][26][69]  Grin

Question how do you play for 1 play ?

Do you just send 0.10 BTC ?

Yes, each play is 0.10 BTC. If you want to pick numbers, you have to place the numbers you want to play in the decimals.

But keep in mind that the system interpret each 0.10 as a play, so if you want to play 20 30 40 50 and send 0.20304050 the system will give to 2 plays to 20 30 40 50 and refund you 0.00304050

Play now as the Match 2 Pool is going to be won any minute!! Is at 17 BTC!!

Thanks so much for your comment...

The game and its structure might be fun and all, but the site has some problems. Page loads take upwards of fifteen seconds on average, and sometimes I waited well over a minute. Not fun.

That is very extrange, we host have two high end load-balanced front-end servers with CloudFlare CDN in front of them.
We made several tests ( Ex: http://www.webpagetest.org/result/130203_3D_5MM/ & http://www.webpagetest.org/result/130203_46_5GM/ ) and we always get around 65 to 90 secs on the first load and about half on subsequent calls, which is pretty good.

Anyways still some optimizations that we need to do, especially to speed up JavaScript rendering and we are working into that.

The FAQ's got workable explanations, but why does the home page say "send any multiple of .10"? There's a tiny explanation of what to actually send beneath it, but that top line is misleading.

We definitely need some work over there...

Specifying that the order of the numbers doesn't count would be nice, otherwise there's no real indication for a first-time player that sending .99110123 gets you the exact same pick as .01112399, just with more draws.

Good point, thanks... just one detail, since .01112399 is under 0.10 the bet will be invalid, it should be .11012399 and you will get a refund of .01012399, if you bet .99110123 you are buying 9 tickets are getting a .09110123 refund.

Overall, it's cluttered and kinda annoying to use. Why so many ads? And I mean, ads for the site itself? Why? Is this a thing?

We try to make the site as clean as possible... banners will be use to promote promotions we will have very soon... you'll see Smiley

I think you misunderstood the conditions

Whoops...sorry about that.

How do you even send BTC from the same address, it just sends from whatever address it feels like.  Huh

For ex. if you want to play to 10 33 87 56, you will have to send ฿ 1.10338756 and the system will refund you ฿ 0.00338756, but keep in mind that it will automatically take the 0.10 as an additional play.

- After your ticket is completed (all your plays have been played) you will have to leave a review on this thread about your experience or whatever comment you want to leave about the site.

- You will keep all the winnings you get from the ticket. Even if you hit the jackpot you’ll keep all the bitcoins!

Whoops...sorry about that.

How do you even send BTC from the same address, it just sends from whatever address it feels like.  Huh

I created a separate Wallet file with only that address to accomplish this.

Your options now are:

1) Export the private key from your wallet and import into a new wallet
2) If you want to send from your normal wallet make a raw transaction (be careful!) and specify the input explicitly.
3) I think Armory supports creating explicit transactions but I haven't used that feature so I'm not sure

I guess is depending what client do you use... BlockChain.info gives you a lot a granularity control, were you can chose the address to use, but the Satoshi Client doesn't give you that flexibility.

I think you misunderstood the conditions

I used a blockchain.info address to accomplish that.

- You will play at BitMillions.com from the same address where you received the FREE ฿ 1 to play.

The newest BTC (windows) client doesn't have a from address field under send coins, and I don't see how to change the default.
Could someone please fill me in on how to set the from address?
Thanks

Use a disposable wallet, like blockchain.info or instawallet.  Post the address generated from that wallet here.

Use a disposable wallet, like blockchain.info or instawallet.  Post the address generated from that wallet here.

The last time I used instawallet it was a shared wallet.  It didn't send from 'my' address, but from any address in the shared wallet.  If that's still the case then it's unsuitable for this site.

To send from a certain address in the reference bitcoin client you need to use the 'raw transactions' commands, which is kind of awkward.  Better to make a blockchain.info mywallet account.

Noted, just a small question here. Do I just send the 1 BTC directly to the address at the site, and it'll automatically 'play' 11 times for me and send the results back like SatoshiDice?

Yes.
It won't send anything back if you lose, I think.

To see the results, paste the txid in that search field in the top bar.

Yes, as a Grand Opening Promo, until Feb 28 the site will give you 1 FREE PLAY each time you play at least 1 btc. But if you play 2 btc, it will give you also 1 FREE PLAY, so the best value is to play 1 btc at the time.. you can choose the numbers in any case.

Yes, the system automatically will send you the results back, the winnings. If you lose all the 11 plays, the system won't send you back any amount.

That is a Draw, not a ticket. Fees are specified in "Funds Paid on this Draw"

What does the '1m' means?
We are working on that, it will say how many minutes ago was the draw.

I was going to wait until after playing to tell you about the typos I found on the site, but it looks like you're not going to send me the coin to play with any time soon, so I may as well tell you now:

http://bitmillions.com/faq

> All the hashes of the keys of the next draw are available at *this link* in order to validate that the hash for the key that was used was the correct one after the play has finished.
what link?

working on?

> The only addresses that are kept offline at all time are

> not enough to cover the price for one ticket (i.e. 0,10 BTC.)

use . for decimals (or at least be consistent)

> If for some reason or system fail
system fail is a reason too, so just "If for any reason" would be better

> use standard clients to avoid this kind of problems
'these kinds of problems' or 'this kind of problem'

I was going to wait until after playing to tell you about the typos I found on the site, but it looks like you're not going to send me the coin to play with any time soon, so I may as well tell you now:

http://bitmillions.com/faq

> All the hashes of the keys of the next draw are available at *this link* in order to validate that the hash for the key that was used was the correct one after the play has finished.
what link?

> we are working in many details now
working on?

> The only addresses that are kept offline at all time are
at all timeS

> not enough to cover the price for one ticket (i.e. 0,10 BTC.)
> a prize different from 0.10 BTC.
use . for decimals (or at least be consistent)

> If for some reason or system fail
system fail is a reason too, so just "If for any reason" would be better

> a refund will be issue to the sending address
issueD

> use standard clients to avoid this kind of problems
'these kinds of problems' or 'this kind of problem'

Well, thank you so much! Still improving our english, may take some time  Grin

We will send your coin in 2 or 3 days, we use all the reviews to improve the user experience otherwise, all the testers will have the same comments. Most of our details are in the front end, as the back end it's been working perfectly since 3 months. So thanks again! We'll take note and make all the changes needed!

The site's very pretty by the way - I love the design.  I tend to point out only the bad stuff I find, because that's the stuff that needs attention.

In "10. How are the random numbers generated?" I think you should mention how you pick a player's numbers if they don't pick their own ones.  It's not clear at the moment whether you just pick them randomly, or whether you use a provably fair technique for that too.  I see elsewhere on the site that it is provably fair, but think the FAQ should mention it too.

Do you want us to play it all on a single ticket?

I realise that's the best value for us, but maybe it's better to vary the testing a bit?

Just a quick numbers-crunch on the jackpot...

I'm assuming a full 4-number match will give a person the jackpot?  A cursory glance at the draws list shows numbers between 03 and 99 - I'm assuming the potential draws are 00-99.

00-99 = 100 possibilities

100 ^ 4 = 100,000,000

You get 11 draws per 1 BTC so...

You have a 1/9,090,909 chance to win 1400 BTC each time you send in 1 BTC.

Anyone care to calculate the odds on 1, 2, and 3 matches?  I lost all my maths skills after being done with the university for too long.  Sad

Here are the Odds of winning

4 Matches Odds : 1 in 3,921,225
3 Matches Odds : 1 in 10,211
2 Matches Odds : 1 in 143
1 Matches Odds : 1 in 6.86

Source: http://www.lottogenie.com/html/odds.html

You should divide these Odds for the numbers of ticket.

Do if for example you play 1 BTC & get 11 Plays, Odds need to be divided by 11

Ex. With 11 Plays:

4 Matches Odds : 1 in 356,475
3 Matches Odds : 1 in 928.27
2 Matches Odds : 1 in 13
1 Matches Odds : 1 in 0.62 ( Meaning you have 62 % changes of matching one, agains 38 % of matching none )

I imagine if this takes off the jackpot will grow to an astronomical size and be big news when it finally hits.

Some will figure out pretty quickly that 2 numbers hitting is better than even money right now. I hope it takes a while longer for everyone to catch on so I can finish my free plays. Cheesy

I'm curious what the calculation is... but those odds are per draw, so per 0.1 BTC, you have a 3,921,225 chance of winning.

I didn't take into account the fact that the same number cannot be used more than once, so that would make the calculation 100 * 99 * 98 * 97, but even that is still 94,109,400.  Where does 3,921,225 come from?

If you check on the second message, I posted the results of our simulations, the Jackpot could get up to 100.000 BTC or more! So if you take into consideration that:

State Loteries

- 40% Goverment & Administration Fees (*1)
- 30% Lump Sum Deduction (*2)
- 43% Goverment Taxes Deduction (*2)

Player Paid $10.000.000.- in Tickets

JackPot is $6.000.000.-

Paid as Lump Sum: $3.900.000.-

After Taxes: $2.223.000

BitMillions

Player Paid BTC 500.000.- in Tickets

JackPot is BTC 465.000

Is fully paid as Lump Sump & with no Tax Deductions ( Each Player is responsable for reporting to his Tax Jurisdiction )

In Sumary

At same amount of Bets

BitMillions will Paid: BTC 450.000 ( $9.300.000 )
State Loteries Paid: $2.223.000

Of course this is a basic example, since there is Sale Taxes, Smaller Jackpots, etc, that are not tacked into consideration.

And we are not even talking about the transparency and the Provably Fair Winning Number that make it imposible to the operator to cheat on the results.

Sources:

(*1) http://www.ncsl.org/issues-research/econ/lottery-payouts-and-state-revenue-2010.aspx
(*2) http://www.forbes.com/sites/janetnovack/2012/08/15/how-much-tax-will-you-owe-on-that-320-million-powerball-jackpot/

Disclamer: Since we only charge in Lossing Bets, and chances of matching 1 are 1 in 6.86 we estimate that the house fee is around 7% and not 10%

That doesn't explain the mathematics of multi-number draws.

But, I just remembered where I went wrong.  The first draw can match any of the four picked numbers.  So it has a 4/100 (or 1/25) chance of matching.  Not sure how to extrapolate the rest of the chances though, it gets complicated.

EDIT:  Also, I do hope you are successful and eventually reach a large jackpot...!

Okay tried it out:

What i would like added is: A wizzard with clickable numbers and a selection of the number of draws wanted, to generate the exact amount to be payed. Fiddeling with decimals and making sure the amount is divisible with 0.10, is still too neerdy.

Instead of the auto betting feature, if you deposit an amount with "oooooo" decimals, you could implement that the wizzard pops up suggesting the last numbers played, based on your previous bet from that address.

Generally I like the look and feel of your site and the level of info you can get on your bets if you click around, without cluttering the main page with menus.

So a lot better than SatoshiDice, but remember this is not a gambling site to get Bitcoiners to play more, it's a site to make gamblers use Bitcoin more.

Thanks for the experience

How do the free plays work? My ticket shows 3 pending free plays but Im not sure if I really won them or not.

My ticket: https://bitmillions.com/address/1Q6RiGqbWU92gsfeCXraKGz6rbtBqFJrb9

clicking "Use them before Expiration!" does nothing.

IMPORTANT

We are closing the Beta Testing Program until all beta testers have played the FREE BTC.

We will contact the beta testers that already left a message but couldn't play, to try our site in a few days, but for the moment we won't be accepting any new beta tester.

In order to purchase a ticket, they have to send funds to the site.  In order to send funds to the site, a block must be solved.  They would have to include the winning numbers in the block they solve, which they wouldn't know until they solved the block.  There'd be no way to cheat the system in this way.

Since I prematurely reviewed the site, I'll update:
Beta tester:

1JR66i29FDEDZ1rJfWZnNaN6ourw1Uzmxu

EDIT:  Ok, my first comment:  I was confused as to what I was supposed to do after sending money to my ticket.  I didn't want to close the "Purchase your Ticket" dialog, because I wasn't sure if I needed to keep it open until something happened.  Turns out, I didn't need to do anything but close it out and add my transaction ID to the end of the URL.  A bit cumbersome.  UPDATE:  You should still add a message about what to do after sending the money to the ticket.

My suggestion is to have your site actively search out a transaction to the particular address, and as soon as a transaction is detected, use some AJAX magic to create a very obvious link to the winnings page (http://bitmillions.com/tickets/1498ae78a6eb231b0512f942409f80e6f6ee1fefb1044429e99f4d3665eff9fe) (Not sure if you've done this since the first time I played)

Fixed!

All of this said, it's definitely one of the most polished Bitcoin-only sites I've seen at its launch.  Nicely done!
Nothing really new to add to this since my previous play.

I'm unclear about how to reclaim "free plays pending". I'm up about 5.5BTC, thanks guys!
From the FAQ:  "You can use your Free Plays any time after they have been confirmed. Once confirmed, they will appear in all your tickets and also in the detail page of all your bets. For each Free Play you want to use, you have to play 1 BTC. For instance, if you want to use four Free Plays, you have to bet 4 BTC."

Well done! If this is your ticket
https://bitmillions.com/tickets/936bedcb47a16265a78efc71a8713cec7c1636064775852fefe9cb570b9adf88:0

The 5 Free Plays are linked with your Address 1CoC5MJrik28oSHXEBAZftqfcN9EtZajjW
https://bitmillions.com/address/1CoC5MJrik28oSHXEBAZftqfcN9EtZajjW

When you send a new ticket, the system will check if the sender have any free plays pending, is so it will calculate how many free play it can used based on the bet amount.

maxFreePlays = Bet Amount / 1 BTC

If you send 1 BTC you will be able to use 1 Free Play, if you send 5 BTC, you will be able to use 5 Free Plays and so on..

I was curious too, so I played with a Python script to work it out...

Quote
#!/usr/bin/env python

def factorial(x):
  if x < 2: return 1
  return x * factorial(x - 1)

def p(n, k): return factorial(n) / factorial(n - k)

def c(n, k): return p(n, k) / factorial(k)

max = 100                       # how many different numbers there are
pick = 4                        # how many numbers we get to pick

all = p(max, pick)
for matched in range(pick+1):   # how many of our numbers are matched
unmatched = pick - matched  # how many of our numbers aren't matched
bad = max - pick            # bad numbers for us
    # (which of our numbers are going to match) * (which positions they're in) * (what the non-matching numbers will be)
    ways =           c(pick, matched)           *       p(pick, matched)       *            p(bad, unmatched)
    print "match %d : %8d / %8d = %8.5f%% or 1 in %f" % (matched, ways, all, ways*100.0/all, float(all)/ways)

Quote
$ ./millions.py
match 0 : 79727040 / 94109400 = 84.71740% or 1 in 1.180395
match 1 : 13716480 / 94109400 = 14.57504% or 1 in 6.861046
match 2 :   656640 / 94109400 =  0.69774% or 1 in 143.319627
match 3 :     9216 / 94109400 =  0.00979% or 1 in 10211.523438
match 4 :       24 / 94109400 =  0.00003% or 1 in 3921225.000000
$

Edit: think about how many different orders there are that you could write down your 4 numbers once you've picked them.  There are 4 ways of picking which of the 4 to put first.  For each of those 4 selections there are 3 choices for what to put 2nd.  So there are 4*3 = 12 ways of selecting the first two numbers.  And for each of those there are 2 ways of ordering the last 2 numbers, giving a total of 4*3*2*1 = 24 ways of listing your 4 numbers.

There are 100*99*98*97 different possible draws, if we treat different orders as different draws.  It's like you have 24 different tickets in a game where order matters.

So your probability of winning the jackpot is (4*3*2*1) / (100*99*98*97).

Now, how many ways of matching 3 numbers are there?  Well, there are 4 (A) different ways to pick which 3 numbers are going to match (because there are 4 ways of picking which number isn't going to match).  For each of these 4 sets of 3 matching numbers, there are 4 (B) ways of choosing which position isn't going to match, and 3*2*1 = 6 (C) ways of ordering the 3 numbers in the other 3 positions.  Finally there are 96 (D) choices for what the non-matching number is going to be.  In total that makes A*B*C*D = 4*4*6*96 = 9216 ways to match 3 numbers.

So the probability of matching 3 numbers is 9216 / (100*99*98*97).

Etc.  Smiley

Here's my critical review.

https://bitmillions.com/assets/images/icon_3.png

here's another on the verification popup
https://bitmillions.com/assets/images/warrenty.png
first, warranty, not warrenty.

second, it makes it look like a scam to have this meaningless phrase on a gold sticker. The information on the page is enough.

One more thing to look out for... all stock photos of people smiling happy/surprised people. says either cheap or scam to me.

FEATURE REQUEST:

When a ticket page is up, it should auto refresh every minute or so. By hovering on the draw# for each entry in a ticket, display the winning numbers. Some people like to see that they were, "oh, just one off! oh man!".

Show the net amount someone will win. Seeing one value and getting less than that on the transfer is disappointing.

Increase the pay amount of the match 1 to .1 or better yet .10000777 - seeing a positive return has a strong psychological effect.

SUMMARY:

I imagine this can be something similar to keno. An activity for a group of friends at a restaurant or even climbing a flipping mountain, lol.

It has a nice peek behind the curtain that keno doesn't provide.

I'm happy to clarify anything with a phone call. Great Job, looking forward to the public release!

IMPORTANT

We are closing the Beta Testing Program until all beta testers have played the FREE BTC.

We will contact the beta testers that already left a message but couldn't play, to try our site in a few days, but for the moment we won't be accepting any new beta tester.

I was about an hour late. Gee.

Did you see buy ticket popup we have now? Don't you think this popup accomplish just that?

No I didn't see a popup. I'm on Firefox / Ubuntu.

Click on the QRCode or the Betting Address, you can enter the numbers on the balls or click random. Do you think that is clear enough?

It's clear now that you've told us about it, but it's not discoverable.  There's no clue that clicking on a QR code will allow you to select the numbers...

Also:

"you will receiveD no plays" should be "receive".

And if any of the numbers you select are less than 10, it says to send BTC Invalid.  You should pick the lowest number that's greater than 9 as the first one.  It looks like you're picking just the lowest one at the moment.

I have played with free Bitcoin you gave me https://blockchain.info/tx/a266125d9a8842bcefed80517628e7f5a9c8390e03f48cabc24cfbefb695bf85 and won 0.09 BTC.

BitMillions website looks awesome and creates impression of a solid company. But, honestly, I would never risk my own Bitcoins because winning odds are very slim and bet amount (0.1 BTC ~ $2) is too high IMHO.

Played and won .1818 BTC! Whoo, ~$4 for me! I like the site a lot. As the others have said, the design is very appealing. I was a little confused on how the free plays worked.

Quote
Some of your free plays will expire if not use within the next 100 Blocks. Use them Now!

^ That led me to believe that I had to do something to use my free play, and I didn't know how to use it. Eventually I figured out that it just plays it automatically. Other than that, everything was very clear to me.

The other day, my brother caught be saying "Some day, when I have money (...)" and he told me, "You're an adult who has money now. You don't get to say that anymore. Adults say 'Some day, when I win the lottery.'" So, I think I'll be buying a bitmillions ticket once a day now.

To me, "free play" is a bit misleading as it's not really free.  If you need to spend 1BTC to use it, that's not free.  I think calling it a bonus play or something similar is a bit more accurate.

Also there's a typo on the ticket page:

Quote
You will be able to use only one free play for each BTC you bet on your next ticket. Some of your free plays will expire if not use within the next 100 Blocks. Use them Now!

I just visited the front page and it was kind of blank.  The page had finished loading (blue arrows in top left, not red circle) but the pool amounts aren't showing:

We are having some problem with our hosting provider, they claim to be under DDOS... working it that now.. :]

[EDIT] Problem has been resolved now... and network issue between our Costa Rica Servers and CloudFlare, is important to notice that the issue only affected the front-end, since the back-end was still processing Draws, Tickets & Payments

[EDIT2] Back with some issues, already escalated the issue to the network admin.

Played the site with the free BTC...

Was kind of fun. A bit confusing, but it is a very well made site.

I didn't win the jackpot, which was lame. Also, no 0-conf returns, it took me ~2confs to see the result.

Displaying 4 Rounds
Does that mean mine is waiting, or should I click somewhere?

It's done now...

The site has a nice modern design. It loads "properly" every time in Chrome, but (at this time) the center sometimes/frequently comes up blank in Firefox.

When you can afford it, I suggest a much higher jackpot, so you attract people who regularly play lotteries. Overall, it's a well-made project.

ps. I don't see the (11th) bonus round, how do we get that?

Your ticket still active, 10 Rounds have been played, so you have one more to finish.

about 2 confs as well. Site is designed quite well.

Why not make another section for smaller plays? Like 0.01 BTC, or 0.001 BTC
for minor jackpots, or smaller prizes. Or make a game where you put your number,
like 4, and a number it spits out 1-10, if it matches your number you get a free play.
Basically if you win your 0.01 BTC gets a 0.1 BTC play into the bigger game.

And make it adjustable too, so someone can put 0.001 BTC, with a 1/100 odds of getting a 0.1 BTC ticket.

This would bring more players, and some with low BTC balance that just want to test it.

Just some ideas.

.
.BIG WINNER!.

What will you guys do in case Bitcoin price rises dramatically?
I mean, if (example) Bitcoin rises to $200, 0.10 BTC would be $20, which is quite expensive for a ticket.

- okay first up, yes the site looks great, however unless you are affiliated with SatoshiDICE, the green with stripes was a poor choice, simply because it looks like a copy.

- when in the modal window, it just said "1 Play" with no mention at all about multiple tickets. It wasn't very obvious what the protocol was for sending more than the displayed amount, and getting multiple entries. Perhaps all that is written elsewhere on the site, but i think it should have been mentioned somewhere in that window.

- when choosing numbers, it won't accept numbers from my number pad even though NUM LOCK was most definitely on. I don't know if that's just a chrome thing or not but it would only accept numbers from above the qwerty...

- after entering the first number, i think it should auto-place the cursor into the second input. kind of like how some credit card forms are designed.

- after i played, i got 12 tickets for 1.10111213. So if i had chosen 09 instead of 10, i would have only got 11 tickets. This is fair enough as you still get the refund, however...

- i think the refund (0.00111213) should have been sent to me as a separate transaction instead of lumped in with something else.

- the "waiting for first confirmation" page stalled - i had to refresh the page because it was still "waiting for confirmations" even after blockchain.info showed many blocks had passed.

- i thought by buying 12 tickets at once, it would only *play* once, but i'd 12x the normal payout. this is so obviously wrong when you actually read the rules, but if i assumed it, assume others will also Cheesy it took me a little bit to see that it's actually playing 12 rounds, over the next 12 blocks, with just 0.1 riding on each one.

- on the tickets page, i think there should be some 'home' link somewhere at the top left, instead of finding 'home' in the footer menu.

- ultimately i'm up 0.174 on the deal Cheesy cheers

https://bitmillions.com/draws/219739

there are 9 entries on that round.

however...

the page says Displaying the first 10 Rounds with a button that says Show 10 More Rounds ...and this button is still enabled!

clicking that button increases the statement to:

Displaying the first 20 Rounds    ...even though of course only 9 rounds are displayed.

in fact, clicking it many times it just keeps going up...

Displaying the first 240 Rounds

...and i just realised the window where you choose numbers has a button that says RAMDOM.

last bug report before i close this site...

If the 4th number entered into Your Lucky Numbers is less than 10, it shows:

Send ฿ Invalid to

edit: actually it's doing that whenever any of the numbers is less than 10.

...also a little warning message would be nice if 2 same numbers are input. instead it just says Send 0.1000000.

I had a kernel panic when I typed my full review hours ago.  Angry Angry

I'll just summarize my experiences here -

When I tried to use the 'random' button when buying the ticket, I frequently saw the site popping up with 'Send ฿ Invalid to' if the leftmost number is a single digit. I understand that it is not wrong, but it would be annoying or confusing to new users.
Also, there's various typos and grammatical errors including the one I've sent to you via PM and this 'You will received x Plays!' ,'30% pool retain_ for future draws', 'For example, if you bet 5.00 BTC you'll get 52 plays, so the each play will be 0.09615385 instead of 0.10.' and etc.

Also, this:
Quote
- okay first up, yes the site looks great, however unless you are affiliated with SatoshiDICE, the green with stripes was a poor choice, simply because it looks like a copy.

and:

Quote
- i thought by buying 12 tickets at once, it would only *play* once, but i'd 12x the normal payout. this is so obviously wrong when you actually read the rules, but if i assumed it, assume others will also  it took me a little bit to see that it's actually playing 12 rounds, over the next 12 blocks, with just 0.1 riding on each one.

I played 1 BTC total, and won 0.09090909 on two separate tickets, netting 0.18181818 in total. I'd say that having variable amounts betted like SD does is also an invaluable feature, and you could probably allow people to bet 0.01-100BTC of their choosing.

This guy bought multiple tickets in a single transaction.  All the ticket numbers look the same in the list.  It would be better if they looked different.  Maybe put the :1 or :2 at the end to distinguish them.

UPDATE

Thank you to all the beta testers and users that helped us improve our site experience, we are still working in some of the improvements of the site, but feel free to leave us feedback.

Based on the latest increased of the BTC price, we have decided to lower the ticket price to 0.01 BTC. Everything will be the same, so players will have more fun, for way less money! And pools are incredible high for a price of 0.01 BTC!

With these changes with only 1 BTC players will have 110 plays, almost a day of playing!

Grand Opening Bonus Tickets & High Rollers Discounts were adjusted accordingly.

Pool retain was increased to 50%.

Players are still able to choose the numbers in the same way as before, just pick your lucky numbers on decimals in the transaction.

If I search for an address, I see:

"Win ฿ 1,000 instantly with only ฿ 0.10!"

That should say "only 0.01" now, right?

Also, on my address page I see "5 Free Plays Pending" but I only sent 5 payments of 0.1 each.  The tip at the top says "Tip: Did you know that every time you buy a ticket for at least ฿ 1 you receive Free Bonus Plays?".  I didn't buy for at least 1.0 though.

Edit: Oh, I see, I get free plays whenever I match something.

The FAQ:

"The payments for each winning ticket are made when the block is confirmed. When the block ends, all the relevant calculations are made and payments are processed after 6 confirmations."

I think it would be clearer if you said what needs 6 confirmations.  My bet, or the block on which my bet won.

Oh, another thing:

When I search for the address I used to buy 5 tickets with, I see the 5 tickets, but nothing about how much they won.  I seem to have to click all 5 tickets individually to see winnings.  There's a green button with the ticket price on it next to each ticket.  Perhaps that could show the winnings instead?  I can't even tell if any of the tickets matched more than single numbers, except by checking on the left ("10 Free Plays Pending"), adding up the wins-per-ticket (3+2+1+1+2 = 9) and deducing that I must have hit pot 2 once, and hit single numbers 8 times.

None of the recent payout transactions have confirmed.  I think it's because of this transaction having too-low a fee.  It's 16.6kB which means the fee should be at least 17 * 0.0005 = 0.0085 BTC, but you only included 0.0015 BTC fee.

Here's the transaction at http://bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin/txlist/ showing up as 'low priority' and unconfirmed 2 hours after it was sent:

Note that transactions up to 10,000 bytes can be free (depending on the size and age of the inputs), but over that there's a minimum fee of 0.0055 BTC (0.0005 BTC per 1000 bytes or part thereof), so it might be worth breaking your transactions up into a series of smaller ones.

Another thing:

Every one of your payout transactions depends on the previous payout transaction, in a big long chain.

If a single one of your betters ever double-spends to buy a ticket, you'll end up with none of your payouts ever confirming, because they'll all depend on the double-spend that will never confirm.

What will happen when you have a million people buying tickets for each draw?  You can't have a million inputs to a transaction - it will make the transaction bigger than the maximum allowed block size.

We will review our TxFee Policy, but if you check here
http://blockchain.info/address/1EnHPvDZfG9CzwK4Ai9ZpT6t7iJWPSCp77

Most Transactions seems to confirm just fine... looks like the problem only caused when there is a lot of ticket purchased in a single Draw.

[EDIT] The problem seams to be when a TX is more than 1000 bytes as you pointed out. Looking into it.

Every one of your payout transactions depends on the previous payout transaction, in a big long chain.

If a single one of your betters ever double-spends to buy a ticket, you'll end up with none of your payouts ever confirming, because they'll all depend on the double-spend that will never confirm.

A Double spend transaction will never made it up to this point, all the tickets included on the transaction have already 6 confirmations.

What will happen when you have a million people buying tickets for each draw?  You can't have a million inputs to a transaction - it will make the transaction bigger than the maximum allowed block size.

I don't think we will get to that point, specially because our idea is to launch mode games with diferente prizing, etc... but if that is the case and he do get to that point, I guess we will be forced to break the transaction up in a few parts... hopeful we still have time for that to happen.

I said 10,000, but whatever.  You'll look at your fee policy and make sure you're including the correct fees.  Then everything will work out.

A Double spend transaction will never made it up to this point, all the tickets included on the transaction have already 6 confirmations.

That's a very good point.  So it's just a matter of paying the right amount of tx fee to get timely confirmations.

I owe you guys a review  Smiley

I'm impressed with the design of the site, very few Bitcoin businesses look as professional as this one does at launch.  Betting is straightforward, although in my opinion the number picking is somewhat cumbersome as it is impossible to pick all 4 numbers when placing a single bet.  The free plays are also nearly worthless as 1BTC already adds a single free play.  Adding 2, 3, and 4 free plays to the jackpots is kind of silly, too.  Depending on the transactions used to bet, it can be difficult to use the same inputs to claim free plays.  Besides these nitpicks, the site is easy to use and the detailed information on each draw is well presented.

BitMillions is a credible competitor to SatoshiDice.  It has more replay value in my opinion, offers no risk to the owners once the jackpots are initially seeded, and is sometimes even +EV for players, driving traffic to the site.

speaking of nitpicks, i can't believe people were complaining about a ~$2 ticket price... seriously i think it should have stayed at 0.1.

The problem has been fixed, looks like Firefox doesn't support MP3 Files on it Audio API, sound effect was replaced with the .ogg file extension and the problem was resolved. I tested on the last Firefox version and seams to be working fine now.

Could some some please confirm you can see it correctly on Firefox now?

The free plays are also nearly worthless as 1BTC already adds a single free play.

If you're talking about the 'high roller bonuses' then it looks like you need to spend at least 5 BTC to get free plays now, and those free plays happen automatically; you don't have to claim them.

The free plays you get for winning, on the other hand, are hard to claim.  The FAQ says: "For each Free Play you want to use, you have to play 1 BTC".  That means you have to play 100 draws to claim one free play (maybe the FAQ is out of date, and should say 0.1 BTC, who knows...).  Those 100 draws will on average earn you about 15 more free plays, which you'll also have to claim.  So you'll end up with more free plays than you can ever claim.  In effect, every 100 draws you pay for will give you 101 draws.

Please let me know if my analysis is wrong here.

With the new Price Structure, Free Plays can be redeemed by playing BTC0.10, so if you play BTC0.10 and had free plays from previous winner rounds, you will get 11 plays instead of 10 plays.

wow I can't believe how late I am on BitMillions.

bravo OP / amazing site.

I bought some tickets today of course.  I will be covering this site in my next Bitcoin Magazine gambling article.  Absolutely brilliant.  Tough fight between this and bitcoinvideopoker for best new pure btc gaming site recently.

love seeing projects like this pop up - and also pretty awesome how you did all the work then just dropped it on the community almost perfect - really, really great job.

I will be firing.  This will create another good blockchain stress test similar to SatoshiDice - I think this will be that level of popular.

It's unreasonable to ask people to delete their entire browser cache whenever you update your site.  The cache is there to prevent me having to download the same pages over and over.

Is there no way you can get my browser to notice that you've changed the FAQ page without me deleting my whole cache?

I've viewer the site in a different browser, and the FAQ really is different there.  I'd like to be able to see the new FAQ in my regular browser without then having to re-download all the pages I usually have in my cache.

all he needs to do is add ?v=1.1 on his links, or ?v=1.2 ?v=1.3 etc, etc.

or if he's using codeigniter-style urls it could work by putting some other dummy variable on the end:

eg. change http://blah.com/faq/v1 to http://blah.com/faq/v2  where the 'faq' code may decide to just ignore the version variable

then your browser won't show you the cache because it'll think it's a totally different page.

Take a look at the source code for https://bitmillions.com/faq - it's just a little javascript, which presumably loads the FAQ content.  I tried loading https://bitmillions.com/faq?really! but it gives me the same old cached content since the javascript hasn't changed, it's the deeper content that has.

I agree... still a lot optimization to be done, template pre-compilation, etc... once all that is finished it will be pre-packaged and versioned, to avoid this kind of problems. We tried to launch the site as good as possible, and even when we knew of some of these problems, we decided not to delay the launch any longer (We delayed a couple times) and keep working in these important details along the way.

Anyways thanks a lot for all your input, is greatly appreciated!

the number picking is somewhat cumbersome as it is impossible to pick all 4 numbers when placing a single bet

i was thinking about this today and thought a possible solution would be to only let people sending 1+ btc choose 4 numbers (and win the biggest jackpot)

eg:

bet 1.wwxxyyzz   ...let's you choose 4 numbers
bet 0.01xxyyzz ...people betting less than 1 BTC can only pick 3 numbers and are therefore not eligible for the top prize

bet 1.wwxxyyzz   ...let's you choose 4 numbers
bet 0.01xxyyzz ...people betting less than 1 BTC can only pick 3 numbers and are therefore not eligible for the top prize

That would really reduce the expected payout per bet for the people betting less than 1 BTC.  Not only can they not win the jackpot. but they also have greatly decreased odds of winning the match-3 pot.

On a different subject, if I buy multiple tickets in a single transaction but don't specify what numbers I want, do you make sure that no two of my tickets are exactly as same as each other?  I'm happy to let you pick my numbers, but I'd like you to filter out duplicates if possible.

the number picking is somewhat cumbersome as it is impossible to pick all 4 numbers when placing a single bet

Yes, we know is not the most ideal way... but we thought it will be easier than having a huge form like other site have... also we wanted the number selection to be transparent, so there is no way operator can cheat on that.

i was thinking about this today and thought a possible solution would be to only let people sending 1+ btc choose 4 numbers (and win the biggest jackpot)

eg:

bet 1.wwxxyyzz   ...let's you choose 4 numbers
bet 0.01xxyyzz ...people betting less than 1 BTC can only pick 3 numbers and are therefore not eligible for the top prize

If you think about it is pretty similar of that we have right now... if you bet 0.01xxyyzz, you are already choosing 3 of the 4 numbers and only will will the Jackpot is the Jackpot includes "01" on it... which in theory should come only once every 100 Jackpots.

On a different subject, if I buy multiple tickets in a single transaction but don't specify what numbers I want, do you make sure that no two of my tickets are exactly as same as each other?  I'm happy to let you pick my numbers, but I'd like you to filter out duplicates if possible.

That is the reason why we do a HMAC-SHA516( TX Index, TX Hash ) before converting the hash to decimal... by doing so, is almost imposible to get the same numbers on ticket bought in the same transaction.

Not sure if you seen it, but if you go to
https://bitmillions.com/tickets/c9601a559a74a294f1f1e50f2aad1ee340fa75026e5c4b9ec8388d1e88f2b9fa:0
And click on "Click to Verify Numbers" ( Barcode ) you will see how the numbers are generated.

[...] the Jackpot includes "01" on it... which in theory should come only once every 100 Jackpots.

Once every 25 jackpots!

There are (100*99*98*97) / (1*2*3*4) = 3921225 different combinations of 4 numbers
There are (99*98*97) / (1*2*3) = 156849 different combinations which contain 01
3921225 / 156849 = 25

That is the reason why we do a HMAC-SHA516( TX Index, TX Hash ) before converting the hash to decimal... by doing so, is almost imposible to get the same numbers on ticket bought in the same transaction.

It's only as impossible for any two tickets to get the same numbers as it is to hit the jackpot.  But as the number of tickets goes up, the probability of a collision goes up exponentially.  It's known as the birthday problem.

And it's sha512, not sha516!

Here's an issue I am having with BitMillions...

I bet .5 BTC (and won more than I bet!, but that's not the issue), and it came from one of the "unseen" address in my wallet.dat file. So, even though it sent from my wallet, I don't know how to use the free plays. I earned 8 of them the site says, but there's no way of me sending in more BTC to play them from that exact wallet address I believe. Sure, I could probably go and dig around in the wallet via PyWallet I guess, maybe? But that seems such a waste of time. .10BTC to use free plays means the house is going to win more likely than not for just 8 free plays anyway.

Either way, I find it frustrating that potential free plays are there (and won't get used in my next bet) because they came from one of the addresses hidden within my wallet...

You could use the 'raw transactions' commands to manually construct a transaction from the required address, but that's both tricky and error-prone.

You could make a new wallet and import the private key for the address you want to send from.

If only there was some way of controlling which coins you send...

Or you could send your whole balance to the address you want to send from in your current wallet.  Then your bet is bound to come from the right address.  But sending your whole balance is likely to cost a lot in transaction fees, if you have a lot of small coins.

Your best option is to export the private key of that address from your Bitcoin-Qt and import it on Blockchain.info Wallet that allows you to do coin control on your send transactions.

Here is an Step-by-Step Guide of How to do it:

1. Launch your bitcoin client as usual and wait for it to load the blockchain and start up
2. Click on 'help' in the menu bar (top right)
3. Click on 'debug window'
4. Select the 'console' tab
5. Type: walletpassphrase "your walletpassphrase here" 60
6. Type: dumpprivkey [your public key here] ( The one you have the Free Plays ) <- this will return the private key, you can copy it now; ensure you clear your clipboard/history afterwards
7. Login to your Blockchain.info Wallet
8. Go to Import / Export
9. Enter your private key on "Import Private Key"

After doing this, go to Send Money / Custom, select the imported address and you will be able to redeem your Bonus Tickets.

This is a limitation on the Bitcoin-Qt Client, that doesn't give you the option of coin control.

6. Type: dumpprivkey [your public key here] ( The one you have the Free Plays )

I think it only accepts bitcoin addresses, not public keys.

Any chance you could increase the draws API to retrieve more then 1200 draws? Right now you get a 500 error saying that there is no index given to sort().

wow I can't believe how late I am on BitMillions.

bravo OP / amazing site.

Thanks Micon!!! Looking forward to read your article!!

I could be wrong here but if the numbers are 1 to 99 with 4 slots should it be

99x99x99x99 - odds of 96million to 1

correct me if I'm wrong.

99x99x99x99 - odds of 96million to 1

correct me if I'm wrong.

4 numbers
100 choices

x1 = 4/100 = 0.04 (Probability that one of the 4 picks will match your first number)
x2 = 3/99 = 0.0303 (Probability that one of the 3 remaining picks will match your second number)
x3 = 2/98 = 0.020408 (Probability that one of the 2 remaining picks will match your third number)
x4 = 1/97 = 0.010309 (Probability that one of the 1 remaining picks will match your fourth number)

x1 * x2 * x3 * x4 = 0.000000254987919264 (probability you will win)

1 / 0.000000254987919264 = 3921754

1 in 3921754 chances of winning

this is estimate due to rounding, so it is probably closer to what BitMillions posted
