At this point, all these years after it has started, this is still a technology under development. Bitcoin is more of an investment than a value store, imo. As with all investments, please people, never invest more than you can afford to lose. Despite how improbable, we cannot predict the future. Protect your value.

It might just be me, but if the gold we're a currency, like a gold coin, I'd have no issue spending it in public places. In fact, this exists: the American gold eagle, but I believe the face value does not reflect the gold content of the coin. Back in the day, everyone used to use precious metal for everyday transactions; it was the standard.

I still think that gold is a safer investment than bitcoin because bitcoin is so new and volatile right now.  However, I think that bitcoin has a bigger upside if in fact it can survive in the long run.  I guess bitcoin is riskier but there is a chance of a big payoff.

I consider them both as good but with the bitcoin you can gain money an a relative short time and with the gold this is the opposite but mostly large amounts.

Try trading paper gold, you'd be suprised how volatile it is. Hard (for me) to time, but the profit is there if you can take it. Mining company (precious metals and rare earths) stocks are more volatile than some cryptos, lol.
