I partially agree with you that Ethereum is the second most promising. This is one of the best technologies, and it is better than Bitcoin, many do not know this, the most important thing is that we understand where the most significant prospects are!

I'd stay away from it. I personally prefer Monero and Bitcoin. I don't have much to say about Monero but Bitcoin will be the one I'll trust forever. Don't trust any other alts, you never know when you can get scammed. Just saying.

At the moment I am holding Bitcoins, but I have invested in some Ether as well.

Now I am wondering, what are legitimate concerns about Ether (except for IPO, as I've already read this in a lot of posts).

So can anyone bring real other issues to the table, to enlighten me (and maybe a lot of other readers?)

If you check coin market cap site, you will find out that ETH is good and there are so many people invested on it. it will have sharding network and POS system in this year. so you can buy and hold it for long term.

We all know that ethereum has passed all the tests of time just as bitcoin did. As we look back to it's previous value, we would be able to notice how it changed and strike to reach it's highest value. We should not doubt about it but we should just continue hodling and just wait for the best result.

You can't really say that ETH was the first alternative to Bitcoin. ETH is quite young and its ICO was sometime in 2015. At least 4 years before that, altcoins such as Litecoin and Namecoin had come into existence.

Why would you stay away from Ethereum when it is one of the best alt coin. It is proven because they have a huge backer behind their backs, and also their community is constantly growing. Many upcomming alt coins uses Ethereum as their platforms and that ethereum really has a huge potential in the long run.

Actually ethereum is a very good altcoin this time because it has a faster blockchain than the other altcoin and the transaction fees is minimal. Ethereum is very popular now because it is commonly used in peer to peer transaction and by raising fund in an initial coin offering.

it is the best altcoin to invest in in my opinion. you can follow the transactions through the blockchain, the fees are very low, and transaction speeds are relatively fast compared to other coins especially bitcoin. Also many new projects are using the ethereuem blockchain to build their blockchain on top of.
