@ Everyone - Hello once again!
Firstly sorry for being away pretty much all day yesterday and not being very active the previous days prior to that as well.
Now, we've been laying some groundwork for the real features we are implementing as the ANN states.
1. Client control system -The Client Control System, or "CCS" for short, has been somewhat of a main focus the past few days besides just keeping up with daily life which finally caught up to a few of us.
What the CCS is designed to do is to properly replace the simplistic "Auto Updater" which most Windows users are probably already enjoying which negates the need for users to have to manually download an update or constantly check if there is a new version themselves.
Some of the main features of the CCS will be: Downgrade, Client Select, Check for Update, Bug Report, and pre-release opt-in options.
Let me explain further...
Downgrade - This option as it sounds will allow the user to downgrade the client to a previous available version (down to the last mandatory version) so as to provide a rollback in case the latest update includes features that the user does not want present or if they upgraded by mistake (We like giving our community options)
Client Select - There will be at least a couple clients to choose from soon; a Minimalistic client (classic) and the "Plus" client featuring the winners from the Re-theme contest and the theme we purchased as well along with many other GUI and intuitive upgrades. This way we aren't forcing anyone's hand to run one or the other, you now have OPTIONS
Check for Update - Once again, as it sounds this feature will allow the user to check for an available update and then given the option to restart the client and update if one is available or the system will inform the user that their client is already up-to-date.
Bug Report - Want to help make Espers awesome? Report dem bugs! This feature will allow you to directly inform the Devs about any bugs that you come across so that we have a single source to check for what needs to be patched in upcoming versions and should clear up the thread (alleviating missed bug reports).
Prerelease Opt-In - If you're bold + daring or just want to test the latest non-official updates that will be rolled out and tested before releasing as an official update you'll enjoy this feature which will allow users to opt-in to a test update schedule as apposed to the official update schedule. This option may be de-selected at anytime and the user will be able to downgrade back to an official update.
2. Built-In GPU miner -We decided to take the idea one step further by implementing presets for most Graphics cards so user's may simply select their GPU from a list of pre-programmed GPU settings and start mining right away. No need for spending countless amounts of time trying to find the right settings for your card or system.
This feature will also allow scalabiltiy, have more than one card? No problem again the intuitive interface will let users choose how their system is setup and then either SOLO mine or POOL mine.
Of course for those of you advanced users or those who just like to do it themselves a manual config option will be present in case you don't want to use our presets.
So far that is what we've been gettings done. This update is to be implemented in v0.8.0.5 and is the reason behind its delayed launch.
Something else to note is that v0.8.0.5's features will be WINDOWS only for the time being, v0.8.0.6 will feature a full port to LINUX and MAC systems so that EVERYONE may enjoy these features.
The reason we believe these are required before beginning grafting in the real use features is to allow proper management, releases, and community optional testing.
This will allow both the Dev team and the project to progress smoothly and avoid many possible bumps in the road.
If any of you have any questions please feel free to ask and we will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
Once again, thank you all for being a part of the project, we know there is much skepticism coming from the high token count and low price, so we just once more want emphasize that price is not the goal, never was, the goal is UNIQUE real world use features that can benefit everyone!
You the community are what we are doing this for, you are what makes or breaks this project, and thank you for your continued support. You folks ROCK!
I don't know how many wows to put here . Looks like a lot of work . That's one fantastic update
