If BTC dropped to $1, then there is another and better cyptocurrency than bitcoin.

When btc price dropped, i'll move all of my btc to that new and better currency. Better than keeping the money.

if bitcoin ever dropped to the $1 margin  i certainly would leave it for a much more profitable altcoin but then again what would happen to the price of other altcoins as they are indirectly linked to bitcoin

No need to think of an alternative for bitcoin. If one such coin exists, it would fall before bitcoin gets vanished.

But this time you'll get to see massive price swings where it goes up to $2-$5 and comes down to $1-$2 again.

Why tho? It's useless to have a lot of money that worth nothing. It's better to invest your money to the newest most used currency than still believing the past.

I am sure you will not buy at that time, just think about a few days older when the price came back from $467 to $440, how much did you buy at that period? People were scared to see that, and if you still believe that you will buy a coin when it come at its lowest price then there are a lot of coins which are less than $1, why not you buy a large pile of it so that you will be the whale and you will manipulate that at what price you want.
