Have you ever lost Bitcoin?

If that happened, why?   Was it your own fault,  or were you scammed?

If that happened, why?   Was it your own fault,  or were you scammed?

"Your own fault" or "were yo scammed" are the same thing if you ask me , because if you get scammed then it was your fault for not using escrow in your transaction or trusting people just like that or simply using reversible payment methods . and no , I never lost any bitcoins and I'm not planning to start now . Using trusted escrows has been proven to not be always a guarantee for safety. In that case it is very difficult to avoid being scammed here on this forum, even while using trusted forum escrows. Regarding OP; I am happy to say that I have not lost any coins.

Just because Master-P scammed people doesn't mean all escrows are bad , but yes you got a point . Still , 99% of scam accusations on Bitcointalk are totally the fault of people who gets scammed .

No, I have not. The people who get scammed in most cases are careless or want to profit from a 'get rich quick' scheme somehow. I've been around here for years now and had never had any problematic situations.

Just because Master-P scammed people doesn't mean all escrows are bad , but yes you got a point.
These things happen, however one should never generalize things (i.e. there are good escrows around here).

I lost 2.25 BTC when I switched from my old Android phone to an iPhone (2013 IIRC). I had forgotten it had some coins on it when I did a reset then sold it.

I think i have lost bitcoins in every way possible. I lost some gambling, was scammed in trades for small amounts, lost one wallet for litecoin (just a few coins tho),
and last but not least, some pools have went down while i had balance on them, and by this i'm mostely referring to old deepbit pool..

I haven't lost any Bitcoins in the sense of being scammed, but unfortunately I have lost a lot of clam coins because I forgot the passwords to a bunch of Blockchain wallets I had back in the days when first starting out Grin It's not such a big deal though live and learn I guess but nowadays I am keeping all my important data saved via a password manager so I have peace of mind something like that won't happen again.

The same also with me here. Of course as a newbie, we are excited about passive earning like earning with nothing to do. After I being scammed by those ponzis, I also stopped investing to them because they are no longer reliable for me.

I voted for "Yes, but my own fault" since I forgot my password to my initial BTCitcoin address after coming back from a lengthy off spell from using BTCitcoin (roughly 2 years). I forgot to save phrase for wallet recovery mnemonic (blockchain.info), so I couldn't request the password anymore (lesson learned and I deserved it for being careless).

I really feel sorry about that my friend but at least it serves you as a lesson not to try it again. The same experience for me in ponzi scheme. Scammed a lot of times.

I have lost many times in gambling and that was my own fault, I don't blame any one else for that, as sometimes I get greedy and I want to earn quick money, but no regrets for that.
