Will actual country wide commercials boost crypto?

One more day!

We have been working on a detailed marketing plan that involves real commercials in Iceland. Tomorrow we start a campaign with huge posters in all 100 bus terminals around Reykjavik, which will look like this:

The terminals have over 5 million driveby's a week! This means that in one week most people have become familiar with our logo and name. It also makes Auroracoin something that is real. Once we start unfolding our releases to the press people in Iceland are going to say "Hey, I saw that at the busstop before" Rather then "Hmmm, some internet thing from a couple of nerds".

Next week a lot of news will spread around the opening of the AUR - ISK exchange http://isx.is, that will create a lot of momentum for Auroracoin.

Also next week the new multi-algo goes in effect, please make sure you have updated your wallets!

I think Icelanders won't care
They all know about Auroracoin already (Iceland is not big), but they still don't really care all that much

I would love to see it happen. I don't hold much of that coin since I did buy it when it was rather more expensive. However, it would be great for crypto if it could even come close to achieving what they are aiming for.

I think many governments will dislike the idea. 

They love the idea of checking everybody's underwear to see how much he/she hides a little too much to be okay with this.

I think that was always going to happen at the start. Takes time for new tech to become viable in the minds of most people. Now hopefully it can start to grow over time there. It's good they are still trying anyway.

Well, it actually has been a little over a year we have been working on preparing the re-launch of Auroracoin. This time we focused mainly on securing the blockchain technology by porting to multi-algo and building the necessary platforms to support actual usage. This includes a dedicated AUR-ISK exchange and a payment provider that directly enables all merchants to start accepting AUR without any hassle or risk. We also have been building on marketing strategies, of which this campaign is the first of many to unfold.

If you take the time to read our ANN you'll see we have been building things way before the Panama Papers got out. The release of those papers and the fall of the Icelandic PM actually was something that got us scared, it could have easily ignited a new hype that we especially don't want! Fortunately it didn't happen and we are good to start building steady growth :-)

actually i think it is not a good ad at all.
it is nice to see cryptocurrency being advertised in real world (offline) but i think s simple clean image with just a name, especially for something new only make a vague advertisement which is not going to be effective at all.

(it is a white space with a logo (F) and a name under it)

this works for a well known brand like Mercedes but not something that nobody knows except people on altcoin board of bitcointalk!!
