As you probably know, it's now possible to make bitcoin transactions paying fees below 1 sat/vByte. Nodes and mining pools accept them and they get included into blocks. My question is would your system and software recognize such transactions? I am asking because I am not sure if this needs custom modifications from your end to work properly.

I'm not a technical user but I am 100% sure it doesn't require any user to have custom modifications as long as their wallet software keeps updating.

Remember, it was always possible for us to set any kind of fee, on our wallet, it was the miner pools who set their rules for a minimum. Now they just lowered that minimum. This is them updating their rules.

In fact the transaction fee is not even explicitly written in the transaction, but is calculated based on the difference between the total inputs and outputs... so it should work perfectly.

It is great to see Sportsbet livestreaming UFC event at Abu Dhabi, and I am hoping to see this happening in future with other events.
I want to see all UFC in livestream but because of different time zones I cant always watch full streams.

I made a consolidation transaction to myself by broadcasting the raw transaction using Mempool.space. However, after I did that, the incoming 0.5 sat/vByte transaction wasn't displayed in Trezor Suite at all. I waited a bit and even restarted the software but I couldn't see it. The next time I checked, the transaction was visible in my Trezor Suite history. Maybe it only appeared there after it got confirmed on the blockchain and not before. Hence my question to Sportsbet.

Most probably, Trezor Suite's node rejected your transaction due to their policy rules and didn't display the transaction because they didn't have it in their mempool at all.
Once the transaction was confirmed and it was included in the blockchain, Trezor Suite saw your transaction and displayed it.

I don't know if Sportsbet.io's node put transactions paying less than 1 sat/vbyte as fee in their mempool, but even if their node doesn't accept such transactions, like Trezor Suite, they should see your transaction once it gets confirmed.

But if their node doesn't recognize and see below 1 sat-vByte transactions until they are confirmed, players can't take advantage of this feature and have their accounts credited immediately. That's why I feel it's important to know this. I wouldn't play around with it on Sportsbet, risking not being able to submit my bet in time before the start of the match I want to bet on.

But if their node doesn't recognize and see below 1 sat-vByte transactions until they are confirmed, players can't take advantage of this feature and have their accounts credited immediately. That's why I feel it's important to know this. I wouldn't play around with it on Sportsbet, risking not being able to submit my bet in time before the start of the match I want to bet on.

But the thing is, when you are signing and broadcasting the transaction, your client should already tell you that.

As long as your own client is not modified with your own rules. The fee being blocked has always been on miner side, which, most clients are updated about, so you would essentially get the error when broadcasting your tx below 1 sat per byte before the rule change.

The fact that you can now sign a <1sat tx, so if your tx is accepted into the network, all clients see it because miners(nodes) allowed it. It doesn't matter anything once your tx is accepted.

The only thing I would say is ever 'delayed' is block explorers. Some explorers take forever to detech a pending transaction, I have no idea why.

Nodes can be set up differently. Just because some nodes accept below 1 sat/vByte transactions, it doesn't mean that all nodes do. If you take a look at Mempool.Space, you will notice that ViaBTC mined a block a few hours ago with only 88 transactions inside. Why? Because their node only accepts transactions of 1 sat/vByte and higher. They included only 88 transactions in their block at a time when there were +50,000 unconfirmed below 1 sat/vByte transactions in the memories of other nodes. Similar things happened with blocks they found earlier as well.

We have no way of knowing how Sportsbet's node is set up. Just like Trezor, it might be possible that they won't see below 1 sat/vByte transactions nor credit them to player accounts until they are confirmed on the blockchain.

Maybe there was some glitch with trezor software, but I think you can use Electrum wallet with your Trezor, or run your own bitcoin node.
It is expected everything to be slower if you are using below 1 sat/vByte transaction fees.

We have no way of knowing how Sportsbet's node is set up. Just like Trezor, it might be possible that they won't see below 1 sat/vByte transactions nor credit them to player accounts until they are confirmed on the blockchain.

In recent years, transaction fee rates are usually 1+ sat/vbyte and Bitcoin nodes mostly setup their node parameters with fee rate from 1+ sat/vbye and even in months when mempools overloaded by Ordinals and Runes Protocol hypes, Bitcoin full nodes and mempools mostly dropped too low fee rate waiting transactions out of their mempools.

Honestly I have never used fee rates under 1 sat/vbyte in many years and 2025 is my first ever chance for broadcasting my Bitcoin transaction with too low fee rate like this.

OK I think I got it too, thanks for explanation as well as Pmalek but I always thought node was actually running the Bitcoin software as part of the network (validating txs) and I thought Wallet users like for sure Sportsbet is, is only a client (light client or whatever you want to call it).
