Bitcoin is basically destroyed now with 70% of the mining controlled by China, soon to be 98+%, and with Blockstream implementing their SegWit soft fork Trojan Horse so as Matonis admits can end up increasing the 21 million coins limit.

The entire ecosystem is headed for a clusterfuck.

I honestly believe this is the truth.  What is there to add ?

These Chinese people really wants to conquer all things that includes money.
They are really greedy, anywhere that there is money they come into it.
I agreed, Majority of the Chinese people are boastful and greedy just for the sake of money they will do everything to get it. I remembered I watched the news before that was a years ago. There is an island that near to their place they own the island without the notice permit of that country which is Philippine and the island they owned was Scarborough Seoul and I don't know what's happens next.

Still they wanted to own it,though there was already a talk between the government and they were both allowed to go there without harassment or attcks ,but still they want to own something not for them, hoping for bitcoin to last long and be profitable for every nation.

The miners are only a part of the bitcoin network.  Yes, there is a large concentration of mining in China but most of the bitcoin users are distributed around the world diversely.  We all have a say....if we don't like the direction the platform is heading, all we have to do is relocate our holdings into an alternative platform which will motivate the miners to pay attention to the concerns of the rest of the community.
Bitcoin will never be destroy ever, because of decentralization. It's not because they owned the biggest average percentage of mining network it doesn't mean they are able to control bitcoin, of course not! and besides China is the only country owning the mining network in the whole world. Bitcoin will be destroy only if decentralization will be gone into the features of bitcoin. That's only in my point of view Smiley
Decentralization is a major factor in the growth of bitcoin. The biggest percentage of bitcoin mining network is under China, at the same Fork supporters too was found in a big number in China. So this could lead to anything. Importantly the network going under BU will destroy decentralization and it becomes a system with controlling power within the hands of few whales.

I think nah, bitcoin can't be destroyed... Because bitcoin life is depends at the people when no more people are holding bitcoin then the bitcoin will destroyed. but as long as bitcoin is not yet in that it will not destroyed and that is beyond impossible too.

I think the bitcoin will evolve. When the Bitcoin size is increased further, it will attract more users and it will be improved again.

It's just time for other powers to get heavier involvement. I doubt major powers such as Russia or the USA would simply let China centralize BTC. It has deeper roots in our companies than that. Maybe, they're just waiting when to send some packages to Chineese miners  Lips sealed

The news from OP posted in may 2016, is already a year gone and bitcoin is able to prove itself to always be able to get through the shock, a lot of up and down movements over the past year, and it's proven that level of confidence in bitcoin is still high. Don't always corner miners out of china because so far we are also enjoying it very fair, If bitcoin unlimited controls the current cryptocurrency you can blame it for destroying decentralization.

USA joined the rally already if you know the news about them making coinbase audit all the transactions made from the past years, it is just showing that they are interested to bitcoin. And as far as I know, Russia is near to acceptance to bitcoin.

Its been nearly one year to the start of this topic till now Bitcoin is living and its been living prosperously. USA, Russia, Japan and many other strong technological countries are showing more interest in BTC and trying experiments socially. BTC will definitely live for at least 10 more years.

The title of this thread I think is misleading, How come that bitcoin is dead? the present price value was 1310$ is this what you called that Bitcoin is dead? I don't think its dead, in fact, many are getting more interest unto it to adopt the system of bitcoin.

This topic is just another type of fud that is trying to convince people that bitcoin is destroyed but this is 100% false because we can see that the price is keep on rising up and it will be doubled soon, yes you read it right. It will be doubled soon or in the year of 2018 so there is no chance for bitcoin to be destroyed.

Bitcoin is destroyed because China owns it?
Does it matter if most miners are in the USA or now China?

Agreed we know that there are so many big farm miner in china but we can't just say the china control the mining system because there are also many big company miner's in other count.

Once China has the power of bitcoin to some extent as it has got the increased users as well increased number of miners. Now scenario is different after the inspection done by the PBOC. The controllability went out of hands but still it has good support from government and people.

Yes ,if we now the price it is not convincing that bitcoins was destroyed .These will only need you to think on your common sense
or to believe on what others said .Just like media that will make you believe .So its better to research and prove it yourself dont be
a fool to believe .

2017 is going to be a blow out year for bitcoin. If SigWit is accepted by the community and adopted by the network we could see an explosion of growth.

i think you didn't get it. OP clearly stated that Bitcoin is totally destroyed because China have take over the control the bitcoin. China has the majority of the hashrate of bitcoin blockchain and they has majority of trading and transactions in blockchain. but in my own opinion, as long as they pumping the bitcoin price up and they won't affect in their issues i'm definitely okay with it.

I'm pretty sure I plead about a dozen pages or so ago to allow this thread to fade into obscurity.  I honestly don't understand the appeal of it, but clearly the fact that it keeps being revived speaks volumes to the notion that such mindless speculations are all we're capable of as a community.  We could be discussing technology, ideas and other intelligent stuff, but instead we choose to languish in the doldrums of accusations, conspiracy and what basically amounts to a slightly geeky equivalent of celebrity gossip.

Way to turn Bitcoin into reality television, you utter simpletons.

So you are just speculating that bitcoin will be only alive for 10 more years? Bitcoin will certainly live for so many years as long as we are here that are users of bitcoin then there's no need to worry about it. Bitcoin is stronger right now and it will going to make it's strength broad just like what you had mentioned because that will be the reason.
