What if a buyer purchases something from a seller and never receives the item? How is that type of situation resolved in Blockmarket?
Syscoin has the world's first decentralized 3rd-party escrow platform built-in directly to Blockmarket. The buyer simply chooses an arbiter that both the merchant and buyer trusts to secure the purchase. I appreciate those details. That seems like a good technique to settle such issues. I'm glad to see you guys are thinking from both the buyer and seller's perspectives and have situations like this thought out. Thanks, much appreciated! After 4 years of development we are always trying to perfect the experience for the buyer/seller/arbiter. We would love to know how we can make the experience even better, you can contribute to our development by submitting an "enhancement issue" here: https://github.com/syscoin/blockmarket-desktop-public/issues

It's not technically official but since Syscoin is opensource, anyone can use the logo as they please. I'm pretty excited about this. Thanks for the share. I know you guys have a lot of real work to attend to, but if you ever did decide to sell shirts I'd buy one from you guys too! Noted, thanks! At the moment, as we are expanding the company, it is difficult to begin a swag campaign with all the other priorities we have, but this is certainly something we eventually want to do. Until then, we are glad that some merchants are willing to sell swag for those who want some.

Node list for syscoin.conf from https://chainz.cryptoid.info/sys/#!network code Still getting "Waiting to connect to peers..." though for an hour now, even after dropping nodes in config. Any ideas? Make sure your computer/laptop isn't going into sleep mode. For troubleshooting, join us on our Slack #help channel, DM me your e-mail address for an invitation to our slack. Sleep mode? C'mon, man :-) I uninstalled/reinstalled it as "All users" instead of "Current users" and somehow that worked. Really hard to tell what's going on with the block syncing when it first starts out, but it *looks* like it's syncing. You would be surprised at how many times that was the problem Thanks, I'll make sure to remember that, that was for Window 10 I assume? Yep, win10. You might've just not noticed the progress bar moving very slowly during the initial sync - that's what happened to me. I made a note to the devs that it's not clear if the UI is frozen during that initial sync. Thank you for contributing by providing your suggestions on how to make the Blockmarket experience even better, we want this to be as intuitive as possible. Also, keep in mind that Blockmarket Web will no longer require the user to sync the wallet which will considerably reduce the technical effort required to operate Blockmarket. For all those that would also like to contribute their ideas to improve the Blockmarket experience, please submit an "enhancement issue" here: https://github.com/syscoin/blockmarket-desktop-public/issues

When should we be expecting blockmarket web to be up and running? I seem to remember it should be coming soon. We haven't provided a date yet, for Blockmarket Web to be released, as soon as it is determined (after testing and completion of Syscoin core 2.2, Syscoin API 2.0), then Blockmarket Web will be released. We always do our due diligence and will ensure to provide a secure product for everyone. Stay tuned on our blog https://medium.com/@BlockchainFoundryThanks for the answer! I'm very excited for it but I understand it is important to get a good and secure product ready before releasing it. Thanks for the blog link. I'll keep it bookmarked!

I just read an article today on business reporter about Syscoin being labeled as "Bitcoin's smarter, cheaper, little brother." I have always felt this way and I'm glad more people are starting to recognize how clearly awesome syscoin is and how much of a contender it is. Word is getting out and I am excited for the future Congrats, guys!

This makes me excited for the future of cryptocurrency as a whole. As long as we have solid, useful projects like Syscoin, then mass adoption is only a matter of time!

I'm interested in learning more about blockmarket. I don't understand what the benefit of using crypto is. What makes blockmarket a better alternative than Ebay or Amazon?

Ebay, Amazon, Aliexpress, etc are all completely centralized marketplaces. There are many restrictions, merchants in the developing world have a very hard time dealing directly with the rest of the world. The fees are really pricy with centralized marketplaces: Ebay: 10% of the total sale + Paypal : 3% = 13%. Amazon charges 15% with a $1 minimum. 13-15% on the total sale (not the total profit) destroys most businesses acceptable margins, so the the big players are favored since they have more buying power and can afford the cut. Blockmarket costs pennies and will be even less in our next core release. Not everything can be sold (not just illegal goods and Blockmarket doesn't have any), I can buy a Lamborghini on Blockmarket, but I cannot on Amazon. Now Blockmarket is just one usecase (albeit a very important one), Syscoin's protocol is built and maintained with business in mind, that can be useful in much more than just e-commerce.

The pools listen in the announcement have no info on their sites that indicate they are pools for syscoin? Am I missing it? Why can I find no info on pools or how to mine this? Still relatively new to mining but want to set this up to mine on cpu (i have core i7, might as well put a few cores to use I guess) but I am used to gpu mining with neoscrypt/xevan algos so far.
Anyone have any guides on miner software etc?

Well the first page of the thread states that SYS uses SHA256 and can be merge mined with BTC. So I guess you can put away the video cards if you want to mine this coin. The pools don't seem to have good mining support for SYS, but it shouldn't be too hard to find one... devs? I'm guessing that most people are just buying the coin. Great to see SYS getting some press - that was perfect timing! Also nice thread with really positive ideas flowing!
