They could have striked a deal with Avalon team to be a reseller.
(basically they just buy the chips/modules from Avalon)

Then again, if I'd be reselling the only real Asic known so far, I'd advertise this as big as possible on my website Smiley

Hmmm.. if that is a fake, its certainly a commendable one. If nothing else, they got the airflow and cooling right.
If its real, they are nuts selling it so cheap, it makes its investment back in what, 4 days?
Its a long drive from here, but if this turns out to be real, Im going.

New Pic:

That is a weird placement of the cooling fins... some have a fan direct over them, some are in their own hot
air pocket.

The machines needs more fans! Look at BFL... you can never have enough fans, even for a vapourware product...

Nah, looks fine to me. You dont need airflow over every part of the heatsink, the idea of a heatsink is that its good at transferring heat. 6 of those 120mm ? fans should be enough to get rid of 800W.

edit:
Well, Im not sure if the two outer heatsinks get a lot of airflow or if they are connected to the "inside" heatsinks on the same bank.

Still, more worried about this being real. If it is, I wouldnt mind modding it.

Is the distance from the bottom of the case to the lower row of fans greater on the inside view than on the outside view?

Dont want to sound like Phinn, but the power plugs dont seem to be connected, or if they are, at random angles.

It kind of looks like those are 6+2 PCIe power cables, and the +2 are sticking up in the air.

The case airflow design is simply ridiculous.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

That is the best picture of a "fake" ASIC that I've ever seen.

my take on the two outer heatsinks?

I would imagine those boards are similar to the Avalon ones, and they would have a bunch of qfn chips with the backside of the board doing the business end of the cooling. it would appear that they simply added a heatsink to the tops of the chips as well (every little bit helps I guess) and it even looks to me like the board on the right side is flipped around compared to the other three, presumably so that the hot heatsink would be in the direct airflow.

meaning the heatsinks stuck against the sides of the box are pretty much overkill and not needing much airflow at all...

really, this design makes a lot of sense to me. The only thing I don't see is a controller board, but maybe you don't need one? does the Avalon have a controller board simply to make it "stand-alone"?

Anyways, I must repeat, that is the best picture of a "fake" ASIC that I've ever seen!

The case airflow design is simply ridiculous.

Yes, ridiculously good!

You can see the control PCB behind the mass of the PSU cables and ribbon cables.

While pics are sure impressive if it's fakeware.
And, while cooling maybe enough as designed if this thing is real, the cooling design is just stupid unless there are exhaust fans on the cover that is removed and 6 fans that we see are intake fans or vise versus. Then air is blown side to side through the unit.

But how do you install this thing at collocation facility? Its too high and not very deep. if you treat it as a tower then it takes to many rack U spaces with too much empty and costly space around it. You can't install it as rack-mounted. you ether heating the walls of the cabinet and then heat accumulates in the rack or first unit preheats next unit if you put few of the side by side. Very amateurish design.
