Hey I was thinking,

From google hangout, Mr. Trew said POW block reward will be kept very small to limit inflation.
and if ICO gets underfunded, below 500 BTC, then token price will likely be below 1000 satoshi.
which means mining Stratis will not be very profitable in the beginning, which means less hash power.
this opens up the network to possible 51% attack from competitors.
How will this issue be resolved, if came to realization?

Any thoughts?

Hm, valid concern actually…

Is POW stage absolutely necessary? why not go to POS from start? this would prevent possible 51% IMHO

It was mentioned in the Google hangout, that they want to group some miners around stratis. That is not a bad idea, since private/side/child chains may be secured using PoW.
Is there a parallel PoW/PoS phase planned? If yes, the danger sinks due to PoS securing the network as well, no?
Apart from that, maybe you could create a sidechain with its own coin that is purely PoW mineable and is mined parallel to the mainchain? Although I'm not too sure how to assign value to this coin.

I still didn't get an answer to my previous question:

if this is a business blockchain dev tool why would people use the public ledger over bitcoins or any other altcoin? what's different?

That's C++ things, limited to C# devs, but this coin rewrites bitcoin in C# code, obviously it will help more C# devs join this platform.

It's impossible to predict the price of Stratis when live. We can only speculate. With under 500BTC invested the price of per Stratis will be about 550 Satoshi. Good chance investors will be in profit with the potential capabilities the Stratis Project has to offer.

Yes this is true. The less BTC raised the more higher potential for investors to be in profit quickly.

Good to hear positive feedback on the Google hangout interview with the CEO, hope it draws more fund to the project  and any truth about the Tai Zen thing.

I contacted him on Twitter in regards to whether he would like to interview Chris. He replied 'Yes'. I'm still waiting for him to join our slack.

That is a great news for stratis team, Tai zen and Leonfu have real crypto followers, any recommendation from them is going to give this project a great lift even after ICO. Factom, waves and NXT are testimony to this

OH, NO, Stratis will be overbought, I prefer after ICO, or the ICO flippers will come to spoil this project!!!    Angry Angry Angry Sad Sad Sad

Overbought at what price, anything less than 5000BTC for this project is under-funding which is not good, because they need this fund to achieve their set goals

5k is overbought, even iota raised 1300btc, they are 20X now, so you can think what kind of coin can raise 5K in ico, mastercoin did it in 2013, and successful project factom only raised 1K. So i estimate this project will bt 500BTC is ok, unless they release with full functions, that could be a 5k btc project. Now it is nothing, so 500 is decent

It's undecided. He mentioned x13 but I'd rather see Dagger-Hashimoto used.

My main problem with Dagger is that it isnt very good for nvidia users but its mainly me being biased. If I remember correct X13 isnt ideal for AMD either.
I would actually prefer a high X.. algo because of the reduced powerdraw.

That's why I am pulling for Dagger, low power and Nvidia guys seem happy mining as well. Not the mention the giant base that could be tapped into.

How many Stratis are allocated for POW?

You can check slack, chris said it may be 4 coins per block, POW total 2M coins, and then goes to POS. I think this figure is decent, not high and not low.

It was 2 million a year. With PoW lasting 6-12 months. So 1-2 million.

not sure how long, but i see 2% inflation of pow(so means pow for 1 year imo) and then pos, his words from slack:
chris_stratis [8:13 AM]
There is indeed, the block reward will be very small! At this time its likely going to be 4 Stratis per block! 4 x 60 x 24 x 365 = 2102400 Mined in one year! Total supply after POW 100M

chris_stratis [8:14 AM]
2% Inflation, then when we migrate to our version of POS, there will be *NO* blockrewards and only transaction fees will be paid to people staking
