Yes more projects, development advertisement and good press.  Bitcoin has been known by many as bad thing, something that is attached to illegal activities.  This is because of the sensationlized bad press.  Well I think the community can counteract this by releasing more good press, projects and development with full promotion and advertisement.  This way bitcoin will be acknowledge by more people  and eventually the government.

Just like fiat, it can also be use for illegal activities. That depends on the person using bitcoin, and this is just a currency, if they will use it for illegal activities that is not the fault of bitcoin but the user and they will pay the consequences.

So thats why we should help to increase the user, word of of mouth is really helping to spread it and it is also free since you can give knowledge to your friends on how to earn with aswell as your helping the bitcoin go spread and market will increase, and aside from that store acceptance is the best thing to market bitcoin and provably if this coin will go to shops provably the user will increase more and the economy of bitcoin will be more healthier.

I'm utterly curious where you got this number from. I've heard the same figure somewhere across the forum before. In 2015 the total number of Bitcoin owners had been estimated to be around 2-3 million people, among which only 300k-500k active Bitcoin users (spending, trading, gambling, etc). The Bitcoin userbase is expected to rise to about 5 million by 2019 from about 1.5 million in 2014 as some researchers claim...

So 100k merchants accepting Bitcoin seems to be somewhat exaggerated, mildly speaking

Mass adoption is actually not required in the sense you consider it. Bitcoin and blockchain technology could also be adopted by businesses that build decentralized apps on it. Customers or average Joe do not even know about the backend and that it is build on Bitcoin.

People's doubt makes it fall slower to reach that mainstream change. It will be a hard fight for some to see is as a good crypto. It will be years to make it at a higher percetage of users.

I agree that nobody can`t predict future accurately, nobody can tell what will happen tomorrow, we can just speculate what will happen for 10 years. As technology, I like to think that bitcoin have a sure place in the future. Now all of us, and for 10 years new generations will be the young power that will take bitcoin much higher. Now kids know more about internet then we did in their age, this world and we depend from internet now, we pay bills, buy things, earn. Internet can just can have more influence on society in the future, and with that bitcoin can become main currency for buying, trading, gambling on internet.
