as far as i understand Ardor is a platform (parent chain) and Ardor as coin has less features. On the other hand ignis is a child chain in Ardor Platform with lots of features?
so what is the purpose of having Ardor as a coin in the Ardor Platform? Does Ardor miners earn fees or something for every transaction being made in child chains?
You are right with all your statements: Ardor is a token created for "consensus" purposes only. The "minters" earn (pretty expensive) Ardor transaction fees when the "child chain" bundlers bundle transactions into it. "Child chains" are not really blockchains: they are a chained list of transactions called "ChildChainBlock" transactions that are bundled into the main "Ardor" chain. This "two-tier" design has two purposes: - first, it allows to create coins (as "child chains") where the transaction fees can be paid in the child chain currency (the concept has been descibed as "Monetary system done right", when it was presented) - second, it allows a very interesting pruning mechanism. Only the first 1440 blocks of every child chain must be validated by all nodes, the rest is "pruned". That is possible without security drawbacks only because the Ardor main chain (validated completely by all nodes) and its "forgers" are making sure that the ChildChainBlock transactions are legitimate (containing, for example, no double spends). So the ARDR system is able to process, with the same bandwidth/storage cost resources, about 30 times more transactions than the old Nxt system.

ARDR is way better than NXT, and ultimately should replace NXT

Just asking when will ardor or NXT foundation hold an event where it will showcase the strength and advantages of its BaaS architecture.

Why is this crypto so unknown by the public? Are there some plans for PR and promotion in the future and what do you think about Ardor team? Thanks...

This is an old coin
Haha, funny post. This coin hasn't even been launched! (It will be launched near the end of the year, probably.) You most likely took the starting date of the thread as a reference. Or maybe the existence of the "ARDR" asset that is traded on the NXT blockchain. But the ARDR asset is only an IOU that gives you the right to participate in the Ardor genesis block after launch. The launch will probably trigger a price rise - because until the final launch it's not 100% sure that it will be launched (e.g. there could still be a fatal bug being discovered), although I'm pretty confident, as the testnet is already working for some months now and as far as I know it had no serious issues.

Hello,
Will there be a specific wallet for ARDOR?
I am not a lover of the NXT wallet, which is not user friendly ...

Yes, but it will probably look and feel the same as the NXT one. However, they want to hire a GUI coder to improve the wallet but it may take a while.

When I see the wallet of rise, neo, or ark, there is a big margin of progression! ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Yes, there will be separate wallet for Ardor, ATM it is on testnet, but you can check it at https://ardor.jelurida.com/As for friendly, use it few times and it will become friendly. Yes, it differs from any other wallet, because it has all features implemented, Nxt has. And there are plenty of them.

Your ARDR assets balance will be shapshotted and the same balance will appear in Ardor mainnet as ARDR token. The same passphrase you use in Nxt now will open the same Ardor account id. So, keep your passphrase safe.
