Here is the first testnet release, currently at block 2
You can mine there already, but your node must be running at the same time, because miner uses it once it finds a correct block for reward
I will start my node once you install this version

https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/releases/tag/0.74

Don't forget to close your node before installing

okay I have it installed. Node is running and so is the miner.

Wow that miner screams!!
Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

I tried finding a block yesterday and it took me 1660 attempts, which was about a minute. Not sure about what the difficulty will be in the end. Nevertheless, sending some testnet Bismuth your way to c12b77c620e0079591609a3dffe61cad3d8b9e2dc1a5cc1534595ddd.

I recieved it. 10,000 bismuth. I can see the from address, want me to send some back? ... I sent some anyway.

Also reporting that block height is 6 now. I don't know if you found them or I found them.. Are the block rewards 1 ?

Recieved back, thank you very much, it works Cheesy
Although I am suspecting the miner not to work correctly, I see a lot of transactions you sent to yourself, I think the miner did that (1 bismuth)
Gonna mine myself now to see what's wrong

ok, thanks, me too. if we manage to mine something, I will keep sending transactions to enable second mining phase (block 50-100)
mining confirmed broken -> miner calculates a different hash than node

I have noticed that the following users would like to participate in the testnet:

notsofast
Charloz24
Woody20285
Ingramtg

I am not sure about the rest, so here is an application form. You will be contacted using the PM and updates to this thread if you choose to participate:

http://goo.gl/forms/B9jQKM6WczmPEMP73

Also I updated the second post with pictures

Hi,

The executable self-installer gave a couple of trojan hits in Virustotal:

https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/4ef08b6e90d3240de3681fe8d4051190916e70622f18b11d5128585cac45a5fa/analysis/

Can you give some indication of what's going on? Just being careful-- I will try installing from source instead.

Hi, it looks like a false positive due to InnoSetup (installer software) being used to make an installer of some malware in the past
I will need to contact each of those antivirus companies to re-evaluate

Reported nevertheless

You don't have to install anything, just download python, install dependencies and run the script if you don't trust the executables.

Download and install https://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.7.11/python-2.7.11.msi
In your command line, run the following commands:
Quote
pip install pycrypto
pip install pillow
pip install pyqrcode
pip install pypng
what i was wrong??

New version released:
https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/releases/tag/0.75

block bumped to 73, mining works (there was a wrong operator (D'AOh))

I got some double blocks previously, but the issue seems to be gone, might be related to synchronization from multiple sources at once, need to add switch, but that will be done in the next release if bug is confirmed. Thank you so far for testing!

I'm done for today. I will leave the node running, mining is up to you (some spending needs to be done to reach new mining block interval)

Also, sent 10000 Bismuth to

Code:
c12b77c620e0079591609a3dffe61cad3d8b9e2dc1a5cc1534595ddd

Copyright infringement, Intellectual Property Theft, Illegal use of the Vcash trademark to promote the ICO scam (Bismuth). This matter has been handed off to Vcash attorneys.

You seriously banned me on your forum for endorsing your project, while calling mine a scam and an ICO? After I spent months on development and ideas while you secretly forked Peercoin? Why you must be sucha nut.. And you threatened me with a lawsuit? I even stopped posting there. I used to feel sad, guilty and inproper on your forum, now I just feel that you might be doing amphetamine derivates a little too much.
There goes my investing in VCASH I guess and the promotion and our Twitter love affair

Stuck at block 74?

Hi, can you please send me information from your node.log?
It looks like you are at 74 and one guy is at 61. 5 other guys are fully synced. Are you using the latest version? There were some issues with the old blockchain. Also it might be an issue with sync mechanism I was not able to notice on a lower scale, because you should basically roll back to the last known block of the longest chain, looks like modifications are needed. Unless you have doubled transactions in the blockchain (2 with the same signature, and possibly same block number)

Awesome, I confirm this to be the latest block. Also, mining should be possible now again since we are in a new block segment, so feel free to try it out Wink
