Looks like I deleted adroid's latest post by accident. He asked about the jumping block issue (rollback crazy), I need to look into that

There was a problem in GUI with Block height, it was jumping from 1032 to 1024, 1025 after manual refresh, but now everything works ok, dunno if it was just visual bug or something real

That was real for sure, happens to me also. But the blocks seem to get in place correctly after some time. Might be related to syncing from multiple locations, but that should be much more efficient now. Your blockchain had all blocks lined up correctly, but during the sync process, some blocks get missing. I don't want to send block number as a static number, so I must do some syncing optimizations again Smiley

Thanks for registering for the testnet, guys. I will send you the coins when I come home.

I would also like to express that I don't feel like doing an ICO, mainly for the following reasons:
-If shit gets tough, I might end up in jail
-Impossible to proof that I am not a scammer
-Shady history of ICOs on this forum
-People will create many new accounts just to drain the test rewards

The bad thing is that I would have to reward testers from the DEV address, and it would take time to get them fully rewarded
Let me know what you think, I see the poll is quite close

I liked idea that from 1000 blocks one goes to dev address or something like that, because in long term developer is interested to improve coin and run it to get reward, its like salary.. Rly i hate ICO, because trading ico is like trading some shit and nobody know what will gonna be, and premine is good just for begining development, maybe a little bit can be approved. But everything need to be crystal clear.

Sync is still not working properly, finding the root cause
Forgot that I must make rollback and sync exclusive, otherwise a proper block number is not guaranteed. Fixing today or tomorrow (feeling kinda sick)

If you really want to do a fair launch then no rewards for testers. Its not like were doing much anyways. No premine, no instamine no bullshit fair launch.

If you want to make some money, which you should, take a small premine for yourself and state that its for you. For making the coin.

Once the coin is launched never change the parameters (total supply, reward, etc.)

Words of a wise man

Here is the latest release (experimental) to prevent nodes from rolling back while syncing (caused chaos in the database)
https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/releases/tag/0.791

You can now download individual files without the installer here:
https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/tree/master/dist

testnet Bismuth sent to everyone (sorry if your mined bismuth got lost)
note: nodes stuck behind block 1045 may remain there until they upgrade

If your in the US/Canada/UK or other westernized countries with crazy securities laws then you should be very careful doing an ICO. Like you said you could end up in jail or fined crazy amounts.

Looks like the network is syncing, although some peers get stuck in consensus pool after they disconnect. Would you like to see Tor support? It's pretty easy to add

when is mainnet is out

In several months. I would like to do rigorous testing.
Also, node vulnerabilities like spam attack or false rollback need to be fixed.

https://github.com/hclivess/Bismuth/releases/tag/0.8

A new version is out, I'm still working on sync optimizations mainly and things easy to fix (consensus list operations, etc)
I found another hole in the database exclusivity - the transaction submission through GUI. All is now fixed inside the core code

Hoping this to be a milestone release, tested with 2 nodes (1 active, 1 passive). It should now be impossible for a casual user to break the database, let's see
-a restart of the client might be needed if consensus pool does not get updated on node disconnect-

Is this Pyrite?

Here's a chart, as you can see some blocks arrived later than they should, becaue there were several bugs which I am now attempting to resolve/hopefully resolved Smiley

project is progressing well.
don't do an ICO it will only draw a bunch quick flippers looking for instant profit
they won't wait months

unless you are planning to give the ICO investors miner rewards forever
now that's an offer hard to pass up.
