well I I'm earning as much salary as you guys in this thread are earning I'd be able to buy my own house now after working for 5 years. it's quite hard when you're from a developing country but I'm a bit thrifty when it comes to managing my salary so I can say I have a pretty decent savings in the bank

I want to talk about salaries. How much $ do you have left after paying taxes, rent, and basic expenses (electricity, water)
I get $10 000/y like a fucking slave
My spending basic is $5 000 / year, including food, $2 500 without food
I live in the former SSSR
Another reason to move away

Also they give me these communistic so called "benefits" when you get like prepaid cards for predefined services

https://www.facebook.com/televize.polar/videos/1047399295339540/

Man, actually you are doing pretty good compared to me. I get less than $5,000 / year and I should feed my family with this money. Needless to say I have nothing left from my job.

I hope Bitcoin will make things better for us though. I'm living in the post SSSR too btw. Smiley

IF your earnings are lower then the prices are also lower. I do agree that that sometimes don't apply but in general the living habits in more poor countries are way more cheaper then in the west which should compensate for a lot. But like many I do try to profit with bitcoin to increase my savings accounts. After all you want to have back up cash when you need it.

We cant really compare  the  status    or  standards  of  living on certain country hence they  are different  on each  other . Salaries  would  really  varries  on   which  country  do you  live and some  would say  its  already enough  for  them to make a  living  but  the true  thing here is that   its  just enough  to survive for  everyday  living on a  certain person. In  your  words   bitcoin  would be a good  back-up though  in terms  of financial  because   you could able  to  generate  extra income with it.

Yeah, there are differences with the country of residence and of income source also but there can be a kind of generaized standard for which every country will comply within. By considering this reason, I would  say it is fairly favorable to almost all countries.

that's the reason why most of us are here we are looking for another source of income that we can generate in order for us to at least enjoy the daily earnings coming from our day job is really enough to survive our daily life even you are not luxurious but the expense is really big while having bitcoin is a good back up because we can really earn good profits from it.

Such a small amount if you live in philippines if you are still a single it is enough to live but if you have your own family and child you need to work hard because its not enough and bitcoin will be your help to finance your family...  Here in my job my salari is 18k technical support about cellphones..
It's enough because i can finance my family and my parents but the problem i am not satisfied and i don't to work for ever so collecting bitcoin is one of the way to become rich and to have a business someday with bitcoin for now savings is good way and enjoy what i had right now..

Actually it only does depend on the way how a person would live, it you are living above your means then that would bring your problem on how to manage your finances and no matter how hard you work just to increase your income it would not make you successful still because you are not living the way your should be.

This thread is awesome !

I live in Brazil, but I travel a lot. But let's talk about here. I'm a college teacher from Physics Department and NOW I have a good job because it took me years to get this, but, until June 2014, I lived with $800,00 montly (and I'm married  Grin)

The official currency (Brazilian real) worths nothing. It's just a piece of shit. So the US dollar worth 3x the BRL.

I won't talk about my actual situation because I'm little older than the majority of people in this forum, but my very previous situation was complicated, and so it is for 99% of brazilians. The purchase power here is very low and that's what sinks the ship. If you have a normal job, it don't let you a chance to save money. Energy is expensive, food, water, telephone, etc. If your baby born or EVEN IF YOU DIE, here is a problem to pay.

earning $80000 a month is a really huge salary, did you add extra zero's or are you claiming it to be a annual salary ,since you specifically said you are having the said salary per month i would like to know in which university you are teaching so that i could apply for that job

I think it should not be about what's left of your salary, rather it should be about how much you set aside first before your expenses. I think a lot of us often commit the mistake of treating savings as something that's left after all the expenses. That won't work because expenses are endless and unless you put savings as first priority, then nothing is really going to be left after the expenses. If there's an auto debit program that you can enroll on, why not do it so that you'll develop the habit of forced savings.

You mean the savings, all of us need to manage our salary well to have saving before to expense is the great thing we need to do in our salary.
Like here more of us have saving then investment savings would be our back up in our investment.

If you are a family guy, it's hard to compute what will be left in you, there isn't a thing called enough salary if there are people who depend in you... Enrolling on auto debit program would force you to really put aside part of your salary... Or just accept the truth that as long as you are receiving a salary, there will be a never ending budgeting and just give  savings a share on it each time you compute...  Smiley
