I have a question: SUPER LONG SHOT - How can I get this OS to detect my iPhone for tethering hotspot internet? I have no ethernet in the room my miner is going to be tested in. (no wifi dongles at the moment either)

i just made a donation since I think that this concept is great. The thing does work and I didn't even plug the monitor in order to get it running. It definitely needs more polishing though.

Yes, some updates kill mining process and starts again.
And i know it could be bad idea becasue optiminer when is closed, it sometimes hangs rig.
I will try to do this as it should be.

It isnt stupid.
First of all is it R or RX OS ?
Second in that case try following:
- use different usb ports (usb3 or usb2 or if you have blue/yellow/red)
- in bios try to disable uefi
- in bios try to change usb settings (XHCI/AHCI) or legacy compatible ....
- also try burning OS on different usb stick/ssd/hdd

Becasue claymore dont release ZEC for LINUX anymore.

Sorry Louie. I wont be supporting wifi, too much mess and i have many other important things to do. I wont even consider wifi sooner than 6 m onths from now. (meaby even never)

ABOUT DONATIONS / TAX / ETC

Guys, please hold on with donations and dont send me yet.
I want everyone who donated and want to donate to have "balance" in their account.
I dont want take donations and then release "pay for use" service and ask you guys to pay again
Let me do little more crucial things and i will try to make donation system which will add credit to your account.
It would be nice to take fee even now but i still think that system needs a lot of work so meaby i will implement very little donation ?

From the beginning plan was to take 1-3% for my system usage but its hard to take fee % and my concept changed over time.
Anyway i dont want "reload" rigs every hour to mine this % to my account - it would not be efficient i think and would cause problems like crashes...

I know it still needs much work but it would be good to take even little tax becasue servers,antyddos, costs.
And i dont even talk how much i am loosing by rejecting all my paid work for my company over this project. (but its my choice i guess)

Anyway i am thinking about making my fee system like this this:
- you pay some btc to specific btc address
- then your balance in dahsboard will be added
- then each rig will "eat" some of this balance every hour

If there wont be better idea about "how to take fee for service" then i will implement this in some time.
Anyway in beggining stage it will be still donation and still free to use.
If someone wont pay i wont disable or stop miner on those rigs That would be very unfair.
When system matures i will require little payments but dont worry.
I will send more emails, notifications and negotiations before i will cut something off

I am really honest guy. Even too much honest i would say.
Anyway it is good to finally make big project for people that appreciate my work

Whats new:
- new miner optiminer-zec v0.3.3 (YOU NEED TO RELOAD RIG TO START USING IT)
- fixed replacing new miners versions (your rig will mine on old one, to mine new version you need to reload it)
- Target Temperature in dahsboard and minimum fan speed
- R OS (first fan control script)
- RX OS (little upgrade of fan control script)

How to Reload rig with net miner version:
Soon there will be such separate option but as now you can do this by:
a) to reload only one rig - i advice to do that to test if everything is ok (go to Overclocking menu of each rig and just save settings there
b) to reload ALL rigs: RED OPTIONS -> SAVE
c) pull the plug out and plug in (i mean reboot )

Howto change Target Temperature of your rig and Minimum Fan speed:

I personally think this is a brilliant way of accepting payment, and one that really showcases crypto in that you can reload a 'fee pool' for over time transactions easily. Smart and honest.

However I have just 1 request that might ease everyone else's usage. Maybe you can put a seperate button for applying the temp changes as Im personally using flashed roms to OC and not using the interface. It asks me to put some values into OC when I try to apply the temp changes.

You mean what miner should mine and to which pool ?
Now not because options are globally set for "user" and not "rig" but in future i will do this to make batch options for selected rigs etc..
As now if you really want to get them separate, you could create second email and use two accounts

You are right, changed default to 75.
Anyway you can go to your rig and set whatever you want
Its just a default option that everybody can change.

Why do we need this OS to mine?
What are the advantages?

You can mine whatever you want, there are eth and zec miners available.
You dont need this OS to mine, you can use windows or other mining ready OSes like ethOS.
Advantage is that you can simply start mining and managing all rigs from one place.
Accually everybody should mine what is most profitable.

I set you PM, please send me rig number and email to admin@simplemining.net with this error also.
I can only assume that pendrive has an error and needs to be reflashed (also it could be bug )

Edit: One more human had this problem, i fixed it.
Anyone else ? - i think that update process could be interrupted but its hard to debug it.

If anyone else have this problem just REAPPLY last update by executing as ROOT this command:

OK you can guys enter fan speed settings when OC fields are blank.
