If you're going to use a mailing list, why not use BitMessage?
I second that.

I only want to address the people that I interacted with on a previous thread about wireless bitcoin. What would accomplish that?

Is there any advantage to joining this mailing list as a bitcoin investor?

Great thanks, looking forward to the list. The forum just became too crowded lately, and a lot of FUD around...
See my comments in this thread, also. The forum just isn't suited for introducing new people to bitcoin, anymore. It scares off more business-professionals than it attracts. yeah i agree with u it really create scare for current business professionals

I would say probably not unless you have a tech background. You may not understand what is being discussed, or misinterpret what is being said and making bad judgement calls based on that. Normally I would say all that would be fine as long as you ask lots of questions, but I don't think people would take very kindly to questions relative to investment strategy in a forum for tech/dev discussion.

Maybe create another forum with very strict rules? It should be simple enough.
-Make a subdomain (e.g. dev.bitcointalk.org) -install a fresh, updated copy of SMF on /dev -enforce strict rules (a lot of moderators would help) -registrations must be admin/moderator approved

Thank you for sharing us this information!
Mailing lists are different than forums but also their purposes are different. However, as within a forum, within a mailing list there is a kind of mailing list etiquette that if people disregard the whole thing can turn out in the uncomfortable way. If used in the professional way, it could be attractive, though, just like at forums with professional administration and strict moderation.
Anyway, why not to use BitMessage?
