There's hundreds of threads about not letting newbies into the loan sections etc but it doesnt seem to be much of a priority and a lot of members think this is unfair for some reason even though I've never seen a legitimite newbie offer proper loan terms.

Bottom line is it won't happen.

i understand here that you are talking about banning newbies from the loan sections; if this is right i see nothing which prevents newbies to ask for a loan if they offre a valid collateral.
the loan section has these own risk, the solution is to warn the lenders to choose the right colaterals.

Unfortunately it seem like common sense to just ban them because they're 99.9% likely to scam but it goes against a lot of what people in Bitcointalk community like - that I decentralization. Decentralized wallets, decentralized forums etc.

With any luck, some day if enough people push maybe newbies won't be aloud to post in the lending section but I wouldn't count on it anytime soon.

If you feel a particular newbie is out to scam you, simply ignore him. He can't possibly dip his hand into your wallet to withdraw bitcoins - unless you download a plugin from him.

We had a newbie jail once, I had to go through it in order to be allowed to post elsewhere. It didnt improve things, scammers just waited the ~28 days or bought cheap Jr. accounts. On the other hand though the "beginners and help" section was very confusing. On top of that I think it caused more work for moderators as users asked to be whitelisted in order to get out of the jail early. Preventing scams should not be a moderation issue, it should happen at the user level. If a newbie asks for a high amount of coins without collateral you can be polite and explain them why you are not that stupid or just ignore them.

I think nobody among them succeeded making a loan,if you are a lender you know that you will not allow newbies to get a loan because they are just here to try and trick you, they do not have anything to offer back to the lender ..

Agreed, sometimes the leniency is gone with those the same kinds of strategies. Well i am not that really easily scammed but it just annoying or bothersome to read such the same posts over and over again.

I see. But i think this would be adjusted not by the system but by the users cause i would agree that just ignoring them is an absolute answer. Sometimes.

Looking at the lending section is like staring into a Port-O-Potty after a KISS concert if you know what I mean.   And I've never seen a noob get a loan by posting proper collateral and all that either.  I would gladly support a newbie ban from the lending section and I've said that before in other threads.

This issue has been raised several times and the answer that we get is the same "There are newbies out there who will offer a valid collateral or maybe they will use a ranked up account as collateral they just don't want to make it public" however how often do we bump into this kind of threads in the lending section versus those newbies with sob stories.

Just because someone is newbie doesn't give us a right to doubt his intentions. We have seen even old reputed members too have been involved in scams and defaulters.
It is lenders discretion who they want to give loan to

Why would anyone give a loan to a newbie?
It is like you giving money to some guy on the street that you saw first time in your life and expecting that he will return it.

If they have collateral, then you would give the loan to likely anyone as long as it's not fraudulent and can be sold off easily. (Of course, volatile shitaltcoins are not acceptable)

There have been a couple times that I've seen a newbie provide valid collateral and have the loan completed - some people do read the rules, shocking I know - and the main problem is the wannabe scammers who attempt to ask for those loans, hoping for someone stupid enough to believe their sob/business/huge investment stories. There are people worth providing loans to whom haven't been as active on the forum as other people who are scammers.

Yes right other experienced users should be smart enough to not to provide any newbie any loan if he is asking it without any collateral. With our experience here we can easily tell he is trying to scam or really he can be trusted.
Also i have seen newbies who asks for loan without collateral gets a negative trust. So thats also a kind of jail or punishment for them.

If the newcomer does not necessarily consider him a swindler. Of course if someone asks a loan here it has to be careful. I, for example, need only advice and if I am going to ask about it.

Besides the abusers who create all the time new account and try to scam people. There are also newbies with good intentions and think that each escrow agent need to think by ther self if they want to loan someone or not. Like always think twice before you loan anyone and how is the chance that the person hold his promise and pay you nice back.

I agree with your statement. But there are some people on here that create an account or several in a day for just using it as a proxy account to do what they primarily intended it for and then just throw it/them away not using it ever again.
There has to be a system in place on the forum (possibly on the new one that has been announced to be released sometime in the near future) that can inhibit this from happening. Embarrassed
