I am guessing the bears are targeting BTC on the back of the closed doors scaling meeting. See the market as well-supported in the high 500's, so don't see a huge slide beyond here

Even I think the same. The price is now stabilizing. Just filling up the hole left behind to get the roots stronger. from 592 USd the price is now 600 USD. It will increase soon. However, the recent fall made few people bearish on bitcoin hence they also are selling. It will take a bit but will soon recover. |

Must really be one of the reason as investors see ETH derivative as innovative as they are. Too bad I only have few ETC this time. I wish I have decided earlier to invest more to it. it's mostly because before the halving people were holding so this past month we had rise not just because of halving but no one was selling and after the halving you can see that people started to panic sell in fear of a sudden crash this is exactly what is happening now people are panic selling thinking recent drops in value of some alts would reach bitcoin as well.

But coin jumped down. No reason for panic. I think we all have to look at this as to an opportunity to rise our amounts and buy some bitcoins. The price will go up for sure, it is only a moment. Even now I'm looking at bitcoin's price and now it is 629$. So it shows how bitcoin is not stabile, you stayed the comment just couple hours ago and the price is stabilizing already.

YEah you are right. The holders of bitcoins doesn't need to worry. Because almost everything that suddenly goes down will go up eventually. It is just all about timing. Selling your bitcoin right now is not a wise idea because if majority of the people will sell their bitcoins it will really lead to massive bitcoin price down which the bitcoin holders would never want. |

It is just some speculators playing with the trade volumes between ETH and Bitcoin. They waited a bit after the Halving to see what would happen and nothing did, so now they are shifting the ETH, to inflate the sales volumes and other people are following like sheep.
The Bitcoin price will go down, because people might see this as a dump, and the panic button will be pressed by the people who are easily fooled by this. It's not like bitcoin is going to crash to 0. The price always fluctuates. When btc price drops, you sell your BTC for altcoins, then sell your altcoins for btc as the btc price increases. Everyone freaks out at the slightest decline, but did we forget why we have bitcoin? To abandon fiat. Are you really just going to sell your BTC, go back into fiat (at a loss) and cry later when price fluctuates back up?

I was actually expecting it to plummet down to 0.002 or maybe even less when the rest of them will to take profit. There are numbers dumpers who did it, the rest are still waiting whether it will retrace back. once time has passed and yet it didn't, the rest will dump it. Bitcoin is not crashing if you are closely monitoring the price of Bitcoin, it's starting to recover and go back to its previous rate. Slow yes, but recovering. Unlike other alt coins, rise one day or two, gone and forgotten after a week or month.

Price is stable now around 590$ and if it does not occur some negative event like BitFinex there is no reason that the price does not go up .Some people probably sold some of their BTC for the summer holidays so that it may have some small impact on price.In the coming months we should see effects of halving also and hopefully the occasional positive news will give Bitcoin wind in the sails.

Bitcoin lost like 50$ after bitfinex scam and i think that was pretty cheap to get away from this mess. We could have seen worse if people had panicked. But people realized that exchange hacks have nothing to do with bitcoin itself and they kept their trust with bitcoin.

first of all, miners are not abandoning bitcoin. the difficulty change at this point is nearly 5% in the green. which means that if this difficulty is what the final increase will be for this period, that we're nearly at the same point as before the previous difficulty adjustment. miners abandoning bitcoin would translate into the difficulty going down and down. not the case, so i am not sure what makes you think so. |

Even if the price goes over $600 I still consider it a more than decent price to buy at. If I look at the sentiment and the buy support on exchanges, then I even think the price might fall a bit lower. Probably somewhere in the range of $560-$570 levels. |

Be prepared for a average price around $600 for a few months, because it stayed at $400 to $450 for a few months before the Halving happened and then it crashed a little with the Bitfinex hack. I think most of the volatility has worked it self out and we are in for a long boring phase.. until the next big thing happens. Hopefully it will be something good, like a major retailer or merchant or service accepting Bitcoin. |

Really lol?? Other profitable project and then what? It will just add more troll coins in the making. Bitcoin is only crypto that can last for a long term. Other coins are just for short term profits. So a serious miner will just put efforts on bitcoin even the rewards are drop. Yes i agree with you bitcoin is only long lasting project but with halving everyone knows that mining bitcoin is not profitable anymore . Even with halving and miners profit reduced to half, there is no stoppage of mining. Bitcoins prices are still going up . The people who have setup large infrastructures for mining are not going to give up and it is still profitable to them. That's all what we are waiting to happen which is the price increase, I think it could happen this year and there is no major crash really as the price is backing up already, it takes a little time before we will sit comfortably to $600+ as the previous price before the fall back. I am sorry but we have already have seen the major move up happen. It was followed by a fall below $600 because of the Bitfinex hack. Now I do not think that there will be any major moves up or down. We will continue to stay under $600 until the end of this year and some parts of next year. I think if bitcoin price stays at 600$ till the end of the year without being major pump or dump, it will be good for overall credibility of bitcoins. While others panic sold during that plummet, there are those who took advantage of the decline. No, not really bitcoin is not regulated in most countries and because of that situation like recent Bitfinex hack can still occur. We need to impose some serious regulations on crucial bitcoin services like exchanges or payment providers. Without regulation of business bitcoin is financial wild west. |

I would consider a crash when the price drops $100 - $200 and that's not happening now, the price is not as stable as it was at $600+ but the price is falling down slightly and slowly which makes me think that until the end of the year the price can go up to $400.

China is already slightly above that level and for now it looks like we are breaking a bearish triangle. Give it another few more days and with a bit of luck and positive momentum we could be back in the 600s. So there is absolutely nothing to be worried about. |

I think the market hot spot is in the altcoin such as Ethereum and Dash coin. yeah, it is just a small drop, the crash would be if it was dumped to a half price, in my opinion it is good that the price is not just having spikes up well i guess you are right, i hope though that from now on we will see a decent increase and we will be able to make some good money with bitcoins I do not see a big rise in the near future. There is no good news to drive up the price. The price will stay below $650. |

crashing is a big word . you should not use it to describe a normal fall.
the price has fallen %10 approximately last week because of the bad news of bitfinex. it is not the first time to see this kind of fall.

Bitcoin market is very manipulated. Price is slowly pushed down then one day jumps up then slowly pushed down. It will be volatile for a very very long time. I'm going to wait until Bitcoin drops more and then buy and us it to buy other coins. No benefit of holding.

I am not interested in day charts but I do feel that the time for bitcoin to go back to 650 dollar will come soon. There is no reason that we stay under 600 dollar now. Support can be much higher. |
