First of all, this is just my observation, as I gamble before, but I am not an addicted gambler, I was just there because I find it profitable that time. Now, I found few friends there, that I think is one reason. I always talk to them and we are all asking each other over and over again of "how much have you won today?" "lets do this, lets aim for the jackpot, do you want to join me?". I think it is because of the winning, maybe, just maybe, their winnings are very important and useful to them.

its because once someone wins really big at a gamble, they start to think that they're always going to end up winning big. That rush you get when you win big gets you addicted to gambling. thats why i never win

This is true and this is also one of the strategy of the house.  Once in a while they let one person win the jackpot, inculcating to peoples mind that maybe they will win too.  So lots of people will then jump in to the scheme without realizing that sometimes the result is rigged.

Yeah those are true..
They are just addicted in the game because yeah they are making a profit but the problem is some gambler are not making a profit instead they are gamble again in the next day because they want to recover their loses..

If anything, my poker addiction has helped me better manage and keep track my finances as weird as that sounds.

You are really addicted gambler, but i am surprised that your family and your other relationship never disturb from you, also you are happy with your poker life, even we see mostly addicted persons want to leave their habit. So it is really good, i think other people who have been addicted from gambling, they should follow you.

Couse it feel good when you win , and you want to gain more so you will never stop until you have enough winning , and it's enjoyable to play it for fast time when you got board and nothing to do. But most of people use gambling to earn not just for fun.

You are in true love with poker because it working awesome for you. When everyone has that kind of feelings about any game than he has a lot of experience and some tricks to make confuse his opponents. The good thing is that you are playing with management of your life and nothing is getting effect by this habit. For professional poker player it is much easy to manage his financial condition by help of this.

General golden rule says - it is addiction when it causes more problems for your and your loved ones.
If you can perfectly balance your excessive poker mania and you are happy with your life and family.
You have no money trouble and can still manage your daily routine and responsibilities.
Then I gees it is not addiction in traditional sense of that word. Rare case I would say.

   Addiction is not from one playing, its not working like that. Its just illusion, I don't believe in addiction, that is just people feel boring and don't have what else to do and they make stupid habits. People who wish to stop to gamble simply need to start to something else, to think about something else.
   Before you get into something like gambling, try to work on your self control, that will help you in gambling and if you wish to stop with gambling. People who can control them self`s are stronger and they will not spent all money on gambling. People should just play smart and with money they can spent, and they will never have problem with any addiction.

some of them do.

it is because of two things in my opinion. greed and false beliefs about gambling.
everybody is greedy and if you add to that the wrong thinking about gambling and wanting to become rich with it, you have yourself an addict.

Well even they don't have money, they are going to do something in able to satisfy their gambling addiction. That is what we call addiction.

They can't live alone if they are not able to gamble for a day and it makes their mind that they are not complete if they are not going to gamble.

Gambling addiction is really dangerous and many wealthy gamblers become big losers after getting addicted. If the gambler can't control himself from spending his money in gambling without limits, that's really so risky.

Because it's about the money and the kick you get when you skin in the game I would say.
When you have won, you want to win more.And when you have lost, you want to recover those losses.
In the end it's also fun. However in my personal case I wouldn't say that I'm addicted to gambling. I follow strict rules and know my limits.
