can someone give me correct .conf file ? i cant solo mine with my gpu

in windows open explorer and type

%appdata%

goto bipcoin folder

create new text file called bipcoin.conf (not solo mining so unsure, name file same name as directory)

put this inside the .conf file and save it. Then restart the wallet. (you can check to see if its now accepting connections by navigating to http://127.0.0.1:2016 in a web browser. If all is good it should ask for your username and password as defined in the .conf file.

rpcuser=USERNAME
rpcpassword=PASSWORD
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=2016
server=1
listen=1

ok. This is a public address, it's on our donation page. Copy and paste this command:

transfer 3 bip1TtNvriUXbXtx3PJy8G2KbbnV9xo65hfC6kGEy66fDjQkB6W8K9ockKwnFETtMg7zdkjLrQv9DKC fRqsJqJJ86j65Mf6dbi .1

if you get a "Mixin too large" error, reduce the number after "transfer" by one until it goes through. (3 is anon, less isn't, more than 3 is even more anon, but we need lots of people exchanging to use larger numbers. 3s work sometimes for now, and sometimes not.)

let me know when it's sent, I'll send half of it back to you.

Had to delete my response since i was completely wrong lol :p But i like this :p Smiley

Downloaded Windows wallet, updated blockchain, started mining with 12 threads (i7 5930k), after about 10 seconds I got a blue screen.

That hasn't happened to anyone that I know of.

Did it fix with a restart?
What Windows version, and what's the hardware, (Need laptop or desktop, at least), and which wallet, CLI or GUI? And how experienced are you with computer stuff?

I don't really want to try it a second time. version bipcoin.windows.x64.v0-0-0-1, custom built pc (i7 5930k, 16 gb RAM, gtx 1080, Windows 10), and it was through the console. Is there a GUI? that might be easier for me to use, I'm not very experienced with these type of things

I'm using this bipcoin.windows.x64.v0-0-0-1.zip. start bipcoind.exe then simplewallet.exe O (open), type your wallet.bin, then the password, and start_mining 1 (thread count), start from 1and go up till you crash, use the one before crash. stop_mining then start_mining 2 repeat. in the bipcoind terminal if you dont see hashrate, type show_hr

That sounds pretty goofy, waiting for it to crash. I don't really like it crashing.

That's how testing is done. I honestly think it's your computer, probably not updated, or something on your end, but we can't know without that kind of testing.

Maybe wait until this is a little more developed. We are currently at version
.0.0.0.1
That's ULTRA beta testing version. I do have to say, it's working remarkably well for software that's so new and complex, but it's probably not ready for people who aren't great with computers yet.

I'd recommend you come back in a month.

Respectfully,
MWD

Thats how you check the max hashrate, I'm using start_mining 3 and that use 75% cpu, 4 uses 100% but I know you can go higher for other cpu miners maybe this one too, but I'm using the PC so 75% is fine for me.

Don't use 12 threads. It might actually be slower than a lower number. I have that cpu and use 6 or 7 threads. I see no improvement beyond that because each thread actually performs worse on its own.

use show_hr on the daemon terminal to check

This is not an answer for your blue screen problem though

Yeah. Without having access to your logs, it's really impossible to tell what caused this unless you can make it happen again.

I first said it in 1996, and I'll say it again now:

Computers are an interesting mix of science and voodoo.

MWD64 show me the command how to send you 0.1coin to see if I can use this wallet. Put your address and everything

pwpwpw, Did you send it yet? I can check if you did, but I need to go off line for at least an hour after that.

Got it!
I've been busy as hell, as you can imagine,...doing everything to launch a coin is a full time job, plus I also have a full time job.
 sorry didn't see your reply.

what's an address for me to send it back? PM to me if you don't want to share here. But you can always make a public wallet address and a private one. Not that people can see your BipCoin address on the blockchain (it makes a temp address for each transaction, and also intentionally mis-reports the amount by a little bit, lol), but the more anon the more anon, ya feel me?

Also, next person who asks on here, will you do this with them? pass on the knowledge please? (i.e. tech support as distributed as our coin.)

Okay, I am using 3 threads now, CPU usage fluctuates between 25 and 30%, show_hr shows about 115 (h/s?)
Will keep you updated whether it crashes or not.

Very cool.

Speaking of cool, make sure you put a fan on the computers while mining so they don't burn out. With laptops, prop them up with blocks so air gets under and over. With desktops I put an extra fan inside. Pix of both about 3/4 way down this page:

I'll help people if I'm here and know the answer but its my first cryptonote coin.

edit: something is happening when you copy paste from terminal to here, see the kjexc5 (there is a space) then 3ptSTV, happened when you pasted too.

You're on the right blockchain, because I got your transaction, and I am also on the right one.

but what block height are you showing? I'm at 4666 lol.
