exchange is nowhere near, I don't know why people think exchanges just take on any coin that is 3days old Cheesy 2years ago you were happy if they added after a month.

pwpwpw, see the above post about errors.

I'm quite curious as to how much satoshi 1 bipcoin is worth. When do you think exchanges will accept this coin?

After we get a block explorer, and are more than 4 days old. lol.

Hey, try this to clear up the errors. And if it works, if I'm asleep when people ask this same question, please point them to this. One of our other dev team members sent me this:

I got my errors to clean up..

I deleted %appdata%/bipcoin/*.*

Then restarted (It redownloaded) and things are good... im at 4759.

I can see 4 transactions that are failing for some-peeps.  Otherwise things look clean

I will try the fix at once. I am always late to coins so I don't know when exchanges start to accept new coins, so my question was probably very dumb Wink
I deleted the blockchain and redownloaded it. It is indeed very clean with no error messages, I'll start mining again.

EXCELLENT! Again, if I'm asleep and you see that question, please point them to that post.

Take care.

what height is everyone on right now?

I can see top block at 4780 but I am stuck reorganising at 4747.

It may or may not have to do with the fact that I mined 4747 and it shows in my transactions.

Okay.  Noob here.  Trying to figure out why i still can't land any blocks.  Was told that even with a lower hashrate (26-28) it should still be possible.  Currently running two laptops (fully cooled) at about the same rate but nothing for hours (and hours and hours).

Anyone want to help the moron?

yeah, AFAIK, there are no ASICs for CryptoNote. I think that's a good thing.

YOu and MurderDawg both reset your blockchain, right?

I'm mining on a laptop with hash of about 30, and I got two blocks overnight.

yeah, stopped the daemon, exited wallet, deleted the chain, started daemon, waited till sync, opened wallet. Since I started mining again, the looping error stopped. Those errors must come from my own wallet but I'm on the correct chain, we tested transactions so...I'm off to chill, setting goddamn miner rigs for 12hours now.

How about GPU? Is this coin mineable with GPU's? maybe even FPGA's?

I haven't tried either, but I do know that GPUs should work, but don't have the huge advantage with CryptoNote-based coins that they do with Bitcoin and Bitcoin-based coins.

If you try it, please let me know.

I think the ideal BipCoin solo miner would be a crapload of powerful regular Desktop computers ganged together with the sides open and cheap box fans blowing in them.

The "it" was this site.  Kept refusing to let me post a reply.

Hey rock, you got a minute to walk MurderDawg through the reset? I'm writing tutorials for the GUI wallet.

There's a ccminer release which supports cryptonote coins, although it is fairly old (2 years). It gets 250 h/s on a gtx 750 ti so definitely not bad, but I have no idea how to make that work solo, not in a pool. If you know that, do tell me. I would love to see what my card can do.

MurderDawg, go to %appdata%\bipcoin and delete all the files in that folder (when the bipcoin wallet/client is off). Reopen bipcoind and let it redownload the blockchain.
If you can't get %appdata% to work, the full path should be something like this: C:\Users\Yourusername\AppData\Roaming\bipcoin\...

You rock, Rock.
Thank you for your service!
